Pick a number, for example, 218. That means you should have 218 icons in your friend bar to unlock the bin. If you have less (let's say 200), then you will see "Need 18 more friends to unlock)". By the way, what I got is from 1 year ago and could have been changed. Just wanted to share.

EDIt: my friends are gone, there are Greg + 3 followed farms = need 215 new friends -> total 219 required. (17 bins now, included at least 1 with diamonds)

So your understanding is that you need 518 total friends for 18 bins...each additional bin asking for a portion of that 518 in order to be earned. I'm not seeing that. I'm seeing each bin requiring an entirely separate number to be added with no total amount having anything to do with it. The feedback I got from technical support rather confirms that, but then, she really didn't have a complete grasp on what the situation was.

I do so hope that your conclusion is the correct one and I'm completely off base. Tech Support never hinted at this being the way Still, for me personally, even if you are (hopefully) right, I'm not going to even attempt 518 friends. If I make that number just as I flow along, fine, but I'm no longer struggling for it.
