The explanation given in the update thread wasn't great, so we are really only to make some educated guesses on what exactly this means. The way I understand it is that you, as a TH 8, will get less loot from TH 10s than you do now, but still more than you can get from TH 9s. I think this only affects the loot you get from higher level THs, so you will be able to get the same amount off of TH 6s that you do now, but they will get slightly less off of you than they do now.
I believe it is to help out premmies not get wrecked
I am new to the game but that is how I read it - less loot for attacking town halls 2 or more levels higher than you as this is usually just a farming attack and not a serious attempt on the base. As an example - I am currently only at TH4 and almost maxed out, for some reason a TH6 attacked me and sniped my townhall - taking only 1k gold and elixir. This gave me the option of revenge - on viewing his base I saw an exposed storage behind some level 6 walls - so I loaded up on wallbreakers, a few barbarians and a load of goblins.
I got just over 100K from that revenge and used a very cheap set of level 2 troops - the loot penalty made it more than worth it for me to drop everything I had at the single storage.
I think the main reason for this change is to stop people from using lightning spells on DE storage against higher town hall levels - especially as spells are now looking like costing elixir and will be used more - not even got to spells yet but I am glad they will not drain my gold as I hve already noticed that the two 'currencies' of the game are not equally used.
Added to the level 6 gobs, it looks as if in this update Supercell is trying to make th10 a little easier to be in, which is a good thing, by all means.
The problem SC (rightly) wanted to fix was lightning on DE, especially vs TH10.
Their crazy solution is to reduce the loot % lower THs get vs higher TH
So now, a TH8 doing a conventional attack on a premmie TH10 will lose out.
SC should have fixed what they actually intended to fix, and made lightning not work on DE stores.
I have no personal axe to grind as I am a TH10 in Master league, and haven't had a lightning on DE since going Master. But I still think lightning on DE was a cheap move that needed stopping.
They aren't removing the bonus or anything, just lowering it to a more sane level. I applaud the decision.
What is the exact change in bonus?
you just had to raise that trophy count. People cried now those new players getting to TH7 won't get their oasis of looting
seriously DE lightening wasn't an issue if you just raise your trophy count
I like the desicion.... it will help with farming whichever way you look at it, right?
TH10 attacks TH8... more loot...
TH8 attacks TH10... more loot...
Presto. Lol
:mad:ok, Guys do u remember the last update, when they said that inactive bases will be hidden, well they made it more harder for farmers to farm, and now they are decreasing the loot bonus that we get from th10, what is next? increase the loot penalty, well this is totally unfair, I cant even upgrade a single wall now to lvl 8, i never find any loot, i have been searching for 2 hours now, already 500k gold spent on searching.
I think this loot update is also good to protect some noob th8s. Some of them try hard to reach a strong th10s resources and in the end nothing they can get but losing a whole army and spell costs.
You know what, this is not that big of a deal.
If a TH10 is farming in the range of a ton of TH8s, the TH10 should grow a pair and trophy up a bit.
And for the one strong TH8 who is living amongst the Crystal 3 TH10 farmers? Good on him/her, because they will be losing battles left and right every time they put their phone down.
You don't want your DE hit with light pots? Trophy up.
It is kind of needed, my little town hall 4 account was able to loot 400k gold from a town hall 7, as much as it helped out it is a bit ridiculous, that must've been half of his gold or something.
They are reducing loot, in what way is this good unless you are th9 - th10
no more 500k plus for a th8 against an abandoned th10
im upping to th9 now so this doesn't really effect me but it is obviously a ploy to get more gems out of us and they use the excuse that it is to stop de lightnings..... Lol
It really does seem like with this update supercell will only have the heavy gemmers to take the toplists.. The rest can just go and farm :-/
So lets kill those pigs for top trophy gaming.. Give them a gobling and less loot penalty instead.. Then whe have cleared the toplist for non gemmers and send them farming instead.. That's what this update says to me :-/
Um, in the update it says the loot multiplier for 2 or more levels lower TH will be reduced.
Loot MULTIPLIER, implying th8 attacking th10 would get less loot.
Th10 vs th8 would still get the same loot, as the other responder pointed out.
Therefore = less total loot to be raided, so actually a bad thing for total loot (but good news for premmies)
Adjusting loot PENALTIES would actually have a beneficial effect on the loot.
That's my spin on it, but I agree it is obscurely worded.:)
I see where Supercell is getting this, because with less of a loot penalty it is almost encouraging people to spend money to rush their town hall, but there will be no good raids now!
Loot used to be awesome and the game used to be possible to play without spending money on gems, but since the Heroes came, every update was costing hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, and it was only possible to get everything if you were rich in real life or spent all of your income on the game.
With this new addition, the chance of finding good bases will be much more difficult. Just this morning I spent 100,000 gold to find a good base, and I was barely able to profit.
On my lower level account that is a town hall 7, 75% of my loot comes from premature town halls 8-10, and I'm able to get huge amounts of money from their collectors. Supercell, are you saying my way I've played the game since I got it is wrong?
And what are town hall 10s to do with level 6 goblins? How come you get level 6 giants, which are unlocked later than goblins, at town hall 9? Town hall 10s aren't usually farmers, but town hall 9s could use them. Thanks,
jake webs
The lighting spell was designed to DAMAGE BUILDINGS AND TROOPS, you simply can't just make to do no damage on the storage... Thats like making a heal spell spell not heal. Also i'm betting this was more of a way to help premature THs not get squished by lower THs with the insane loot bonus not fix the lighting because just making the HP on the DE storage higher stopped a lot of lightning strikes
It is a good change
Thanks for deleting my critical post and thread header.....
The new loot penalty in my opinion is not great. All it does is encourages people to attack lower TH levels...
I normally attack THs that are same or higher level than me, as if its not hard enough to attack 2 levels up you get less in return. As a high end TH8, I love raiding TH10s even though I can't 1 or 2 star them at least I can get a decent amount of loot.
In the sneak peak thread, it says its unlikely that a TH that is two levels lower is unlikely to win so why reduced the loot penalty? it wouldn't make much difference. The difference would be that it prevents lower THs from attacking higher THs mines and collectors just for loot. With the recent maintenance change that has managed to reduced the amount of loot floating about, I can't really see the use for the level 6 goblins, as there's no gold to get at...
What I do see, is a lot of lower THs getting completely smashed. For a TH10, they don't need to pick off the mines and collectors on the outside of bases, they'll just have a mass load of wall breakers and goblins with the rage spell to do a wall breaker/goblin rush attack. Using rage spells wouldn't be an issue because Elixir will be plentiful.
When the new loot penalty comes into play and its no longer worth me raiding TH10s, then I'll start raiding lowers as it will be easy loot...
Can someone from SuperCell please explain this in detail? Please?
This potentially changes the landscape of lower halls abusing the loot bonus system significantly. If that is the intention I have only mass applause for it.
Hall 7 should not be attacking hall 9 anyway, as they can never truly win [bar premmies]. Anything to lower the incentive is good for the game in my opinion. Assuming that is what it will achieve. As hall 9 can only get bugger all off hall 7 making is not worthwhile.
Who cares about premie th10s
With as hard as it is to find loot in this game now anything they do to make it harder will destroy the game for good.No going back on this one folks. There are way to many people struggling to find loot. The game is at a breaking point. If the difficulty is increased for farming it is game over. Mark my words.
Im all for it. Now my new TH9 can crush TH7s once again for loot!
You are been ridiculous.
This will have moderate impact on halls 6 to 8 who take advantage of ludicrous loot bonuses to prey on premature hall 9 & 10 players. Or hall 9 & 10 players with uncollected pumps.
That is all. Players from hall 6 to 8 have no problems finding loot. This won't break the bank for them.
However it gives hall 9 & 10 players a little bit more protection. The ones who need it most due to insane search prices, army & upgrade prices.
While we don't know the specifics, it sounds like it's a good thing for the game. Lower halls don't need the loot bonus to survive.
to my understnding, loot penalty is still there. so th9 attcking th7 wont give u much anyway. its the th bonus thats being reduced. so a th7 attcking a th9 no longer gets 200%. actual figure, wait till update.
so lower ths, stop worrying abt higher ths raiding u. the loot penalty is still there.
As long as we don't know exact percentages this is pointless to discuss.
what I would like to see is the loot bonus/penalty apply only to stores and not to collectors. Yes, higher TH players might farm lower as a result but there would be no incentive for them to wipe out lower players, which would actually be a win for both parties. If a TH7 can wipe out a TH10 then good luck to them - they deserve 400k of each for doing it, in my opinion.
I have two TH 7 accounts that reached Crystal II. Almost made it to Crystal 1 but saw the sneak peak this weekend and started dropping on purpose. There is no reason for me to stay at that trophy level. I would rather beat up on TH 9 with a few less dragons if I can't steal everything due to loot reduction.
I take on solid TH 10 all the time with 8 drags, 20 Minions, and 3 lightning spells. I pass on active infernos unless they are close to the wall border. I also pass on THs that have all x bows pointed up.
/brag I just took over 200k of each and 3,000 + DE. That guy is going to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥. /brag
I get rolled by TH 10 revenge all the time. However, the only thing thy get from me is trophies.
I'm running a TH7 alt, and it's super easy to get loot, I only have to play about one night every couple of days, then wait for the upgrade(s) to complete. All the way to TH7, the loot bonus is one of the main reasons it's been so easy. Reducing this bonus is fine; for a player who knows what they are doing it's just too easy, really.
My main account is TH9, and I do not attack TH7. Not just because they don't have enough loot, but because it gives them a chance to revenge me for 300k+, which if they now what they are doing, is quite possible to get a decent amount of (my TH9 is pretty new - takes ages to upgrade). So reducing their bonus is fine; I still don't think I'll attack them and provoke revenge, and if they can find me in Crystal on their own then good on 'em.
I do wonder if this might have the undesirable effect of TH9-10 farmers attacking TH @ -2 more, I know when I was in Crysal as TH8 heaps of TH10 would hit me for only 100k of each, but I guess they were all resonably well upgraded and so usually not worth revenging... So maybe we'll see more TH9 and TH10 migrate down in cups, to find easy loot.
What lightning strikes? In your exchange to Yette (to which that post respond to), you were talking about general loot in various TH levels, and not specifically referring to DE.
To be honest, we still have no idea what the actual loot bonus numbers are. So I will reserve my judgement whether it is "reasonable" until they are known.
That is rubbish. I've said before I have a clan mate who purposely locks himself in Crystal leagues, town hall 8 and does several lightning only strikes all day long. I call him a DE noob for it but he just does it even more, he get's well over 1K DE every time with just lightning. While the lightning is just a supplement income to him using a farming army to snipe high level drills. He is making tonnes of DE at the moment. The loot bonus is making it much easier for him to use this method.
I have also been hit by DE lightning more then once above 1,800 before.
Has anyone considered that besides the potential limiting of dark elixir zapping (which I’m not totally sold on) perhaps this is one way to limit very low level TH players from TH sniping their way into an exaggeratedly high trophy range and profiting by just using the bonus?
I know there have been several posts here of very low TH’s up in Masters. At Masters III the loot bonus of 75,000 gold and elixir, plus 400 dark elixir, could be very substantial to a low level player. Maybe even enough to just sit there and snipe THs without farming at all.
Oh no doubt, I had a TH6 snipe my hall and pick off some of my pumps the other day in Gold I. It surprised the hell out of me, why is a TH6 up there? No other reason then to milk the loot bonus. Inactive pump raids for them are massively more profitable then they are for us higher halls.
As SC said, most of those attacks on much higher halls aren't 'proper' attacks anyway. It could be one more baby step in the right direction to restore some normality to the trophy ladder.
You must be the only one then... It rarely happens above 1800 as DE is easy accessible above 1800 without the need to zap, as you say you've been DE lightening more then once above 1800 which means your always below 1800 farming lower THs, so you deserved to be zapped!!
Anyway the thread is about loot penalty not about DE zapping....
BUMP
As a wise man once said "Dont attack the weaker people but attack the people of your own side as the weeker people more or less have to find easier ways to give payback to the cowardly stronger people" which means that if higher townhall people farm on lower town hall people (pussies doing this) they cant complain if lower town hall people starts to lightning the storages and snipe the cowardly unprotected town halls to get a little farm of the higher town hall people after getting three stared by them. Its a bad circle so no reason to discuss, stop dropping troophies, stop farm on lower townhalls, put your townhall under high protection = lightnings gone. If you dont wanna follow my advice here then go to forum just to complain about your own mistakes which led you to sad defences and make supercell follow your stupid tears just to make the life so much harder for those new players and weak players. Yeah you are a great person when you cry after the weaker man punched you back and your daddy protected you by punch the weak person back instead of you doing that yourself.
I'd say that the bigger and greedier people get the easier they start to cry and complain on others when they actually are the people who made them self cry by own mistakes.
Once again BuMP

What weird reason to necro a thread :/
Supercell is milking you players for every single dime they can from you. They promise better loot and lied. Now what most of us older players had, which was a great loot bonus when we were low levels that we all loved is being taken from you. Not to protect premises, no, it's to make more money in gems sales. Get a clue people. This game is like a jail and supercell is like big bubba and you are the little new scared inmate. Better hope they sell KY jelly lube at the canteen in the jail cause sc gonna bugger us good, hard and plenty. Greedy company!
