What do you guys think? Realistically I only think i'd be able to do level 9 walls if I leave a builder free. Would it be worth it to slow my progress defensively just for the walls? Thanks in advance.

YESSS!!!! I am a max TH8(everything), just about to hit TH9 in a few days. I am planning on putting 4 of my builders to work where as I will leave the 5th one open, but at the same time not wasting time. What you should do with the fifth one is complete short upgrades so you don't max out you gold storage and not be able to upgrade your walls.Quote:

Now, there is no rush at all of finishing TH9 to head to TH10. Th10 is much more difficult to farm. You need to get them walls up and AQ/BK.
Those 2 things are lacking from most players.

if you care about walls, and are able to farm alot, then do your walls. At th10, few seriously farms walls due to the inefficient nature of it. Now that might change if SC ever decides to drop upgrades to additional Tier 1 units so that TH10 are able to farm th9 efficiently...
I think that lvl 9 walls are worth it, because they can take 2 Level 5 wbs and 1 raged lvl 5 isn't enough either. I am doing them myself with a free worker. This is why the Upgrades take too long and I'd have 8 mill Gold while waiting for my Upgrades to finish up.
Dont listen to other people they dont know what they are talking about, sayin that lvl9 walls will do much better is just nonsens, it takes 3 wallbreakers to get through one lay. The cost of one is expensive(not much but when it comes to your defense i wouldnt do it) Maybe it will slow down the troops a bit, but its not worth it (now when i look at your defense). Anyway, my setup looks somehow like yours, if i were you i would save up for 2 xbows, and upgrade them to lvl 2. After that you can do the wall upgrade and defense together. The xbows in the core obviously..
