Yeah, it's not really critical, you know. Who really cares if certain people have been coerced into spending so they could go to bed on time, when they thought the upgrade would be ready before their bedtime anyway.

I don't really care if it gets fixed. I just want ATTENTION drawn to it so the PLAYERS IT IS AFFECTING are aware!!! You realize that Steve and the mods have the same opinion on literally every topic right? They work for SC, they're told what views they're allowed to express. If they violate those rules, they will lose their job. That's not speculation. That's how Public Relations in a business works. -Point is that authority figures agreeing and holding the same view on a topic doesn't really say anything about the issue.

The only thing left to do is to complain to appstore and/or playstore. Supercell may do anything they want with their software but it is still against the store guidelines of Apple and Google.

Again. You do not decide what the appropriate level of response or method SC takes to make this information available to the community.

I'm sure tons of people do not know about the bug I will not dispute that. Again it is not for you to decide that people must be made aware of a bug that does not threaten life or limb.

Have they unknowingly spent money to negate the effects? You betcha!
While SC may profit from this scenario that does not mean the bug exists for the purpose of SCs profit. I would say it does more to harm SC than it does to increase their profits. The argument could be made they are taking this hit in reputation to the chin in effort to keep updates rolling out.

Steve being the spokesperson for SC on this matter? Yeah I would say he has accurate and truthful information regarding this bug. You've said it yourself evidence does not exist to substantiate the claim SC is dishonest and is made with faulty analogies and speculation.

Approving of updates - do you think SC explicitly TELLS apple "hey guys there is this glitch where the times don't reflect reality?" I bet Apple isn't aware and/or gets paid off by SC (Kinda funny I saw Clash in the "best new games" section in the iOs App store. Clash isn't new. Boom beach was also there. I highly suspect SC is paying off apple for this additional advertising, as clash has infected every area of mobile advertising that exists. I digress, as that is once again for another thread.)

Kinda sad though. If Apple takes action, Apple also loses profit. Not all of the money from those IAP's goes to SC - Apple gets a chunk as well.

Intentions don't really matter when they are, in fact, still doing it. It's a myth that this would be difficult to fix from a programmer's perspective. As stated, other timers in the game such as shield are not affected. Hmmm... I wonder why? Maybe because it doesn't benefit SC to prolong the shield time? A simple fix would be to send packets to SC servers regarding WHEN THE UPGRADE STARTS so it will finish on time. NOT to send packets that tell how much time is left. I don't know what programming language is used to make CoC, but I have enough of a background in working with flash AS3 and SQL programming to know that this "bug" is absolutely ridiculous and they have obviously not even tried fixing it.

Clash of Clans is not "new." So why is it on the "Best new games" page? I have no issue with this if Apple actually makes that decision, but it doesn't fit the category. So,

I discussed this issue in depth with SC when I was over there, actually to be specific I discussed it while devouring a rather excellent Reindeer - so you could say because of this Christmas is going to be slightly different now Rudolph is dead - I hope you are feeling guilty :)

This is a REALLY difficult one to solve, basically whenever the base is disrupted by something like a defence or if you are attacking it messes with the timing, I can't go into any more detail partly because I didn't understand it fully (there was wine involved) and partly because it's not public knowledge how it works. What I suggested would be to look at the timing differential and then compensate - i.e. if on average it's causing the timer to end 10% too late then adjust the time by that % - it's not a perfect fix but it would ease people's pain a LOT.

They felt that was a good idea - but I'm not the one developing the game so I can't promise anything - but I can promise that next time i'm with them i'll be raising it.

I do promise you that it's not:

a) a conspiracy to make you buy gems
b) any of the other conspiracies

It's just a really tricky one that causes issues for those who notice it, and none whatsoever to those who don't.

Thank you for the response. This was getting a bit dramatic and I appreciate your lightheartedness. While I FULLY believe that you believe what you are saying, I believe that even you have been duped by the SC team. I understand wine can fog one's memory ;) but it seems to me that the SC team made up excuses to feed to the forumers - using you and other forum authority as a medium. They told you your idea was good how long ago? And have subsequently done nothing about it?

I'm not talking bad on you personally... I just don't trust any of the information. Sorry. I'm not going to trust anything about the topic until real action is taken other than "It's an unimportant outstanding bug, we'll maybe get to it eventually."

My experience of the bug? I DID notice my upgrades were finishing LATE at night. I sometimes thought to myself "well that was a 5 day upgrade, I don't remember staying up until 1 a.m. to start the upgrade 5 days ago?" I kinda..."felt" it, but never tested it. In nearly 4 months of playing I finally realize that my hunch is correct. Regardless of whether or not people are aware of it, EVERYONE is affected, as I know I have personally spent gems to finish upgrades so I could sleep (at least they were mostly free gems). I did this with no conscious recognition of the "timing bug," nor was I aware that I was spending gems to compensate for a bug.

I urge you to investigate the public relations in regard to this issue, as a feature that requires money that has a flaw like this could result in huge legal trouble for Supercell, since nothing IN-GAME mentions anything about this. Allowing this thread to exist in the forums is not adequate enough.

Thank you for taking this up with the team. I look forward to the follow-up. I urge you to personally critically analyze your meeting with the SC team.

They are not "doing" anything. It is not a myth that for SC to fix this it would be difficult. Who better to testify as to whether or not it is an easy fix than the people who wrote and understand the code behind the bug. You are talking about possibly changing the foundation of SCs code. You are also trying to use other companies who do not have this bug an an example that SC should not either. You need an example of a company who has gone through this exact or closely similar problem to infer by example that it is an easy fix.

Okay, just WOW.... The level of a lack of understanding you have about legal definitions.... Know what you're talking about before you try to present an argument.

2.2 - Exhibit - SC publicly "showing" this "bug" has nothing to do with the word exhibit. It means if the game itself has bugs in it. Exhibit in this case means, "the game exhibits a bug - the game has a bug which users experience."

2.3 - Advertise - This is not referring to the "HEY PLAY CLASH OF CLANS" banners, or whatever you have in your mind when you think of advertising. This refers to the game itself. The game "advertises" that a build will take 4 days yet it takes 4 days and some odd hours. Thus, the game does not perform "as advertised."

2.4 - You really contradicted yourself with this one. Your misunderstandings of your first two points say that the bug is NOT publicly shown, then you turn around and say that it IS publicly shown in this thread. A hidden feature includes....hmm - you guess it. Something about the game that is not described IN-GAME. - Build times taking longer.

My experience of the bug? I DID notice my upgrades were finishing LATE at night. I sometimes thought to myself "well that was a 5 day upgrade, I don't remember staying up until 1 a.m. to start the upgrade 5 days ago?" I kinda..."felt" it, but never tested it. In nearly 4 months of playing I finally realize that my hunch is correct. Regardless of whether or not people are aware of it, EVERYONE is affected, as I know I have personally spent gems to finish upgrades so I could sleep (at least they were mostly free gems). I did this with no conscious recognition of the "timing bug," nor was I aware that I was spending gems to compensate for a bug.

I urge you to investigate the public relations in regard to this issue, as a feature that requires money that has a flaw like this could result in huge legal trouble for Supercell, since nothing IN-GAME mentions anything about this. Allowing this thread to exist in the forums is not adequate enough.

Thank you for taking this up with the team. I look forward to the follow-up. I urge you to personally critically analyze your meeting with the SC team.

I had a well-thought out post concerning the fact the accumulation bug is clientside, and to fix it would need events not only logged at the initiation on the server, but enforced by server timekeeping, not clientside back on page 69 or 70-> Crickets.

I think it would be hilarious to see how fast Supercell fixed this bug if it had an opposite effect, i.e. the bug decreased upgrade times instead of increasing them. SC developers would be getting some overtime to say the least.

Exactly, there wouldn't be any "bug" if it was the other way round. But, it's "too difficult to solve", it would require "a whole update" for fixing it, OMG!! So you know what? Let us make a new game with the time lag (called Boom Beach) ! If SC can't fight the time lag, let SC embrace it! *facepalm

After countless petitions of renaming the thread (unsuccesfully obv.) it's quite clear now that by not wanting to change it, they are downplaying the effects of this "bug". You will see no mod will ever call the time lag by its name, but always "builder's bug", although its effects are presented in the second post of this thread!

We can only hope that Apple/Google finally enforce their developer guidelines, since the time lag is not following them. At the same time they are getting millions from SC, so there isn't much hope...

Also this threads predecessor was titled exactly the same. It was locked due to bad behaivior on behalf of the posters. This thread is titled exactly the same and was opened to give yall a place to discuss the bug. However little discussion happens and it has become a haven for ab hominem attacks against SC or attacks against those who hold a view point that differ from the majority of its current inhabitants. So I agree it should have a name change as the topic is rarely discussed.

The elixir exploit is a drop in a bucket compared to time lag bug, to the point they can't really be compared. Time is far more valuable than a small amount of elixir.

I haven't seen any ad hominem attacks vs. Supercell in this thread, you might want to research the meaning a little more carefully (you used at least 1 attack in your post though :rolleyes:).

It doesn't matter how much time people spend on the game, the time lag will affect them in a way that is directly proportionate to the time they spend playing. There's no away around it.

A player acquire anything in CoC free of charge, no purchase necessary.

I started my lvl 6 clan castle upgrade right after the latest update was released, as I had the gold saved up beforehand in anticipation of the new clan castle. If I remember correctly, the newest update was live around 1 PM PST 2 weeks ago, and I started my upgrade right away. It's now approximately 14 days and 5 hours since I started the upgrade, and there are still a few minutes remaining before it's done. Someone else in my clan who started their upgrade several hours after I did already finished their CC upgrade. feelsbadman

I haven't try to reproduce the bug, but I believe it exists if so many players are talking about it and can give demostrations.

However I think that it is widely mitigated by the fact that you can easly find free in-game gems.
Simply by pruning the plants or by completing easy tasks and from the last update with the gem's chests.

Two hours in gems are around 30-40 so not too much considering with pruning you can find even 5 gems per tree/bush/blah blah. Also I have notice that the more workers are busy the more plants keep to appear.

So, at the end of this two lines (BE AWARE my intent is NOT to start a FLAME but just give my 2c on the topic) is that the bug is not that bad. :o

Two hours in gem is 30-40, not much. True. But now multiply it by the number of barracks that train troops, the alchemist hut, spell factory, and all ongoing construction and you can easily reach several hundred gems. Now that's a lot.

I can't believe Supercell opened a thread about this, when we and them both know about this problem. They should just fix it....easy as that! Rant over :)

The latest entry as far as I know about this "bug" on this forum is October 2012.

If you check the update that was made by Supercell around this date, October 2012, it says something along the lines: "fixed weird bug which made shield times not being synced with build times" - which of course is a lie, because the time lag is still there.

I'm not even mentioning Supercell releasing a NEW game with the time lag incorporated, being fully aware of this issue.

So, they've been aware for at least 1.5 years, so please people don't come up with excuses.

The game would be dead. As we know they have been doing clan wars for months now. I am sure it will be fixed soon.

Yes, I think highly of the devs, what they do isn't easy, I'd like to see any member here go apply for a job at SC and fix the time lag bug.

It is really easy to be able to see that building, researching and upgrading timers are inflated. Anyone using ios can use their timer under clock application. Usually the time is up faster than our builders

If you don't log off for 60 minutes, visit any other clan/base in this 60 minutes, watch a replay in this 60 minutes, don't attack in this 60 minutes (all of these which I'm fairly sure the vast majority of the players ARE NOT doing) - then, they are accurate. So the production rates stated in the info screen are practically NEVER accurate.

My Clan Castle was scheduled for completion seven minutes before the end of prep time. When prep time was completed my Castle still had two minutes to go so I had a smaller Clan Castle than I should have.

I have read Supecell's responses here in which they claim that the bug is not a big deal. While this is true for casual players who do not track their upgrades, for those of us who upgrade on a schedule it is a massive headache. I would like to do my upgrades just before bed but if I do so within two upgrades it is past my bedtime when the builder is available. Now I have to go to sleep with full and very raidable storages and do my upgrades in the morning and slowly move them to the evening as the timing bug does its damage.

Finally, I am not a consumer lawyer but if you are shortening build times through the purchase of gems, supercell may be defrauding those purchasers by not giving those purchasers the full value of their purchase.

This company is very successful with brilliant technical staff. This should be a fix that they are capable of doing.

Wonder why no one has contacted an attorney? Sounds like a class action case to me-- exactly as stated supercell is selling time--if I purchase the upgrade with cash -- and the agreement is to provide me the upgrade in 5 days--however instead it's provided in 5.5 days with an option to pay more cash to buy back time I already bought-- sounds like fraudulent sales practice--failure to deliver what was purchase and good old fashioned bait and switch

I’m no programmer but it seems to me there is a very simple fix.

It’s a server based game, so the time should be tracked on the server. Just like your shield timer is taken from the server. It’s really that simple.

It’s not a big deal for SC because this makes them money. What would you do in their position? You would play it down, pretend it’s not a big deal and right it out as long as you can.

When the YouTubers were invited to visit they asked for question they should be asking SC. On every list that I saw was the timer bug, but it never got asked. Guess why, they don’t want to talk about it.

Yes, I believe this is fraud, not that I’m a lawyer but if this was a US or Canadian based company I’m pretty sure they would have fixed it by now.

I refuse to spend any more money on this game till they fix it. I wish I had known about it before I spent any money at all but what’s done is done. Everyone should have the same attitude.

It's really getting annoying. When I started getting 1-day upgrades, I scheduled it to be finished by morning, by the time I wake up. But now, guess what? I finish it at before I sleep, and it's just a matter of time it finishes at midnight. Then do the cycle again..

Ruins someone's schedule -> Encourages that someone to gem to fix the schedule -> Keeps doing that -> Runs out of gems -> Buys gems -> More money for Supercell.

So, when we try to fix this problem via gems, thanks to this bug, we are Supercell's gold mine.

If Supercell fixes this problem, Supercell would get half of what he is getting right now.
I wouldn't fix anything for sacrificing my money. But the point is, it's making players mad, some making them
quit. So either way it IS affecting Supercell's money. So fix this now, dork.

This is a REALLY difficult one to solve, basically whenever the base is disrupted by something like a defence or if you are attacking it messes with the timing, I can't go into any more detail partly because I didn't understand it fully (there was wine involved) and partly because it's not public knowledge how it works. What I suggested would be to look at the timing differential and then compensate - i.e. if on average it's causing the timer to end 10% too late then adjust the time by that % - it's not a perfect fix but it would ease people's pain a LOT.

I do promise you that it's not:

a) a conspiracy to make you buy gems
b) any of the other conspiracies

It's just a really tricky one that causes issues for those who notice it, and none whatsoever to those who don't.

Well, the team at BB is not the same that the team at CoC as far as I know.
And yes, they should fix it, but everyone thinks is so simple as remplace the timer with the shield timer
In fact, if a lot more complicate than that, and if fixing that but would mean no more updates for the next 6 months or so, I rather deal with it

It does not seem to be hard to fix and it sure seems intentional.

Intentional or not, hard to fix or not, one thing is certain...if they wanted to fix it, they would have by now.

The problem is not only they refuse to fix the "bug" but they also refuse to inform the players.

And, no - a non stickied mistitled thread with a blank OP in a subforum, which probably visit less than 1% of all the players does not count as providing information.

Until they fix the "bug"/ give proper information to all players about the time lag, it's a scam/hidden feature, and it's against the developer guidelines of Apple and Google.

Omg! Just finished a 10 day upgrade to dragons level 3 and it took 1 hour longer than 10 days. That's like .43%.....

Many people in this thread have stated that they have reported this issue either to Apple or Google.

But as far as I know you can either reclaim the money you've spent, or report an app for having issues and as long as the app isn't made by Apple or Google, you're not getting a follow up about the issue.

This is absurd, and I'm sure you know it.

There is no way that fixing a simple "bug" would take as long as the creation of those large game elements.
But, for the sake of argument, let's assume that ridiculous idea is true. Even if it is:
1. Supercell has plenty of resources through their mind-boggling income to hire as many devs as they want/need to fix this. If they truly cared about their game they'd realize that they'd already made enough money off of this "bug" to pay for it to be fixed - yet instead they decide to care about their wallets and let it be.
2. When they do decide not to fix it outright, they could still easily and immediately implement some of the compensation-fixes mentioned in my page 1 post and elsewhere. They've already shown to be capable of several of these; there is no "it's too hard!" to hide behind. Again, this "bug" going unfixed hinges on their unwillingness to fix it, not their incapability.

If you've lost only 1 hour in 10 days you must play very little.

Of course, even to casual players like you this is still a loss, but to serious players who are very active on the game the loss will be much greater. When I still played a 10 day upgrade easily racked up some 4-6 hours, and SC has increased the increment since then too... it's probably in the 8-12 hour range for active players now.

I made an account on these forums solely because of Steve's response here. Frankly, I think it's arrogant. Do you know what would happen to most people if they didn't do their job because it's "tough" and would "require a hugely significant amount of time"? They'd get fired. I'm not sure how someone can even think this is an excuse. When a fundamental aspect of your product is flawed (indeed, the core aspect considering that time is the true resource in this game), you would assume that its producer/distributor would rush to remedy the issue. Even if SuperCell wasn't raking in millions, this is a problem that should be fixed almost immediately. This is your product, Steve, and your relationship with us, the consumer. Don't sell us a defective product and then whine like a baby that it's too hard to fix. You disrespect those upon whom you base your business. This is compounded when you threaten those who raise the issue. Do you think it is good policy to just shut down threads that say things you don't like? When you say 'allegations of corporate greed aren't helpful,' do you mean for you or us? Because as the playerbase, our voice is all we have. When you tell us our only move (that is, to use our collective voice) will do nothing, you essentially neuter us as parties to this contract and tell us we're going to take what you give us, and we're going to like it. This thread should not be reserved solely for educating others, it should also function as a catalyst by which we may voice our concerns to the only people who can fix it. That includes concerns of corporate greed and underhandedness, regardless of whether you like to hear it, Steve.

In fact, even saying it's too hard and would take too much time is a blatant lie. Do you really want to convey the message that SuperCell is so inept? Look around at games like World of Warcraft, that are exponentially more complex than CoC, and issues like this either don't exist or are promptly rendered nugatory. To be sure, SuperCell is no Blizzard. But concordantly, CoC is no World of Warcraft. Any problem in this relatively simple game can undoubtedly be fixed with enough time and resources. You come across as exceedingly lazy to me, Steve. Not everything in life is turnkey, and there isn't always a quick fix. Sometimes you really have to buckle down and pull some all-nighters to solve an issue, regardless of its perceived complexity.

Even if it is true, as you argue, that this bug is somehow the technical marvel of the century, the solution to which evades the modern era's greatest minds, many people in this thread have already suggested a simple fix: reducing the build times in a measured way so as to offset the inflation. The only reason I can imagine regarding why this has not yet been implemented is greed. It's unfortunate that SuperCell prefers to keep its money in its pockets rather than build enduring brand loyalty. Obviously the former is a tenet of all businesses, but the latter is what distinguishes those that are successful from those that are not. CoC is a great game, and I hope SuperCell learns this lesson before too much damage is done.

Thus, the conclusion here is simple: Steve and SuperCell do not care about their customers. The underlying cause for this unfortunate outcome is either (1) they are inept/lazy, or (2) they are greedy. My personal opinion is that greed is the reason for this situation, for what it's worth.

Ineptitude, laziness, and greed aside, however, Steve has made it clear that the voices in this thread will not serve as motivation for SuperCell to fix this problem. What Steve fails to realize is that this can very quickly turn into a legal issue for SuperCell. This situation is ripe for a class action lawsuit. This conduct is, be definition, fraudulent: the times displayed and the use of your gems are materially misrepresented. Indeed, by encouraging you to use the game, and by the use of the game exponentially increasing the bloat, SuperCell effectively fosters the inflation. But for their inducing a user to use the game, the inflation would likely actually be less than it actually is.

First of all, it's important to note that there is literally no notice of this problem. Random forum postings won't constitute notice; it would have to be in the app, when you download it or when your purchase gems, etc. 90% of players probably don't even know these forums exist. More importantly, these forums unequivocally demonstrate that SuperCell knows of this problem, and admittedly has no plan to fix it. Steve himself said so. The question, at this point, becomes how much money has been spent on gems in response to this problem. By my math, the average price of a purchased gem is $0.01621078241. A paltry value by any definition. Being conservative, let's assume that this inflation induces players to purchase one gem's worth of time per day, and that only 3 million people actually purchase gems (I personally do not). This translates into a little under $50k per day. In reality, of course, it is much more because gems can't be purchased individually, and it is likely that build times are inflated by much more than one gem's worth of time. Thus, SuperCell is facing liability in the amount of ~$50k per day in compensatory damages alone. However, if this falls within the purview of the Consumer Fraud Act (which is very possible), there is now a possibility for treble damages. At this point, SuperCell faces compensatory damages of ~$150k per day that this problem has existed. This is $4.5 million per month. This isn't even considering this possibility for punitive damages, costs, attorney's fees (including the plaintiffs', if they win), and bad publicity. I don't care how much SuperCell purportedly earns in a day, this is a bad situation for any company.

My point in saying this is that I think it will be very interesting to watch how this plays out as the game has gotten more popular and more people are made aware of this situation. I have no doubt a claim can be made, and that any lawyer would happily jump on the opportunity. More importantly, I hope that since Steve isn't influenced by his customers' voices, he is at least influenced by the looming threat to his pocket book. I think it's clear at this point that it's in everyone's best interest to either give reasonable notice of this problem's existence, or create some meaningful remedy. I also think it's clear that SuperCell should seriously consider the PR damage in having someone like Steve respond to customer satisfaction situations. The inflation wouldn't even bother me so much if I didn't have Steve here telling me my voice is worthless, dictating the theme of this post, and threatening to close this thread. Threats of squelching dissent on your own website does not bode well for any provider of goods or services, and sometimes the damage done by non-monetary means can far outweigh its cash counterpart.

The difficulty has nothing to do with ability, motivation or desire, it's manpower. The post ignores certain aspects critical to the posts referenced namely context, an understanding of the manpower involved and lack of it, and how entrenched the bug is in the code, which is where the difficultly lies. A simple fix or any fix for that matter can lead to larger bugs with a larger negative impact.

Supercell's model is small groups of individuals working on products so the experience is rich, well thought out and not watered down. Supercell are not huge like EA, the team that works on issues that caused this bug are even smaller and have other duties. Devoting the time to correcting this bug would detract from continued updates which would have a more critical impact on the player, which again is difficult.

Should they slow or stop the progress of awesome updates to address a bug that inflates timers buy a few % at most?

Should they allow this problem to negatively impact the communities enjoyment of the game via hyperbolic posts throughout the forum? There is a very good reason why companies do not advertise how your meat gets to your table. Think of KFC or McDonalds using images of slaughter houses and chicken farms in advertisements for their product.


As to the allegations of threats, I would recommend familiarization with the previous posts from which this thread arose. Ab hominem attacks, which is largely what Steve is addressing, do nothing for the discussion, were rampant and are of a personal nature meaning with no value to the discussion of the issue at hand.

As to the allegations of threats, I would recommend familiarization with the previous posts from which this thread arose. Ab hominem attacks, which is largely what Steve is addressing, do nothing for the discussion, were rampant and are of a personal nature meaning with no value to the discussion of the issue at hand.

My post was really directed at SuperCell and Steve, I just want to make that clear off the bat. Since you're not a representative of either, I doubt you really have any insight whatsoever into much of what I'm looking for, and certainly not into SuperCell's business model, so I'll apologize if I come across a little short. I don't mean to sound curt, it's just that I'm really not convinced you're someone who really knows what he's talking about, and I don't think you can bring much to the table for me, personally.

That being said, I don't see how business model has anything to do with this. Also, I have no idea why the business model you described would create a "rich experience," and why a bigger team would create a "watered down" product. That certainly doesn't seem intuitive to me, do you have any source you're relying on to substantiate that claim? Or is it a matter of opinion? Regardless, I don't think the issue is really relevant.

Beyond that, I think you touched on something very key: the issue of manpower. You wrongly conclude, however, that manpower is not an issue of motivation or desire or ability. In fact, all of these things are a result of one common source: resources. You can't justify the existence of a problem with the fact that they knowingly don't allocate resources the address it. This is even worse given the fact that we know they have the resources. To analogize, this is like if we buy cars from BMW, but there's an issue with them where they consume more gasoline than they should. Once we realize, we go to BMW and ask them to fix this problem. Under your reasoning, it's okay for them to say, "No, we can't fix it, we like to keep a small staff and if we fix your problem we won't be able to make more cars for other people [which may or may not have the same issue]." An important difference is, though, that unlike BMW in the example, SuperCell is actually benefiting from this issue, they are profiting.

My point is that I don't care what SuperCell is doing. If they purposely understaff, then that's their problem and they should try to help current customers before finding more to defraud. Conversely, the truly appropriate action would be to simply hire more people to deal with bugs. If SuperCell purposely hires a small team to deal with flaws, then it is a terrible business that will undoubtedly fail. To say that fixing it can lead to larger bugs is a ridiculous argument as well. If you are injured, should you avoid treatment or surgery because the doctor may make an error and you'll be worse off? No, you just do things right. There's always a risk of another flaw, but if there is you respond. I'm not sure you actually know anything about code at all, but regardless of how "entrenched" it may be, that's not my problem. SuperCell assumed the risk of dealing with such issues when it got into the business of publishing games. Don't sell me a defective car then tell me you can't fix a manufacturing problem because it may take a lot of work.

Again, I'm not really looking to hear from you. I don't think you know what you're talking about, and I'm pretty sure you're just an ignorant fanboy. As I addressed originally, "a few % at most" is a huge amount when multiplied across the community. No offense, it's just that no one can actually defend such blatant fraud without having some pretty heavy bias.

I'm pretty sure I woke a neighbor laughing at this one, thank you, nice post btw, I'm no lawyer so I can't comment on most of it but, I fix bugs, that's how I make a living, and even worse, I do it on other people's dirty messy code, but I gotta say, I haven't seen one that took me a year and a half to solve after someone pointed it out.
