While the reduction in the loot bonus will reduce the number of TH7s zapping your TH9 DE store, I predict that the switch to elixir fuelled spells will increase the zapping from higher level farmers who don't otherwise use spells and have an excess of elixir.
the answer is simple - keep the lightning spell as the only gold-costing spell while the others switch to elixir.
Even if DE lightning did increase, at least it won't be attached with an absurd loot bonus which will make the tactic less appealing to some. The value of levelling up the DE storage for more HP will be felt a bit more.
And when the spell boost ends it will still take 30m a spell.
So I think overall it won't increase, nor decrease. And when we get hit the loot bonus won't impact us at hall 9 or 10 so much.
Partly right - the loot bonus will be less but the number and level of the spells hitting you from higher level players will increase instead. Time will tell. I think that the one positive aspect is that these people can at least be revenged.
This most likely only happens to farmers.
certainly more so - I know plenty of people who DE farm at Crystal 2/3 so we will see more zapping there than currently, as they don't get the TH7s
I was zapped by a preemie TH9 on revenge at TH7. People don't do it for the loot bonus. They do it because they cant raid properly and with spells costing elixir, which is worthless below Crystal II, zaps will surely increase.
Loot bonus reduction won't help. TH8s zap my storage whenever I get more than 20k DE.
Maybe they should just reduce the health of DE storages again. Let the zappers run free...
Not to sure i think it will stay the same as if someone wants to zap my de they will always use all of them but only time will tell

Today I got hit by 4 lightening spells by a fellow TH9. Attacked with 10 hogs, 20 minions, 3 drags, 35 archers and goblins as filler. Except for the dragons - all under leveled.
I'm not mad though because the moron could of gotten all of my loot if he just used those spells with some brains. If he had a few healing spells, smart deployment, a just a wee bit of luck he would of gotten 1900 instead of 1000 (though I do find it annoying he could steal that much DE by dropping the spells.....)
I won't deny it, I have upped my spell factory in my TH10 upgrade plans as a result, and I will zap when it makes sense, though there is a lot to spend elixir on at first - camps are more important than a bit of extra DE. I tend to save zapping for revenge - they had the audacity to attack me, after all ;)
An even simpler answer is just to raise your trophies slightly to around 1,600. Not many lightnings there.Quote:

Im a TH9 in Masters III and even ill lightning a full level 6 DE pump. You can get about 500 i think. Never worth it on a storage.

As soon as I hit gold 1, 2 zappers (500 DE and 800 DE).
I revenged both and got back what they took. But still, the difference between gold 1 and crystal 3 is clear
Can't wait for the spell boost reduction to end. I have to upgrade my golems. I'll have my maxed DE storage tonight for what it's worth
For now, crystal leage is the safe-zone for no zaps. But we'll see this change most likely when the update rolls in. High trophy farmers would need to adjust their trophy range again.Quote:

I don't see anything changing. The presumption, here on the forums, is that literally everyone who plays CoC reads and understands the updates as posted here or in the update notes.
Let's face it, the vast majority of players will get the update, not read any of it, zap some DE, and if they are paying any attention at all might notice a decrease in the amount they receive but it won't matter to them in the least.
DE zapping is a Troll move and Trolls will continue zapping DE until they make a serious effort to protect it from these mouth breathers.
Edit: And seriously that was the most poorly written paragraph I have seen SuperCell write regarding an update. I had to read it several times just to wrap my head around it. Reminds me of all the times they say an event runs from Friday through Monday and it ends on Sunday.

what a TH9 can take from a TH7 is not changing, I believe. From what has been stated, it is the TH7 who will be able to take less from the TH9, rather than the other way around. I really don't mind people 2 or more TH levels below me taking what they can from my collectors, in fact I leave them full just so they can.
