I'm a little disappointed in Tom

And here I thought Tom was a somewhat waste of diamonds. Love reading what you experts know - thanks for sharing! I especially love the idea of him bringing me shovels and then mining the diamonds to help pay for his services. I can see Tom in my near future for things like that...

I usually get Tom for the 5 day stretch. During that time I can earn an additional 200,000 coins, 200,000 XP, at least 5 or 6 diamonds - or more - and I can get more than 50 creams, butters, white and brown sugars, and several dozen jams stocked up. It usually sustains me for a couple weeks if I keep up with the creams and sugars and only do syrup and cheeses at night when I'm asleep.

Also one thing I've noticed: When I use Tom, teasure chests seem to appear more, and the DD seems to yield more productive goodies.

And at the end of the 5 days, I can usually have enough diamonds to hire Tom again at the discounted price he advertises (I think it's 54 diamonds for 5 days).

I'm looking forward to it. I have a feeling once I get the candy machine I'll put him to use given the time it takes to make some of the candy.

here's a good example: I used Tom to fetch jelly beans and he brought 9.

I just filled three truck orders - two called for 1 jellybean each and the third, 2 - and earned 1000 coins and 5000 XP

also, these really high XP ones only seem to appear when I have Tom and/or am able to sell one or two jellybeans or necklaces in a truck order. Jello bean truck orders almost always generate at least 700 XP, but when I have Tom, that seems to go up. I have no idea why... maybe because I have 9 or 10 jellybeans in reserve? (cause I would never have that if I don't use Tom to get them).

I'm not a high stakes player, so I don't know all the ins and outs of what generates what if you have what... I never buy coins or diamonds. I just wait for them


another trick I have learned, is to only fill truck orders where each premium item generates at least 100 XP, and each non premium item 50 XP. I usually don't even look at the cash count. It's the XP that matters to me in truck orders.

Some great advice regarding Tom! I used him once not too long ago, exclusively for shovels. I had also obtained some other mining items during the time I used Tom and once all was said and done, I got 14 diamonds out of it, so Tom actually cost me only 1 diamond (and I awoke every 2 hours during the night to use Tom to his fullest potential).

Once I get my candy machine, I will try to remember to have him find jelly beans for me, too, which I gather from this conversation is the item that takes the longest to make in the machine. ;)

I thought about using Tom for a 5-day stretch, but might need to make sure I would be able to be home each of those days (no errands, etc.), so I could use him to his fullest potential possible. ;)

yes 5 days is a commitment. Thankfully I have the iphone so i take it with me and log in as close to the 2 hour mark as I can when I am not at home.


So far, it's been 2 days of Tom and I have netted 150,000 XP. Not sure about the coins as I didn't keep an accurate count, and also I have been buying up all the building materials I can find to upgrade, which takes alot of coin, but I'd say I've made at least 100,000 coin.

I've also ammassed 30 or so syrup, cheese and feta, which means my sugar, cream and butter counts are up considerably

Lots of comments in this thread about sending Tom for shovels which can bring diamonds in the mine. No one mentions Tom fetching TNT and dynamite sticks. Don't they bring diamonds too? Guess I haven't paid that much attention because I can't really remember which item has brought me the most mine diamonds.
