Was the store full? Maybe he/she is trying to say to not raid and buy max three things? Idk what else it could mean..
Huh, perhaps you're right.
I would guess anti-raiding tactics too!
True, i have a few "benefactors" (you know who you are) that occasionally change their farm name to warn the raiders before booting them for good.
I'm glad to see this topic come up.
As a rule, I only take what I need from friends and leave the rest for others. As tempting as it may be to pick up 10 boxes of nails, if I'm not working on the silo, I leave them. I have been known to clean out a shop, but there are usually reasons for it. For example, if something has been sitting in the same shop for more than 4 or 5 hours, I consider it fair game. Or occasionally after doing truck orders, I'm legitimately out of everything, and need a boost. But I don't make it a habit.
For the most part, my friends deal with my shop in the same way, but I do have one person who seems to buy everything, and I keep wondering what exactly are they doing on their farm that they're out of all of it...
I've tolerated this for several weeks now... since he or she is a lower level, I just keep assuming that eventually they'll realize they're not making money doing this, or their barn would get too full to keep doing this. But it continues.
I feel like I've slowed them down a little bit by posting items that they can't buy yet, and hope my higher level neighbors need them, but sometimes I feel like I don't want to post anything for fear they will come by and just take it all.
I have considered deleting and blocking them....but I also want to help them out if I can, so I really appreciate the tip on changing the name of my farm for a bit, to let them know its unacceptable to me. Now I just need to think of some very nice wording for it :) I don't want to offend anyone that it is not directed towards
I like that. But personally I don’t mind if someone takes everything. What I do mind is when someone constantly comes by and keeps taking everything. I’ve had that happen twice, with people who must have been checking my RSS every few minutes, because most of the time I literally couldn’t finish loading all the crates before they’d start buying everything. And these were all unadvertised (with no help sign on my farm). And this went on all day every day until eventually I blocked them.
I sell everything at default or less, so these people may have been using my RSS as a way to make coins by buying cheap and selling at a profit. But whatever the reason, I was annoyed, because I like to leave things in my RSS for all my friends and followers, not just one. And I didn’t want to have to sell at max to try to solve the problem.
I wish it had occurred to me to change my farm name before blocking them. As I said, I do like Wussy’s suggestion. But if I have a problem again, I’d want to convey that the issue isn’t just about one visit—but about the frequency of the take-everything visits. I’m not sure how to do that, though. One idea is “Please leave some for others,” but that might be interpreted the same way as Wussy’s suggestion. Another idea is “Help yourself—but not too often.” But maybe that’s too heavy-handed. It’s hard to be clear and polite in just a few words :).
I dont mind if people buy all the stuffs in my shop. I put it there cause I dont need it, so its okay if it helps 1 person or 5. If I see a shop with lots of stuffs I need, I buy it all as well. If people get so annoyed by that and feel the need to delete or block me, then they should. Always kinda surprised when I see people care so much about this aspect.
And personally, if you want your "friends" to only buy 3 crates, then only put 3 crates up. Sure you can make you own rules, but Hay Day doesnt support that, so expect people to ignore your rules.
PS I usually dont read peoples names, so its easily missed that some are being all sensitive about others buying their stuffs.
I agree 100% with your post. If it is for sale, and i want to buy it I do. If I put it up for sale, and you want to buy it, then buy it. So far i have not been blocked or deleted, but if I was I was. I usually don't read people's name either. i may read them after I buy, but if you do not jump in you may miss the goods, so I buy first and ask questions later.
I like the suggestion if you only want people to buy three crates, then only have 3 crates for sale. That is the only way to guarantee your wishes are met. you cannot control what other people do, in real life or in Hay Day.
