How do you select a clan?

Hi.

I don't have any clan. And i am atm. searching for one. But i was wondering how you guys chosen your clan? I get a lot of msg's: Join me, but i wont join a clan with out knowing anything about it. Also I' need a clan which can donate min. level 5. - But after all, how did you select your clan?

You join the Centum Family because they are amazing!

I joined Nakama cause they looked awesome and yes they were and still are!

I joined iQuit cause I needed to change clan after maany months in the same and I always dreamt about joining iQuit, the best farming clan. :)

Go to the sub-forum clan talk, make a thread with the requirements, and ur info, and then just wait

If youve never been in a clan it can be a bit daunting.

youll have noticed the global recruitment strategy is to shout 'join me' louder and more often than everyone else.

i suggest you go to 'clan talk' watch for a couple of days then join a few clans, any clan worth its salt will not mind you popping along for a look see.

youre looking for athmospher, is clan chat vibrant, humorous and supportive or us it dogmatic, sarcastic or quiet.

Are there plenty of troop requests and do they get filled quickly, in less than a minute?

if it doesn't feel right, say thanks and move on. You'll eventually find the clan thats right for you.

I didn't know any better so I just joined one that had an appealing description, turned out to be lots of fun.

Size
Think carefully about joining a little clan, recruiting is a massive pain for large clans, let alone small ones. It may be better to join 40 reasonable members than 20 good ones. With that said though, all clans had 20 members at some point, and there are definitely 10 member clans out there I would rather be in than a poor 49 member clan!

Activity
Make sure there are a lot of players with good donations.
It's nice that "SUpER MikE$..!" donates 5,000 but it's no good if he's not on, or can't fill you up.
Also keep an eye on the number who are inactive (no league, and no donations or requests)
Are leeches allowed? Is there anyone in the clan who has low donations and high requests.

Levels
Find a clan with players of similar levels (Players with Level 100s and Level 10s are going nowhere, in my opinion). Don't worry if the leader and a few elders are above the rest, you just want the majority of the clan at the same sort of level (all L3 archers, all L4 archers, all L5 archers etc)

You want to fit in somewhere near the middle of the range, preferably top half. You want to be a valuable addition, and not a weak link.

Firstly, they'll accept you because you are a good fit;
Secondly, you'll advance at a similar level and build some clan loyalty and friends.

Fit
Read the clan description, if you can't tell from that if you'll fit or not, you probably won't.
Don't ask to join a clan that requires L6 wizards if you don't have L6 wizards, they will just say no.
Do they Farm? Push Trophies? Mix? Neither? Is that what you want? No point in a farmer joining a clan about to have a trophy push.
Have they banned swearing in their clan chat? Sounds like a soulless, fun-free-zone to me. Avoid.

Elder
If a clan is offering free elder, they are no good.

Location
If you are in England and Join a clan called Texas Rangers, and find that not many people are on when you want to play, chances are there's a reason for that. Similarly if you join a clan and it's inactive when you are on, even if it looks like it is very active... get out.

Troops
There is a big difference between "We donate L5 archers" and "We require L5 archers". The first means and handful of players can donate those troops, the second means everyone in the clan is at a good level, and you are expected to be as well. I'd rather be in a clan of all L4 archers than a clan of 49 noobs with a Champion leader and L2 witches!


If you've never been in a clan before (or not for long), your donation numbers in the 'Friend in Need' Achievement will be low. This may mean that good clans will simply not take you. Get in ANY clan, and make a heap of donations as fast as you can.

The one I initially joined, I joined because it was pretty full... and they were high in donations which meant to me they were active.

Only thing I would add is check for inactive players. Some clans might have over 40 players, but if ten of them have no league and no donation stats, the clan is dead.

After being in a social clan for so long, I felt like i outgrew everyone. Needed an elite farming clan that knows how to push their players farming wise and trophy wise and Exodias was the perfect fit. I did not join as a Junliang fanboy :rolleyes: Exploitations reputation as the best farming clan also intrigued me, but they were full at the time, and these were my two choices. A superb leader, and down to earth friendly members who are always willing to help is what I found.

Gaining members as a Leader is a very different enterprise to choosing a clan to join.
Unfortunately a new clan is simply not what most people are looking for.

A very good point, one I am sure people are always doing when looking for clans as well.

I had no home clan and was hopping around donating to level up, but then I posted on here about starting a clan and got a few responses! Now I am leader of Daunting Doom and we are doing great!
