The town interface is awesome now - it seems to stay on whatever tab I was last using - so when I’m loading folks it stays in IDLE, when I’m serving them, it stays in WAITING, etc. love that.
Thanks also for the little changes here and there.....

Yes, it's so much better now :D
My farm doesn’t - I don’t seem to have the update yet ?
Great job on today’s update. Thanks a bunch.
Sounds freat.... Late arriving in my Town.. I hope it comes my way...
This is one of the best ‘optional updates’ ever!! Team HayDay should be very proud of themselves. Thank you!!!
Darn, somehow I missed this thread so started a new one. Love this update!
Ah I updated when I saw this thread. I love it. So much better!
I still don’t have it, so weird. I’m in the UK, it’s still showing Dec ‘17.
Anyone else in the UK on Apple have it?
App Store on my iPhone has the update but not on my iPad. I am in US.
LOL i was sending and feeding townies last few hours and i didnt notice it.. nice update.. :-)
But nephew could not log in in an older phone.. stuck at "updating......."
Had to delete and reinstall..
When you’re on the updates screen in the App Store, try ‘tugging’ the entire screen down from the top of the iPad - it will refresh the apps in your device against current updates and then it should show up.
alternatively, you can delete the app and reinstall it - it should be the new version then
Great update, thank you SC.
Looks great but a sort order for time and visitor columns is needed.
Weve only asked for this a few hundred times
As for the chat indicator the icon looks smaller but still ugly. Nothing wrong with the original one.
The update arrived today. It is MUCH better...
I finally got it just after midnight.
It’s a good start on the Town UI, there’s still things that need sorting, but this will definitely make life a bit nicer in the meantime.
I hadn’t noticed the chat button, so clearly there is still room for improvement, or hey, let’s go back to how it was! The place wasn’t exactly over run by people complaining it was too small!
RSS user improvements? I couldn’t see any difference, except maybe the advert flickering (or did it do that before?)? Anything else I’ve missed?
I think it’s just the flicker. It seemed as if some players didn’t realise it was still possible to advertise. This should solve that.
i agree it’s a great start to the overhaul of the Town UI. A nice little time saver. :-)
Thank you SuperCell for responding to our requests. These improvements are great.
My game updated automatically on my iPad and Kindle. I didn’t need to update the app on either one. Love that the town stays on the tab you’re using, great improvement. Thanks!
It's certainly an improvement, but it's a lot of fixing needed to make town awesome
It's still four clicks to place a townie and the sorting is still slowing down play unnecessarily. See visitor have to go and sorting returned to before they started tweaking the interface
Sorry but I’ve obviously missed something big? I hadn’t even noticed the town hall stays on the last tab selected but now it’s been pointed out it is MUCH better on that element. I can’t see any other changes though - some posts have been very enthusiastic but I still can’t see what’s diff apart from the above?
That was the only major thing - it seemed a very much ‘housekeeping’ update - so far I’ve noticed that the neighborhood chat tab is smaller, they messed with available fonts for some foreign characters, the ‘advertise’ button now flickers or blinks when you post an item to remind you that’s there, and you can activate fish or town boosters without being in those specific parts of your farm. Might be a few small other changes too.....very small details.
Thank goodness for this tiny update, but please please please PLEASE still fix the overall Town UI.
It's still too many taps (and I'm still not visiting the town if I don't need to....)
Couldn’t agree more. Thanks for listening to us Hay Day.
Did I miss something? I for one think the first town UI upgrade was incredible! Prior to that, you were only able to pull either first or last visitor placed into a building, no access to middle townies in a queue. To be able to have COMPLETE access to every townie in any building at any stage of service is HUGELY better! Well worth a few extra key taps. I cannot believe people are still complaining about having to push buttons to play the game! Really?? You’re so tied up with so little time that a fraction of a second makes that much of a difference? I doubt it. If so, you’ve lost focus on the concept of playing a GAME!!!
Did I miss something? I can't believe people still don't understand why others complain about pressing unnecessary buttons. It's a time and resource management and optimization game. Those fractions of a second add up to lots and lots of unnecessary clicks. It really does ruin the town. The town is only good for Derby now. Such a shame since the town used to be the best part for many players. The game we were playing and liked, was taken away from us and replaced with a tedious button pushing game. So yeah, we have every right to complain.
First of all, I like improvement of the town UI which allows us to pick up visitors from multiple towns instead of just one. But it created an issue which Team Hay Day (THD) ignored or didn't anticipate, IMO. When I pick up the maximum number of ten visitors and direct them to my buildings, I had to tap the Idle tab 10 times instead of once because for some odd reason, it keeps defaulting to the All tab. It was amusing at first but then I grew annoyed at the superfluous taps I must make. Playing the town wasn't fun anymore and I decided to mothball the town until THD fixed this oddity of superfluous taps.
I'm speculating the following. Player Support received negative feedback from many players about the superfluous taps. Then THD looked at their internal numbers and saw that players were logging in less often to play the game, specifically the town. THD realized that the superfluous taps has become an issue and made it one of their top priorities to release an optional update to fix it.
In the above example, I'm glad that the forumites' complaints about the superfluous taps have aligned with the community at large so THD must address it. Thank you THD for your vigorous response to the superfluous taps.
Playing the town without superfluous tapping is fun again for me. :)
”The town is only good for Derby now.” We’ll, I’d hazard a reasonable guess that the majority of players DO PLAY DERBY! And playing derby myself, it was and is MUCH better to have this finesse to optimize town tasks for derby. You have every right to your complaints about the game, or whatever else you’d like, but it is a game for literally thousands and thousands of people, and what makes sense is to optimize the game for the majority. That is just business smart. If you think your beloved town was ruined by the addition of a few extra clicks, and AREN’T playing derby, I’m just not getting the reason its essential to optimize the fraction of a second it takes to click. IT IS A GAME!
For me, the main problem with all the extra taps in town isn’t the extra time they take—it’s the wear and tear on my fingers. Hay Day requires a lot of tapping in general, and after I’ve been playing for a while, my fingers start to hurt. I have an ergonomic injury that I don’t want to aggravate, so I have to limit my playing time. So a change to the game that reduces tapping means I get to play more :).
At this point I can live with the extra click that's left after this latest tweak if hard-core derby players are really helped by it but the sorting HAS to be fixed. Now that there are specific building tasks, sorting by type of townie alone isn't all that helpful anymore anyhow. Give us the ability to sort based on type of townie, type of building, and for the love of all that's good by how many stops are left lol.
PS. Also thank you for the small tweak today. It's a step in the right direction. :)
