When i have to opt outfrom derby, i find it very difficult to help my hoodmembers because i can't see the actual tasks they are doing in derby. I ask in Neighbourhood chat, but our members are from all over the world so i never can reach all the members at the same time or same day. Especially with townie task i'm afraid to pick townies while a hoodmember need them. When i'm opted in for derby i can always check their tasks, but opted out i can not check accurate and i find that disturbing.

Since the derby is matched by the number opted in, regardless of the size of the hood, there should be no easy way for opted out members to help. The number of opted out members is already an advantage, no need to increase it.
I don't honestly think it's about gaining an advantage from opted out members, more about keeping them included in the team. As leader of my hood I have only opted out of 2 derbies in 3 years, and the experience has been one of feeling somewhat isolated from the team effort. We have good comms within and without the game, but being unable to see what's going on if you're opted out in a derby hood, was not a lot of fun.Quote:

There is a small disadvantage to have opt-out players playing as it is now , It is not a big problem but a disadvantage ,
And as mdcfc say the opt-out players would feel more like they are in the team , It is a problem that opt-outs cant see and dont know what the ones playing the Derby do and talk abut ,
I agree. Especially playing Solo, other teams with opted out players helping makes it difficult enough for us genuine solo players, no need to make it even easier for them.Quote:

so they take trees and buches put out for Derby players , In my team atleast that is a disadvantage ,
Regarding boat help is it this way that the Derby players help the opt-out players more then the other way around ,
If you have opt-out player they normally have a good reason to be that , work , babys , travel ,,,,,, or simply time shortcoming ,
It no advantage to have them in the team but no big disadvantage .
But SmallChange To force players , That just give birth , have some one that dead in the family , or samething to play the Derby or get thrown out of the team is NOT NICE ,
So in LBF we take the small disadvantage , And I think that is one of the reasons we have so loyal players ,
Usually there is a reason that a player opts-out, and that reason, I would think, would mean that they cannot or are not expecting to be able to be on the game and playing. In which case, there is no real reason for them to see the task board.
My suggestion would be to simply ask players to NOT water any trees or bushes, to HELP with filling boat crates, and to ask in group chat if they can pick up townies. Or in the case of townies, they can work their own townies or simply put them out for others to pick up.
The last suggestion is for the opted-out player is to offer goods, like butter, cream, sugars, etc using the group chat, that other may need to complete a task.
If your NH is quite chatty, a player should announce that they are on, and ask if there is something they should avoid doing. If you aren’t chatty, if you are marking for water, at least use the chat for that.
Our NH uses the notice board to post tasks that are being prepped. Since there are only 3 notices, we piggyback multiple preps in one post. (All opt-in members are co-leaders and can post.) I opt out and can’t see the board, but they will post if someone is gathering particular townies that I can save up for them, or if someone is doing a help task, or needs mining tools. I check the notice board to see if I should avoid filling helps.
It’s inconvenient not to know what everyone is doing without them posting their tasks, but I agree with those who feel that opt out means out. It should not be any easier for me to help my neighbors than it already is.

I can understand members who may be busy that opted out would like to be able to assist a little more when they have time - but that gives bigger hoods with lower opted in members a greater advantage to smaller ones.
It's probably best that we just accept if we are opted out, we are out and can do little to help. If you want to help, opt in.
As Momscar said you can always use your chat feature to help a little more depending on how your hood operates.
I personally think the way it is now is fine.
I agree with this because this game is about having fün and helping our Team mates

We have all members active in derby, but I cant pay attention to all 27 people and what theyre doing. So if they need help with something, we use the chat. That works well. I dont see the need for non derby players to see the board. If they want to help, they should join in the derby fun! :D
If I opt in for Derby, i have to be sure that i have time enough to finish all tasks. I can't opt in and just fool around, that is not nice for the other hoodmembers.Quote:

As a working mom with a busy family life there are limitations in time.
The chat is limited till 99 chats, and when my hood is chatty the chats are going very fast, i sometimes can't read back for longer than 30 minutes. Our members are in different timezones, that's another limitation. That's why chat won't work good enough for me.
Just a simple view in the clubhouse where i can see the actual tasks my hoodmembers are doing would be perfect, just a suggestion ;-)
I feel this would be quite helpful for the help and town tasks! When I'm opted out I never know whether I should revive the other person's trees/bushes and its tedious to ask lol.
Plus I'll know which town people to not pick up from the nh.
But it's not like we're dying without it :p
Most of us are busy, most of us play with a sense of responsibility towards our team members & most of us have to decide whether we have time to opt in or not. None of those are reasons to be given an advantage over other teams in the Derby.Quote:

All the chats are limited to 99, lots of hoods are very chatty & lots of hoods have people in different time zones...there’s nothing unique there. SC have already made it easier for hoods with opted out players to be helped by them in introducing sticky messages.

The fact that as a non counted player (as you are not opted in) it’s harder to help is the point isn’t it. Gaining an even greater advantage over teams with players who don’t have non counted players (everyone opted in) would be even more unfair.Quote:

And 1 more question. I dont mind other people helping, cause Im in a big NH, but I read here that smaller hoods feel like its a disadvantage. I wonder how you feel about that. Why do you want to help your derby players if that technically makes the game more unbalanced?
That last question is for everybody who think this idea is a good idea.
When I opt out, my hood does not demand any help from me, i just want to help them because they are all very nice people and i have a lot off fun with them with or without derby.
So if my idea is a no go for the Hayday team, i will just stay in my hood ❤️
I don't need to be privileged because i'm in a big hood with members in different timezones and offcourse i know there is a great difference in hoodcompositions, i just make a suggestion which increase my fun in Hayday.
But for the people who are afraid of a disadvantage, maybe we can ask Hayday to skip the possibility of using gems in derby too? (lol ;-))
