The Misconception About TH10 and Farming
It seems to me that there is a pretty decent misconception about TH10s and their inability to farm, so I thought I would branch out into another thread. Case in point, just today:

It may be difficult for premies with sub-level 5-6 troops to farm, but life as a TH10 is really not too shabby. In fact, it is quite the contrary! Remember that while upgrades are more expensive, they are also quite long!!!
Gold With 4, say, builders properly scattered and upgrades of 12-14 days costing 7mill+, it means having to get 7mill every 3 days. If a builder is on heroes all the time, then its 7 mill every 4 days. Is 1.75 mill gold a day doable? Any left over goes to wall. Sure you don't see the luscious, sumptuous, and tasty 400/400 much, but 250Kg+ is really not hard to find at right trophy range.
Elixir Elixir is honestly never a problem. Sure, there's the occasional 8mill research upgrade, but I actually relish it because we are usually oozing out elixir. So much so that we try to find ways to spend it (all wizard raids for fun).
DE Perhaps a tad more of an issue to keep up with the research/heroes, but if you tilt to hit bases with more DE and less gold a few times, its not a big deal.
Below is the result of my last day or so. I was feeling like some looning, as I got 6.5/6.0 and 1.5 days til builder. Tomorrow, maybe some GoWiPes to burn some elixir. Do the math on the gold, maybe 30 skips on average, a few spells. Honestly... farming at TH10 is pretty straightforward.
Important Key
- Craft Your Raiding Skillzz!! By the time you get to TH10, you need to know the game well. I'm nowhere close to a great raider, but I pay close attention to replays. I've read some great guides in forum. And I know exactly how much gold is in storage vs. mines with one archer pluck. (See guide links below)
- Skip!!! "Penny wise, Pound foolish." Its a sunk cost once you've skipped. Don't count. Just skip.
- Time your builders! Not even the best raider in the world can feed two builders 14 mill if they both come off the line at the same time.
- Keep TH way out!! Confucius said: "He who keeps townhall out loses far less resources than he who doesn't!". I think Euler proved the theorem a few hundred years ago.
Summary
There is no question that being a premie TH would stink. But with top troops, smart raiding, and a half-decent layout, farming enough to keep builders busy at TH10 is actually borderline easy/boring. I hope this helps.
