question about lavaloon attacks

how do you guys determine when its ok not to kill the enemy queen on an enemy base before attacking with lavaloons?

a lot of times, the queen messes up a raid because she takes down a lot of loons and the lava + pups. in a few youtube vids, some people attack using lavaloon without killing the queen first and they gat 3 stars. is there more luck than skill in a lavaloon attack? in some of those youtube lavaloon raids, the loons luckily take out the queen standing next to a def but that sort of situation rarely happens when i attack.

also some people in global claim there is no need to take out and lure enemy cc using lavaloon attack. they claim the pups will do the job. is this true?

Skeleton spell is greatly helpful for this purpose, especially if used in conjunction with rage.

Ya pups take out the enemy queen if enraged and queen is distracted by lava or ya its really a problem because if there no other lava left �� queen takes out pups and loons
