What is the secret?!

This question goes out to all of you who are able to sell 5 bins of 10 stakes each, or 5 bins of 10 berry cakes each, and so on and so forth- HOW in the world do you do it?? I'm genuinely curious as I would LOVE to be able to amass such an impressive quantity of things to sell :D I mean, even if I kept my cake machine on literally 24 hours a day it would take me quite a while to acquire 50 berry cakes, and not only that but I've noticed some people who sell that amount more than once a day. So please, impart unto me your Hay Day wisdom/technique :cool: Any advice/info is appreciated! :o

if you are very active on your farm... like literally almost live in it, you get those expansion items pouring out from your farm whether you want it or not. I personally have reached a point where i would like my farm to stop giving me silo and land items...

when you have expanded your barn enough and the slots on your machine, you can queue alot at one go. you can also use tom to buy bulk, or if you really like berry cakes that much for example, you can just go to the DD and buy what people are selling then put on your own stand to sell to make it seems like you have an ungodly amount.

but mostly, just keep machine going non stop, and it will actually add up fast. thats how people do it, they also do rotation of items. make alot of 1 single item at one go, then when busy selling that item, the machine are busy making another type in bulk. that way you can sell alot.

It's an interesting question. I myself would love to know how one of my neighbors can sell 10's of every kind of tool, premium item, and animal products repeatedly through the day. He has dozens of bins and they're almost always full with hundreds of items. He must have followers that hover over his bins nonstop because in the 3 weeks since he friended me (though I don't know why because my store pales in comparison to his), I've only once managed to actually see available items in his store, and I watched and waited, and as soon as he'd add something (in multiple numbers), the bins would go gray. All sorts of wonderful things I'd love to have, land deeds, bolts, nails, the things that are difficult for me to find at times. Jewelry like crazy. Everything, it seems. He sold over 200 bacons yesterday and was at it again today. That's the kind of store stocking that seems unbelievable. I just wish I knew when he was going to stock it because I never see anything available in there. I don't get frustrated because it really seems to be just too good to be true.

It also seems to me that my farm gives me a lot of things I DON'T need. When I was expanding land and fishing, I could not get a deed to save my life. Now that I don't need them, they fly out of my crops and animals. Same with silo BEMS.

YES, this happens to me all the time. I seem to suddenly start harvesting items I've just purchased a ton of, meaning that since I just bought a bunch of whatever it is that I needed I don't need it anymore! But alas, I suddenly begin to harvest said item. EXCEPT for land deeds. I could purchase 10 land deeds and would still hardly ever harvest them. I hope the game gods know that I'm onto them.....

Thank you mzmflo, a lot of this certainly make sense, especially the part about just going to the DD and buying items just to put right back into your own store, which seems to be the only plausible explanation for being able to sell 50 berry cakes all at one time, two or three times a day....

This might just be me, but I only make berry cakes if my boat asks for them. I sure do wish I would see other types of cakes in the DD besides the oh-so-common berry cake :(

I "peeked" into the forum three weeks ago and now I have two obsessions. :rolleyes: I've read a lot of the threads and one thing that keeps getting referenced is additional farms on other iOS devices. I only have an iPad, my phone and computer are not Apple, so I can't open additional Hay Day accounts. This is one of the ways I think some of these players are getting so much product. I wish I could, there are so many ways to set up a farm.

I'm not at the level of have large numbers of multiples of complex items, but I now keep most of my machines running most of the day, if not all day. I end up with large numbers of animal feed while I feel like I sell all day long.

i plan long runs of my machines over night when I am sleeping - that's when I make syrup, cheese and feta cheese. Then during the day while at work I will set up another long run of items while I am at work. I do the short run items in th evening when I am home. Works well for me.

if you want to know how people get the expansion items read the "wheating" section in the guide book that is stuck up at the top of this forum. I see people with huge wheat fields, so they must get multiple expansion items per harvest. I'm not there yet . And then there is the question of what to do with all the wheat?

Maybe those people are just absurdly wealthy and they buy diamonds to speed everything up? Or they are the front person for a consortium? Or its a person with 10 iPads and 10 appleIDs who uses 9 of them as feeder farms? I don't know, I m just speculating.

I've only just discovered wheating (and "corning") and have to admit my tools have multiplied quite quickly. I sell the wheat and corn at default prices to get rid of it. It's quite satisfying, I have to say.

Oh and berry cakes...the market is so flooded with them, I never make them. I buy them along with corn bread, muffins and chili pop corn. Why clog my machines, when I can buy the stuff.

This is SO true! I was going through neighbor farmstands, wheating my fingers raw (haha), and going cross-eyed through the DD trying to find deeds before I finished my expansions. Now they are flying out of every machine and horse!

I run my machines nonstop. Quick producing items during the day and the slower ones at night. Even if I have 74 carrot juice I make more because I may have 150+ carrots in the silo. That's just an example. I can load the cake oven and not go back to it for more than a day. Sugar I keep 20+ of each and the same with anything from the dairy. The coffee kiosk is the only thing I don't run constantly. Then you wheat wheat wheat all day. Grow tomatoes (i have a dedicated 28 field area for them) and potatoes at night. Buy strawberries. They aren't worth the space they take up to grow. You seldom need them. Hope this helps.

Datedate, you asked exactly the same thing I've been wondering about. :) I just started the boat thing, and am wondering about the crazy amounts of products it's asking, and it requires a really big effort from me to keep up with the boat. And then too, it goes on the cost of the car orders and the roadside stand. But I still am a relatively low level player, on level 30. I have all the machines going nonstop whenever I can. But I don't have that big storage in the barn and silo, and it goes slowly to expand them, so I guess that is at least partly reason to my challenges to with this.

Your ideas are wonderful but what size are your barn and silo to cope with these amounts? Also could you please explain 'wheating'?

It's basically planting & harvesting lots & lots of wheat to increase your chances of getting expansion materials & tools. There's a guide all about it here. Happy harvesting. ;)

And there we have the big question. Besta answers in a whisper. barn 1700, silo 1550. However I just upgraded my barn in 10 levels twice what it was. Did you know if you tap the boat dock it will list what your next boat needs? Also that you can send a boat away? Just don't flag a crate or fill one of the crates. Click the boat symbol and then yes. Off that boat goes.

Same here! Before I increased my barn and silo last time, planks were everywhere - now I want to increase again they are far and few in between! I have everything else but the planks and it's driving me crazy! :rolleyes:

I think some people have support farms, where they make loads of items on but never do the boat orders and only enough truck orders to gradually level up (so that that farm can make better and better items.

This way they can have the support farm making a lot of those items too.

*** As for "helper farms*..... They are supposed to be against the rules. Some people play with family members and I know that helps.

if i were to get a helper farm, it would be purely for the sake of storing expansion items T_T

they take up so much space!!!

I am at level 63 and my barn is at 900

I basically play 24/7 and I can never seem to keep stock in my barn. It seems as soon as I get my stock up on a certain item then I will get 3-4 truck orders in a row asking for that item and *POOF* that item is depleted again.

I also have been perplexed how people can sell multiple premium items. I run my machines all day and night and my stock never seems to grow.

Having a helper farm is definitely one answer to that riddle.

My mom, who lives with me, has an iPad so I started a farm on hers to help supply me with dairy and sugar products. But after a week she got interested and there went my helper farm. LOL

I will let you all know that if you ever go to my RSS and see it full of items like corn bread, bacon & eggs, red berry cakes, etc, it is because about once every other day I will go the farms of my friends who are level 35 and below and buy out all those items to help them get coins. I then sell them for about 1/2 of default price to get them out of my barn.

I too am perplexed on how some people can sell an incredible amount of premium items several times a day, EVERY DAY. I know that some people must buy a whole bunch of items just to sell in their own store, but that would kind of take the fun out of it for me, plus I'm not going to go and buy every stake and mallet I can find just so I can sell 30 in my own store- I wouldn't make a profit for starters, and I would be buying items that other people might actually desperately need for the sole purpose of making my own store look better, but more importantly- I wouldn't be making a profit. So I dunno, to each their own I guess!

minten, I'm the same way! :) Even at level 43 with my machines running absolutely non-stop throughout the entire day it's still difficult for me to acquire such a huge inventory of any one item, especially considering my limited barn space! (sadly).

What I do instead is set myself a comfort level (it's 8 to 10 right now), so once I've made 10 popsicles I'll sell 2, or 10 chocolate cakes I'll sell 2, and so on and so forth, but I rarely sell 10 of any one item to begin with, let alone 30 or 40 of one item in 3 or 4 separate bins!

Bestajunior, thank you for the info! :) I may very well open up more production queues in my cake machine, pie machine, etc., but I don't like to make berry cakes, cornbread, or bacon and eggs, pretty much anything that the newspaper is already constantly flooded with. And goodness- you have 74 carrot juices??? WOW, that's impressive! ;) Is this because you wheat all day? And does that mean that wheat is the only thing you sell all day for the most part so you can just keep building your inventory?

That farm yesterday sold, in addition to dozens of other things, 31 bins with 7 bacon/eggs in EACH bin. Yes, I counted them. That's THIRTY ONE BINS. 217 bacon/eggs. And he's doing those kinds of numbers with other items today. Those weren't all his bins, just the ones in the back. The front 40 or so bins were full of premium items and tools. I just don't understand it. I check his store but almost NEVER see anything available (except the bacon/eggs, hundreds of bacons, etc.) None of the premium stuff. He must have a following like nobody's business.
