just be patient. I never buy diamonds. Never. And I have the tree and a few other decorations that cost diamonds. I'm at 38 diamonds now and I want the snowglobe (50). I'll probably get it by early December... just in time for Christmas!! YAY!! :)
I read somewhere earlier that last year you could buy the Christmas tree with coins...!!! This is my first Hay Day Christmas, and if this is the case, it is totally wrong to change so drastically... Where is the continuity...??
John.
I played this last Christmas, as yes, the tree was for coins. I still had a few Xmas decs in storage from last year, like the pile of gifts, the Christmas poinsettia, the toy solider and something else.
There were a few. The white bird feeder, well and wheelbarrow and a few others. They've all required diamonds since they came out. Some HAVE switched though. I don't particularly like it, but I'll live with it. It curbs my desire to buy every bit of ♥♥♥♥ that's for sale. I will *never* however, EVER purchase one of those gawdaweful gold statues! LOL
The Christmas tree was 5,000 coins last year; the cost went up incrementally as you purchased more. I don't understand why SC changed it except to line their pockets. What a huge disappointment as I was looking forward to buying this year. Not going to waste my diamonds or buy them
I'm not known for my gentle touch... ;)
But in all seriousness, the decorations add nothing to the game play, they are just for looks. This is no different than any of a hundred other instances where one person has more disposable income than someone else. I don't see the reason to get worked up about it.
Seeing as how most of the Halloween decorations cost diamonds I was pretty sure the Christmas ones would too, so I just dove in, held my breath and bought some of them. Yep, including the Christmas tree. Does anyone here think it doesn't cost money to run this game? Do you get Christmas decorations for free at your local store? I don't so therefore I don't mind helping to fund such a fun, entertaining pasttime. Sure, I love free diamonds when I get them, but I look at this as pretty cheap entertainment (the smaller amounts of diamonds just don't cost that much). It's a heck of a lot cheaper than one night at the movies with dinner included. A LOT cheaper. And the fun lasts a whole lot longer, too.
When my daughter first started playing the game she griped about buying diamonds until I asked her how much did she spend on buying an online movie. 'Nuff said. Cheap entertainment indeed.
For the price of a cup of Starbucks coffee you can have not only the Christmas tree but a decorated fence up your drive and probably most of the other decorations as well. $4.99 buys 130 diamonds. So do without the fancy coffee for a day or two and use that money instead for some diamonds for your decorations.
The new japanese shareholder who bought 51% of SC paid an insane amount of money, some source say 1.5 billion. They want that back. Hence, things must cost insane amount of diamonds. Lets see when inflation will hit poor Tom?
Not dramatic at all, I was merely stating that folk who don't or can't afford to buy diamonds are losing out on not being able to have a Christmas tree. Being able to buy it with coins or vouchers would have been a fairer option. But Supercell are not fair at all, some have the confirmation button now, others don't, the same applies to movie tickets, we are all players of the game.
Thank you. I think keeping the old decorations at the old price (coins, but allow a little bit for inflation, lol.) and charging diamonds for the brand new ones would have been more equitable... Last years players have had a distinct advantage with this one... (I don't begrudge them btw, I'm just thinking out loud again...) The way SC are going with their "charge diamonds for everything" strategy, they will drive people away from the game, and that could very counter productive...??
What was the last count of how many millions they are making per day...??
John.
Sorry, I forgot to says thanks for the verification and price on last years items. Appreciated.
John.
Whooo hooooo I just received 8 diamonds for 30 gift cards. :D
I'm totally on my way to getting that snow globe! :D :D :D
ya, I hoped we can buy the decoration items by coins
I loved the snowball which cost 50 diamonds !!
come on, this is too much, i'm hardly working to gain diamonds
I can't spend half of my diamonds in one item :(
seriously
In that case, I'm a loser by choice. This is my 2nd Christmas with HD and last year I didn't buy a single Xmas decor nor do I plan to this year. I seriously don't a have single square of land spare for seasonal decor. I've been staring at my farm for the past hour trying to figure out how to squeeze in the 3 new machines while maintaining my design with fenced in machines. A Christmas tree is the last thing on my mind. I'm also so broke today after spending all my coins on buying the new machines that it's like sand in my eye seeing that useless red tractor just lying there taking up space and thinking about how much I spent on it uuuurgh. Think it's time to store it before the the vein in my neck pops.
I love what you did there! That's exactly how I think too! I personally didn't play video or computer games growing up but I remember just 10 years ago my friends saving for months to buy 1 single game that cost over $50 (closer to $100 actually)!! These days we are just too spoiled!
Sometimes there's limited time offer for diamond purchases, keep an eye out for a good deal if you want to get the biggest possible bang for the buck. I've many times received 80% discount offer on 130 diamonds making it only 99 cents. Either way, even att full price it's really cheap entertainment.
I agree with shelie54!!! If u think about it, it's really not that much!! I mean this game doesn't run on the hopes & dreams of the players!! Supercell has to make at least some money to keep the game operating!! I admit I splurged & bought $10 worth of diamonds. But I got 2 snow globes, 2 toy soldiers, 2 snowmen, 3 snow lanterns, and a Christmas tree & STILL have diamonds left over!! It also helped that I've been saving my diamonds. I got some for achievements, some while mining, & got really lucky 2 find 5 mystery boxes that contained 5 diamonds each (did not have to pay 3 diamonds to open). So like shelie54 said: if u really want some of stuff it's not that much just skip out on buying something u don't necessarily need like coffee from Starbucks (lol sorry I stole that from u). It's worth it because I think my farm looks pretty cool now :D!!!
will do.
I'm not a big fan of too much decor, but I do love the Christmas tree, and have a couple snowmen (one was a "mistake" purchase) and one soldier and two boxes of gifts. When I opened the ap today, I got all excited and punched the snowball pile to see how large it was on the screen, and accidentally let it go in a spot where it would fit... .bye bye to 5 diamonds. My fault, but anyway now they are piled neatly beside one of the snowmen.
I got all excited when I saw the snowglobe though... and vowed to buy it. I have 49 diamonds now. One more "ad" and I'll be the proud owner of a useless decoration that will take up space! hahaa
I used to save for months to be able to go to the movies when tickets were $1.00. :P
yes I agree with Shealie too. Insofar as spending $5.00 on a couple hundred diamonds. I just haven't done it yet. Also, sometimes those couple hundred go "on sale" for .99c! HA!
Yeah, yeah you win .. Haha!
But take your time and wait for a good deal if you're not in a hurry. I've only bought diamonds once and it was for 570 diamonds 60% off for $8 (normally $19.99). Even back then I'd already opened up all importsnt queue slots and was comfortable where I was but I knew I wanted to buy diamonds 1 time kind of to show SC support for their great work and might as well do it while there was a good deal. HD is the only freemium game that I've spent real money because it has managed to keep me entertained like no other game has before. It's been over a year already.
I've been gone for 5 days sick! Anyone miss me? I think not, too busy complaining about Xmas deco's now! Waaaa! If I could donate diamonds to you guys I would. Then I woulnt have to hear you wine!! Lol ooh that felt good. I'm back!
I don't want decorations they just make the farm look better.
I JUST WANT MONEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
Thank you both :) I really appreciate it!
I've since acquired my boards.
I don't want to sound ungrateful, (and hopefully nobody will take it that way!) but I don't do trades. I find it's enough for me to keep up with the game and play around on a few of these forum questions... adding another layer would practically send me over the edge! LOL
But thank you both - sincerely!
I got my barn upgraded, now I'll patiently wait for the next level... and my precious snowglobe! lol
If the items used to cost coins, I feel they should have stayed that way. If they want diamonds, make us new decorations! This is also my first "Hay Day Christmas" and I was looking forward to getting the tree... But I'm not really into it for diamonds. Kind of rubbing it in our faces so to speak. Oh well.
