LOL Helen. I can picture you putt putting around your farm, dragging those awful flowers SC decorated the BRT with and a bunch of Gnome tax collectors running behind it.

Oh gosh, I am quite overcome! A BRT is one of the few decorations that I really covet! To dear Besta and everyone else who has sent such kind wishes, thank you so very very much. My greatest need when reading this thread and my private messages today was a large box of tissues! I am so pleased that the Smiley Thread has taken off. Its' 'roller-coaster' path at the moment (following the Facebook announcement) needs a fair bit of monitoring, and of course it would coincide with a tough time for me healthwise. So if any of you old-hands can spare the time to drop in and help Gymgirl, Knitgal, Perky and others to keep it on the straight and narrow, I would be so grateful.
For me 'Paying it Forward' has a different context. On Christmas Eve 2011 I was finally diagnosed with ALS/MND. About a year ago my daughter left her new iPad with me because I was becoming increasingly disabled and could not occupy my time easily. I had been an extremely fit and busy person whose only experience of computer games had been playing on Sega with my young daughter 20 years ago. she had a couple of word games downloaded so I played those but it was ages before I realised that there were so many others available. I chose a spin-off from a Stone Age Family film which had a very one dimensional forum. Someone on that forum recommended Hay Day, and thinking 'this sounds a bit soppy' I downloaded it. The rest is history. Instead of waking in the morning and feeling sorry for myself, I started waking up and thinking 'my cows need milking', 'Tom needs to go off on an errand', 'my cakes are burning!'. I was such a Dumbo when I first started playing that it took me over a week to realise I was interacting with real people, not just computer generated virtual people. Then I discovered the forum. It was all a very steep learning curve for me, my days had changed from a busy outdoor life looking after my geese, ducks chickens, dogs, cats, sick and injured waifs and strays (from local animal charity) to looking after my virtual farm, which has been great fun, but nothing compared to the experience of meeting amazing people from all over the world on this forum. I simply cannot put into words what I would done without you all, and how you have restored my faith in human nature.
So the Smiley Thread had to be something I could give back as a thank you to Hay Day and to all the people who play. Something that could stand on its own two feet, run around, and make friends. Who knows, maybe one day it will grow up to be a 'sticky'!
Congratulations Woozle! I completely agree with everyone :) You're an amazing friend and neighbour, so kind and thoughtful. I also consider myself lucky to know her :)
What a difficult diagnosis.
Finding a game with such positive and friendly interaction is certainly enjoyable. No doubt the activities you were doing previously gave you and people and animals all much richness.
Since you have found Hay Day this community has appreciation for your wonderful humor, sharing, good ideas and initiative. We are enriched by you and each other.
May positive healing energy come your way.
Congratulations and many thanks to Woozle!
I think SC should give her a BRT AND a nifty packet of diamonds.
My whole hearted CONGRATULATIONS! goes out to you Woozle.
You are one the few friends that I started with when I began my HD journey. Back then, I remember thinking that you "high levelers" were so awesome and amazing. To all my persistent and addicted HD friends and neighbors, I still think of you that way.
I'm not on the forum too often these days, but I've seen your thread and the good that it's spreading throughout the HD community. Good job!!!
POOH
Yes on top of all of these things Woozle (& Worm) have started a dangerous sports club on C of C.
We have the Giants sprint which comprises of putting one Archer in an out of the way location, waiting for the Clan Giants to come rushing out to deal with the intruder. You then quickly move the curser to the far side of the boundary & drop another Archer, as the Giants arrive here you move again to the opposite side of the field, keep this up for the next 2 1/2 minutes and see how far you can get them to run.
Next is Barbarian King baiting, similar to Giants sprint except that when you get bored you see just how many archers it takes to bring him to his knees with stars spinning round his head. Why is this a dangerous sport? try it and see how much is left of your Village when you log back on in the morning!
Thanks for the laughter Woozle
You are a wonderful example of generosity and how to tackle adversity. I am in awe of you.
It is lovely to be able to help you - even if I do sometimes wake up in the night and think 'oh should I get up and check the thread!!' WindSong has been fantastic too and all in all it is a privilege to be involved here with you.:)
