I've been doing this with the evergreen trees for the last 6 months or so. I now have 26 evergreens on the rough grass. I cut down everything else, including evergreens even if the are only partially on the rough.
strategic placement of decorations will help speed this process along.
Should it be smart too make a full square base wich fills all the space? So all treed spawn on right place

It may not look like much, but they very rarely spawn flush to the edges, many poke out a little, if thats the case i have to chop them and wait for another to hopefully fill the gap.

I started doing this about a week ago, but letting anything grow on the outsides rather than just trees.
Some of us in our clan have been growing pines only. I have read u can have up to 40 trees so need another 12 or 13 to go.
