Love the min/max, Hate the no-ad default

Min/max button is wonderful, what a lovely surprise (although why there are two sets of price change buttons, one inoperable, is anyone's guess). :)

I can't love the no-ad default. I sat for a long time wondering why no one was helping my boat. I think the no ad default may dry up the DD, and may also cause us to lose out on the candy cane swing since the helps will be hard to come by when people aren't advertising stuff. Currently we're sitting on 1.6M helps on a 90M goal, 7 hours into a 96 hour event. said diffently, we've made approx 1.6% progress where we should already be at approx 7%.

Thoughts? Do you guys like or dislike the no-ad default?

That's unfair, the event literally only started when the update launched!

I think it might be a bit of a learning process for many players and I hope that won't affect the event too much:unsure: I think it's something people will get used to quickly though :) I don't really mind much either way.

I think it will take some getting used to, but this is something I've longed for ever since the nh update. There's nothing worse than putting something in your shop for a neighbor just as you realize you forgot to disable the ad! lol
I rarely run an ad anyway, so this is a good change for me. :)

Oh is that true? I only woke up to an update being available so I assumed it was there for a while and the event had been going.

Regardless, the event shows 3 days, 17 hours left.... so you mean it's only a 3.75 day event then?

I agree, love the min-max, don't love the no ad default. However, many people have been begging for that very feature, so you can't please everyone. We'll get used to it.

I did not have that experience. If I tap on the gray button, nothing happens. I have to tap on the little newspaper first. You get a green check mark and the button lights up.

Move or Delete the new "All" Town Hall tab

I don't see the benefit of the new "All" tab in the Town Hall, but at a minimum please move it so that the "Idle" tab is the default. With the "All" tab as the default, I now have to tap the "Idle" tab every time I want to send an idle visitor to a service building. This extra step slows down the game and is annoying.

It is a tap. One. Singular. Tap. That's all you need to still advertise everything you want to advertise. Nothing else changed other than it's not the default.

I love it all! We've been asking for the no ad default for years! They finally listened...so grateful!

I agree that the Idle tab in town should be moved over to the right.

I prefer that it be no ad by default. Also love the min/max buttons. These RSS changes were a long time coming.

”All” tab being default in town, on the other hand.... thumbs down.

Love the no-ad default. Having to click off every item uploaded to avoid advertising the first item added to the rss was irritating. The min-max buttons are a nice addition as well

I love’em both!
When I’m sending items to my mini farm or visa versa it’s great to not have to uncheck every box.
And although I sell quite a bit in my shop I like to load the shop before advertising.
And the min and max buttons. Awesome!
My favourite part of the whole update!

Can anyone tell me how this works please.
I''m a solo player so rely on DD to see most of the Help requests I do.
I do have some followers/followed folk that I help, but not enough to complete tasks.
Does the RSS have any effect on the Help requests being displayed in the DD? Usually I find loads of Help wanted when someone places an Ad. If you now say No Ad, does this also stop the Helps from being shown?
Since this new No Ad feature, I am finding there is only one maybe two Help requests shown in one complete refresh or the newspaper.
Finding it very difficult to contribute to the Help Task currently running.
Any help appreciated and no pun intended :) Thanks

Ads are scares in the DD at the moment. Looks like a lot of ppl haven't realised that we have to check the create ad box for the ad to show up in the paper, rather than uncheck it to prevent ads from being created

I think maybe so many people rummaging through the dd to fill peoples help request for the event could very well be effecting how many helps we are seeing in the dd. The only help requests that won't show up in the future are requests that people didn't intend to send anyway. I think once the event is over and people get used to checking that box to get their items advertised, we will see normal amounts of help requests.

Its quite simple really. Up until today placing an ad was the default. If you wanted to put something in your shop but didn’t want to place an ad on it you had to uncheck the green check mark.
Now NOT placing an ad is the default. You can still place an ad. You just have to check the “place ad” icon.
Not that much has changed. You can still place ads as often as you used to.

My guess is that the overload of rustic bouquet ads is in part to blame for the shortage of help flags. Many of them are bound to be old ads and any help request that may have been placed on them has already been filled. Given that they make up for the largest majority of ads in the paper there won’t be many help flags left.

Yup. The event was delayed because of the update. :)

Aha! That's fantastic then - we should make the goal easily at this pace then.

In that case, I'm fine with the no-max default. I was just concerned with potential impact to DD, but seems like it might be fine. and selfishly it benefits me because I rarely place ads and usually just trade, sell to friends, or transfer between my farms. :blush:

I like it mostly because when I fill up my RSS I like to advertise AFTER i've filled it, and all that tapping to uncheck was annoying!

I sometimes trade, but I didn't mind unchecking the ad while trading. However, I hated it because of what EllunaHellen said below:

It will also help when I sell some BEMS to hoodies, I now don't have to fear the accidental ad! (I don't believe I've ever done it, but I always get scared I will :P)

I was happy with the update on this feature as well. My intended recipients of goods no longer have to wonder if I left them and went to bed when I was actually holding down the decrease price waiting to get it down to one coin!

I fail to see how the 'help sign' will be reduced because of that button...
it's not like people automatically advertise stuff as soon as they open their boat.

i NEVER asvertise anything when i revive trees and only do when it's a boat...

i'm also a wheater so the new default is a life saver because when i sell 120 pieces of wheat every 2 minutes its a hassle to unadvertise each one until the very last one...

to me the checking the check box before doing anything is as obvious as putting on shoes before going outside. I'm actually shocked people need to 'learn' that...

I dont really care about min/max, what I really would like is if I'm - say - filling my shop with parsnips (standard price 100 for 10) and I put them up at 300. When I go to put 10 in the next box the starting price is 300. If I put 5 in the box it prices them at 150.
This is more useful than min/max since you only set the price on the first box, then each additional box goes up at the same item price without fiddling.

Yes. I have been saying this for ages. Default to 'last sold at' price would be better. Then the buttons could have stayed the same as before as well.

I love this new feature. Everything about it. I'm loading my stand now on a regular basis. I just tap and go. So easy.

Double love the min max buttons. So quick now to sell assorted town junk. Loathe the ‘all’ tab’s position in the town. It needs to be at or near the end. ‘Idle’ tab needs to be first. Love the change to make ‘no advertisement’ the default. Saves errors. Just have to remember to choose to have an ad when hoping for boat help. Fix the ‘all’ tab position and you’ll complete a trifecta of good changes, HayDay!

I'm loving it! I don't ad anything until I'm done loading my stand... and usually that takes a bit, but now with the new min/max buttons and the default no ad button I'm enjoying my time even more that it's not being used to max increase something every... single... time. Lol.
