Well, farming is usually better at the lower town halls. However, on both of my bases I rushed slightly to th7 for the extra troop space, and now on my second account I am almost completely maxed, so it really doesn't hurt.

Max out, the loot penalty starts to hurt as you upgrade TH. loot better at TH6 provided you can stay in the right league.... I know its boring as you want those extra toys from th7. For example, maybe dont max anything with Dark elixir as farming that easier with th7 defenses etc.... (or maybe this applies to the th7 to th8 upgrade?)
if ur nearly maxed i suggest u move on cuz it is slightly difference with 2 of them
Go on to TH 7. TH 6 is lame, and TH 7 is epic. That's when maxing starts becoming at least a little important.
For both my minis, I just maxed all my army camps and troops, and went all the way to TH7.
The level boost + extra army camps = farming heaven.
So don't bother camping anywhere below that.

TH7 is the best level for farming.
You would have powerful troops, so you can raid those TH 8 and 9, even TH 10.

TH 7 gives you an extra barrack and army camp, along with an additional mortar. TH 6 offers very little in the way of new stuff, so just doing the essentials (max splash, max army camps, max farming troops) is all that is really necessary. With greatly superior offense and much better defenses, TH 7 just makes your life easier.Quote:

Always max out. My friend is a premature TH8 and is doing terrible.
TH7 offers so many new goodies including the new mortar and army camp. That is why rushing to TH7 is actually a good idea. I was a level 37 and 39 TH7 on my accounts and it was extremely easy to recover. My second account is almost maxed out, and my first account is a TH9. The 65 troop space, extra mortar and air defense really are worth rushing.

I would go to TH7 right now...and as soon as you max lab at TH7 go to 8...provided you have been doing whatever you could with the builders and walls to that point. The real bottleneck to fully maxing TH8 is the Lab, and as has been said, even a premature TH8 can farm their way out of it NO PROBLEM.
Even if you trophy hunt at TH7 or 8..it's the strength of your troops that will take you higher not defences. I will say that I maxed TH7, AND 8, except I didn't max lab at 8 because coming in there as a maxed 7 I had all my skull walls and fully maxed everything else (5 builders, one lab do the math) including barracks and BK and still had lab upgrades of more than a month...so I just went to 9.
