27 people in derby, 26 being active, I would go for playing bingo but the other neighbors dont want to do bingo and as you can see, cant do these tasks on my own. So no bingo.

I agree that to get a bingo line one needs patience. I have a hood of 30, with 27 opted in. We got one bingo line in each of the bingo derbies, but it’s been very hard, I don’t see us ever getting more than one line in a derby. Just barely got one in this last derby. We need 9-10 of each task, but are playing with the same size task boards with the same refresh lag time as hoods of 1 person. Large hoods are definitely at a disadvantage. And all bingo boards are not created equal, lol, would have loved to have had some of the bingo cards that people have been sharing. But maybe the grass is always greener on the other side. :D Congrats to all of the tripple bingos out there!!
Actually congrats to all bingos, single and double in addition to triple!
Agreed but I suspect that is intentional to offset the limited number of prizes small hoods can get as regular prizes. The bingo sort of evens it out for effort.
As for them not being equal, you don't really know how many tasks folks had to trash to get any of those easier tasks. It doesn't matter how simple the task is if you never see it pop up as a task.
Solo player.
I got a Triple Bingo & came 5th. Top 4 all did 10x320 and likely didn’t do the Bingo aspect, or maybe one line - they finished really quickly.
Those of you saying it’s easy doing it Solo, give it ago.
No one else trashing the board when you’re unable to be online working driving, sleeping.
No one else to share the slow tasks with (sheep, goats, strawberries...)
No one else to split same machine tasks with
No one else to make core ingredients
No one else to crop share with.
No one stop Townies
Doing all 10 tasks as Bingo tasks, no room to change your mind about which lines you’re going for once you’ve started, unlike big hoods needing less than 50% of their tasks.
Task board tied up with tasks you can’t start, so not able to get as many new tasks as hoods where tasks can be taken leaving a free spot.
...and that’s just off the top of my head.
I’ve been in a big hood, I understand the difficulties, I’m not saying it’s easy, but I’m getting annoyed with bigger hoods saying Solo players have it easy. We don’t.
...as for it making up for not getting all the horseshoes every week, not really no. I get 4 horseshoes per week. I do 10x320/400 tasks every week (except Bingo where I’m forced to take lower points) but get HALF the rewards players in big hood get doing fewer tasks and/or fewer points. It’s an unnecessary penalty against players who chose to play solo - but that’s really for another thread.
I don’t mean to be argumentative, and I do understand how hard (sometimes impossible) the bingo derbies are for large hoods. But I’m concerned about multiple posts here saying that small/solo hoods have it easier—because SC may read this thread and make adjustments accordingly. (There’s a precedent for this. After reading all our comments about the first bingo derby, Nick posted that they made some changes because some hoods had it too hard and some had it too easy. His comments are in post #4 in this thread: https://forum.supercell.com/showthre...oints-Derby%21). So, as a solo player, I want to point out some of the ways that smaller hoods are at a disadvantage. I’m not saying we have it harder than large hoods—just that there are disadvantages for all sized hoods.
As a solo player, one big disadvantage is that in order to get a triple bingo, I have to be in the CL, I have to pay diamonds for the 10th task, and all 10 tasks have to be bingo tasks. Larger hoods have more people working on the 10 tasks needed for a triple bingo, so they don’t have to be in the CL and don’t have to buy a 10th task.
Also, to use your example of a hood with 27 people where you need 9-10 of each task, that means you need a total of 90-100 tasks to get a triple bingo. That’s only 3-4 bingo tasks per person (compared to my 10). I’m not saying it’s easy—or even possible—to get that many of the right tasks to come up on your board. But that part isn’t easy for solo/small hoods either, given the rarity of many of the bingo tasks and the low appearance rate for them on the task board. Out of the 3 bingo derbies so far, there was only one where I was able to get more than a single bingo—and I struggled for every bingo line in every derby.
Another disadvantage for solo players is that we have to choose between doing bingo lines and getting a trophy. In every derby there are always at least 3 players going for perfect scores, so if I decide to take any bingo tasks of fewer than 320 points, I’m giving up any hope of a trophy. On the other hand, a couple of people in larger hoods posted in this thread that they got 3 bingo lines AND a trophy—and one of them took first place. The way the bingo derbies have been set up so far, I can’t imagine a solo player getting a triple bingo AND first place.
Again, I’m not saying that small/solo hoods have it harder than larger ones. I’m just trying to balance the comments about how large hoods are at a disadvantage. I think the truth is that getting bingos—especially double or triple ones—is often impossible for hoods of all sizes, because most of the bingo cards have too many rare tasks, and SC hasn’t programmed those tasks to appear often enough on the task boards. The larger NHs have a problem when they have to complete several of a rare task—and they don’t get enough of that task. I have a similar problem playing solo when I need to complete one of each task, and some of the tasks never appear at all. (That happened to me in the first two derbies.)
I’m sure others will disagree with this, but I don’t think hood size is the biggest issue here. I think the main issues are the often-impossible bingo cards and the programming that doesn’t give us enough of the needed tasks. And those problems affect all hoods, regardless of size.
We got three lines but it was not easy. Three people opted in but one task only appeared at the end.
I agree that perhaps the biggest issue, regardless of hood size, is of tasks simply not appearing - it doesn’t matter how easy the task is if it never shows up.
It sounds like playing bingo derby in a solo hood has its unique challenges, many of which I hadn’t thougth about, especially If one’s goal is to get triple bingo and also place in the top 3. Or as mentioned by LuvHayDay, it can still be a challenge to just get one bingo line in a solo hood. My goal is just to get any bingo line to go towards the achievement. I haven’t tried bingo derby as a solo hood, but can compare my experience in my large main hood with that of my baby farm in a small hood. My baby farm is in a hood of 2 people, and getting a single line in bingo derby with 2 players is a completely different experience compared to with 27 players.
