I'm a little disappointed in Tom

Shovels tend to "dig" out more from the mine than the TNT and dynamite exploding them out, thus, there is more opportunity for getting diamonds using the shovels. Plus, the TNT and dynamite may only provide 2-3 bits of ore, whereas, the shovel tends to provide 4-5 bits of ore, so you get more that way, too.

sure you can get TNT and dynomite... but shovels give you the most ore return.

I'm hoping to hire him for a 5-day stretch soon. I have NO shovels (or other mining items at this very moment) and no ore to smelt, either!

I'm thinking that I'll devote the first day entirely to shovels, then work on those items that take forever to produce or are tough to keep around...jams (starting with blackberry), rings, maybe some pies, and dairy items...until I have a tidy sum of each. Should also probably consider having him grab some BEM so I can upgrade my barn to hold all the goodies!

He won't find the expansion items, sadly. But I still manage to use him all the time for one reason or another.
