Clan war cheaters

Why doesn’t supercell do anything about cheaters?? Yet again, were faced with a clan with their players going off to a newly formed clan to practice on our bases, with exact copies of our bases! This is happening too often and should be stopped.

it’s really simple to stop this, all you have to do is put a ban on players who are participating in wars from joining another clan, if they leave their current clan or get kicked from their clan then they should stay clanless until the war is over, then they can join any clan they want after that...

How does switching clans allow them to cheat?

That sure answers the question...

They copy our bases, go to a newly formed clan and then use a modded account to practice their attacks on... they don’t use their main account, they use the burner accounts...

do you have proof that they copy your war base and practice it ? (the only way to proof it is go to their new clan..and see if they practicing your base, and screenshot all the evidence)
if you have proof, just send them to sc..i sure the'll be banned soon.

If I had 10 pounds for every time I have seen "it is really simple to fix ..." in these forums, I would be quite wealthy.

If I had 1000 pounds for every time the "simple" fix would actually do what was wanted without causing significant additional harm, I would be nowhere near as wealthy.

This one would have virtually no effect. It would just mean those cheats would use alternate accounts to do their practice attacks.

And alternate accounts are not only allowed (I have 4 myself), they would be impossible to prevent, and it would cause significant harm to many perfectly fair play players to try and do so.

People jump clans all the time during war. Some peeps use it to get better CC troops for war. Modding is just weak. I thought supercell was cracking down on modders.

how would that harm fair play players? At the moment we have cheaters running wild in the game. You’d need to have 2 maxed th11s to copy our bases, if someone is willing to goto that extreme just to cheat? Are you saying you have 4 maxed th11s?

You’re assuming the cheating mod companies can’t create an option for you to practice with all max army even though you have only a th3.

How can they copy bases and have time to attack them before war ends? Isn't it a 24 hr timer??

I stay away from those sites, but I suspect they can make whatever is demanded. That is why it is so hard for SC. It isn’t as bad as it used to be, but they can’t stop them all. I also suspect SC is continuously working on ways to figure out who the cheaters are to hit them on their main base. I will like it some day when we get another ban wave of maxed out 5 year old bases that are banned because SC caught them cheating with a different account.

from what we can see, they leave the clan with an exact copy of our bases and practise using the modded th3 burner accounts in a newly formed clan, after they perfected their attacks they come back and attack. So the assumption is they still need maxed th11s to copy a base. You can make it harder do this by restricting the player from joining other clans if they are participating in wars, how is this have an negative affect on fair play players? If anything, if the trade off is for a slight inconveience for more fair play then its worth it. It may not be 100% fool proof, as someone with multiple max accounts can still replicate this but at least this is a step forward. At the moment, fair play players are at an dis-advantage.

For myself, i feel cheated because i’ve invested money into this game and supercell can’t provide the game to be played on a equal level amongst all players, on this bases i think i should be refunded...

Are people playing dumb or some players really don't know what's happening? I'm not sure if it's against the rules to explain what they are doing; so I better not.

Ban people from hopping guilds and they'll simply acquire a second account that won't need to hop out. It was never a wel thought out solution to end modding.

Creating a second account and maxing it to a maxed th11 takes an incredible amount of time and acquiring another maxed th11 is against the terms and conditions which also carries a risk if they try to buy one.

People really don't know because most threads go this same way. Its never really expressly said to avoid spreading info on how to cheat. You'd have to look somewhere else to get all the details and not everyone cares to do that if they aren't involved in situations where it happens.

How about not accepting new members during war prep and war? Or only accepting people you know? You hold some responsibility if you let them in...

Banning people who join other clan during war isn't a good idea. It'll affect, feeder clans as well as few of those Clashers who try to donate troops by joining other clan.

SC have already told that they're working on it and the biggest problem is.

Everytime they create a mouse traps, either the mouse gets bigger or it gets smarter.
And that's why SC's mod detection system isn't working perfectly.
I would say, reporting with proofs would help them and make it easier for them to take actions.

This has been happening for a long time. None of this is cheating.

You’re new on this forum so i’ll let this slide... during war, the clan is closed, no one joins our clan, so no were not responsible. After prep day and war starts, your opponents can see your war bases, they can copy the bases from there...

none of this is cheating? So are you officially saying its ok during war to copy an opponents war base and then leave open a new clan and use a modded th3 to practice attacking that base until you’ve perfected a 3 star attack, then go back to the main clan and repeat that successful attack?

Players got their own style of playing this game "WITHIN THE RULES", So, you cannot simply say that what you feel about others. Especially Considering myself when i see someone in global asking for help I prefer helping. A commitment will be same to my clan as I'm in a clan since 2 years. But, Remember not everyone cheats.

Please report the clan that you suspect of cheating and SC will investigate. Automated means of punishing cheaters often times victimize those who have legitimate reasons for leaving the clan during war. I would rather that SC make sure that a clan is cheating before dropping the ban hammer than have some innocent clan get banned due to false positives.

If you were participating in a clan war and restricted from joining other clans, how is this stopping you helping someone in global? Can they not join your clan?

The request here is to extend the rules, to help the fight towards cheating, if you don’t stop this then everyone will do the same, which ultimately destroys the game, if non cheating players are constantly facing cheaters in the game then they’ll just abandon the game and the game will just be played by cheaters only...

So far there is clan wars and a global leader board for top players and clan. These are the goals set within the game, if you play the game differently other than the set goals then expect the game rules to change in favour of the game goals not to your own style of playing the game.

Yes, I understand that it can be tedious but I would really hate it if SC bans me or you because some automated process mistook you or me of cheating simply because we choose to visit a friend or decide to go clan hopping during war. These are innocent actions that can easily be mistaken without human intervention.

My commitment is to the clan I am in. But I am in as many as four different clans with my accounts at any one time. So sometimes, either myself or another player needs troops my main accounts can provide. So I leave my main clan and donate. Fail to see how my leaving my clan for ten minutes to donate a lava to someone or valks to my own mini accounts is a failure to commit to my clan.

I’m in one clan and committed to that one clan, there is no need for me to leave to receive troops or donate to anyone other than to my clan mates. If you have to go between clans to donate to everyone, then the clans aren’t working out...

Sorry to say. Everyone isn't like you. I prefer helping people who request troops from global. And a clan with 50/50 people and minimum requirement of th10 with 35+ royals. It does not help me to invite any random lower level player(I'm a co lead and i stick to rules).
So, I leave to donate troops. Sometimes it's better to report and move on rather than thinking about it and waiting for your problem to be resolved. It just takes your valuable time. Commitment towards one clan is a good habit. at the same time doing something that you like to do is a part of having fun.

As I said earlier. Report and move on And SC will investigate and take actions.

Just because you have a problem and you have a set of rules for yourself. Does not mean everyone should follow the same set of rules. Different clans have different rules and different people have different thoughts.

Well, with Clan war day 24 hours, SC could hire a 13th person to manually check on the report and drop the ban hammer right then and there. It literally would take a minute or 2.

Considering they can attack the th11 with th11 troops with a th3 having 2x th3 (th11) one with the base and one with the troops dosnt seem like a stretch. Would probably just be a bit more of a inconvenience.

That said I do not know how it works or if that is possible so this should be taken with a grain of salt, but I dont think its a huge stretch to think they can copy the base aswell with a burner. So im not sure if thiswould solve anything. Such a change would probably just hurt everyone without doing much good.

It makes it easy to see that they are doing it. It would be smarter to build the base they copied on one of their war bases so their opponent couldn't see what they are doing.

When you hit TH9 if you change a base there is a 24-hour cool down before you can offer it into FC. That prevents people from doing that. At Th8 can below, nothing prevents that.

But there appears to be a cheat that allows you to bypass the 24 hour cool down. So you can attack a base with a TH3, expose the traps and then copy it and attack it until you learn how to do it. I'm pretty sure we have fought and lost to such a clan but I had no evidence other than their attacks looked rehearsed. They were either extremely good and knew how to attack a base or they had copied that TH9 and practices against it.

When they leave and make a copy of your base in another clan it's kind of in your face, "we are cheating."

Those should without question be reported and Supercell will EVENTUALLY take action. They use that info to find out how to detect when clans are doing that and then they will mass ban the players that are doing that. And the bans will be permanent.

I understand your doubt, but I have seen it happen. Many wars back we noticed that a couple of their members left right as war started. We were thrilled. A while later they came back and had perfect attacks. This repeated and then we started going to where the "missing" village went and sure enough, copies of our villages were in their new lvl 1 clan! - they ended up perfecting us. So.... I have seen it happen and with some people winning is their life - even on a mobile game- and they will find a way to cheat and there are those who will make money off them. Rally sad in a pathetic sort of way.

SC can trace those burner accounts and burner clan .. why not another improved fair play policy that even visiting those clan will lead you to also get banned ? or if not a permanent ban then 14 days ban ..???

It is nothing to do with having so many maxed TH11s. If they attempted to prevent multiple accounts, many perfectly fair play players would be hit by it. In my clan, I have 4 accounts, two others have 3, and about half a dozen have 2. All fair play.

Fixing ghosting was a very simple fix though that was discussed ad infenitum on these forums back in the day. Simply create a confirmation button that the player has to press to confirm they want to attack that particular base and that will cost you one attack. This simple measure took supercell months and months to implement and in my opinion helped create the conditions that ultimately lead to modding and the use of 3rd party apps. Once it was implemented into the game ghosting disappeared overnight!

Contrast that with the speed with which they reacted to the "gem bug" about 3-4 years ago. For those who don't remember or weren't around in clash or the forums back then essentially what happened was for whatever reason the game became bugged and if you used gems to gem resources, upgrade times etc and then logged out of the game and straight back in again you got those upgrades and also got the gems refunded back. In the space of a few hours players who discovered the bug were able to completely max out their bases. They didn't get long however as the bug was fixed within the space of a few hours!

If only supercell had acted with such haste with cheating! I suspect this would be a much better game if they had. The difference though is the gem bug affected their bottom line and cheating never really has

I'm sure it is currently being developed. That's how they are going to ban them and modders are not learning this point. They think that they are safe. This comes under heuristic techniques to detect suspicious behavior in online games. They are already using this technique to warrant 14 days war ban to a clan who invites and keeps burner accounts multiple times in their main clan.

There are associative techniques to associate burner clan and burner account with the main account of a modder and this can be done without making any changes to "psychic octopus". I don't like this name. Name doesn't hide technology.

Modding apps can directly hit the home base just by visiting it without making friendly challenges.

They only have a small team so do not have the resources, the ability or the will to stop people cheating.

Update to this cheating... the current war is 40 vs 40 maxed th11s, so far 4 of them managed to get 6 stars each and another 3 of there players already got 3 stars from their first attack...

EXACTLY.
I have 4 accounts my self, th4-8. I am a super experienced player, so 4 accounts helps to get 4 chances for each th.
So alternate accounts is a very good thing. It gives players a second chance to try things, and even fully max their damn th2 bases

I have seen many hacks myself.
Someone 1,000,000,000 gold and elixir...
Had 1,000,000 dark elixir...
Was a th6...
Had a BARBARIAN KING
HAD PEKKAS
AND HAD GOLEMS!
I am tired of this. All this hacking is SO ANNOYING!
the most recent clan war I had had a th7 with th6 defense levels, I had lvl5 giants, sent in twenty, and his lvl 3 mortar one shots them! All!!!!

It seems odd that war after war you find a clan that mods.

I fail to believe that. The mods do not work like that from all have ever read in here. They are used for practice attacks.

This would be the worse mod ever since a simple screenshot would end their account immediately.

I would love to come visit to watch your giants get taken out by a single mortar shot. Please let me know when you are available.

How about they remove watching war raids from friendlist option... That way people cant cheat undetected and get traps etc

i can bet that SC are not working on that bcuz since the server is separate, they simply cant do anything. so why would they waste their time working on something which they know they cant fix?

but the octopus could catch a couple of players who use simple mods without any servers. and SC are continuously working on this.

exactly. SC cant do anything from private servers

i really dont see the big issue with allowing a base to be modified and then to be able to practice attacks on it in the current COC world. so people will copy ur base and practice on it. so what?

you can do the same. so whats the big deal. Now the only way to practice on "a" base is to go to a private server and copy ur base etc etc.

i have NO problem is SC removed the "timer" on challenge attacks for newly made bases. good i say. this just means more people playing more often. is this not the intent? timer just cancels that intent to play more.. possible gem more, etc

but SC doesnt look at giving u success. they look at how to minimize success thinking this will make u gem more..

Supercell koderator and read what he writes. A joke. As for the original post, cheats will always be there cause SC doesnt give the ammount of attention to stop them. They cant bother. Its like a virus and an antivirus. You need to adapt everytime a new virus comes out and remake your system to face that virus aswell. SC cant fix the game issues in their own game and you expect them to spent time and if any brain cells they have, to fight cheaters? Not happening man. You will lose games from cheaters, thats a fact.

here is a list of the things SC has achieved and surely you will find cheating in there.
1. Troops pathig, not fixed
2. Clan wars MM, not fixed
3. Clouds, not fixed
4. Troop balancing, not fixed
5. Cheating, not fixed
6. .....not fixed
7........ not fixed

so what ever the case is, the answer will be not fixed.

The cheating is so obvious...

This thing's been discussed for years and SC hasn't done anything. They never will. The loss will far outweigh gain if they patch hax. Sorry.

i could post more pics but it's tiring... and having to post 40 x 2 bases and a new clan pic on a ipad or iphone every time a clan cheats is just taxing to do... Most people just don't bother and the cheating just continues, the fair play players will just get tired and leave the game...

Everything you say is true. We all know there are many cheaters. Sc is either blind or they are gainning from cheating and do not wish to eradicate it. You are expecting from such a company to take action on cheating? Forget it man. Could it be that the company uses the same principles as these cheating clans? Meaning .... cheating? There is not point writting anything here and surely no point in messaging the contacts in the game. Nothing is happening. Probably SC has a gain from these cheating players. If it was a fair company they would fight cheaters with teeth and nails. Their inactions only show that they are nothing, not even close to fair.
Enough from me about this subject. Losing time and energy. My advise to you is download a cheat program too and start playing. Afterall it seems its legal. Otherwise why would so many players be using cheat programs? So it is legal.

War is now over, for a 40 vs 40 all TH11s war, they managed to 3 star 20 of our bases... Kinda makes you think is it worth doing wars anymore...

i think you miss understood me. i never support cheating. infact i do not like having any advantage while playing games. that just spoils my own game imo. thats why i never spend even free gems. but with that said, i also realize that there will always be those people who are willing to go to any lengths for cheating. so frankly i dont bother about them.

as for your opinion on allowing players to practice on bases officially, i dont think it would be good cuz it would take the fun aspect out of the game and people will get bored quickly. you dont wish to kill coc do you?

I get what your saying. but i dont think people will get bored. people in my clan are just not THAT good were they would get bored because they had the ability to figure out how to 3 star a base. Dont forget there are "TRAPS" that are NOT visible and people have to guess where they are. this means more attack practices etc. I think there is some fun in figuring out how to 3 star a base.

I think there are MORE casual fans than hardcore fans. this is where the money can be gained. the hardcore fan would become super expert and the casual fan has a chance to participate more.
one attack - fail , ok maybe i will try again. fail repeatedly and people give up. give the impression there is a chance? people might give that a try.

I am not sure how people will get bored if they had the chance to attack a base repeatedly. remember there has to be a clan member to help with the attack (challenge). thats MORE participation from other members. etc etc more is better no?

Nope. These clans often don’t hide it at all. They copy your war base and make it their home base in the other clan.

TBH, I would gladly endure tighter restrictions during battle day if it could help prevent cheating.
Hate to hear your troubles OP, hopefully SC can look into these clans you're facing.

Such a sinking feeling when in the first 10 seconds of a matchup you know you're going against a modding clan and there's nothing you can do about except wait for 48 hours.

Then again it's an all max 11 lineup? That 's quite a cheater magnet. SC should really look closely into that matchpool.


There's something to gain when you match hardcore modders, copy their war bases and use them in future lol

You just have to think about the process the players go through... everytime we match up with a cheating clan, we need to screenshot there details, show there in another clan with screenshots of our base and their base, in a 40 vs 40 war, thats alot of work. You then report it and later Supercell replies back accuses you of letting a spy into the clan to copy our bases, even though we closed the clan. The replies are always you who was the blame, never the person who is cheating...

Well details been passed to Supercell and still nothing done about it... the last clan that cheated which we reported is still out there cheating... this current cheating clan is just doing the same, reported and nothing done about it...

Everytime this happens we lost players. They just think why bother doing wars when you're just going to lost to cheaters, as we're all maxed TH11s, they get bored and quit the game for good. This new incident has lost us another 3 players, who now quit the game completely...

We've now gone down from 40 vs 40 to 20 vs 20 because half of them now thinks doing wars is rubbish ... if it continues like this, no one will be doing wars...

There are many "clan families" around, where there may be half a dozen or more linked clans, with people moving between them all the time for various reasons.

And I expect that most players, when their clan is at war, spend 90% or more of the time they are online not actively involved in the war.

Your way is not the only reasonable way to play. I have 4 accounts, all in the same clan, and none have ever been in another clan, but that doesn't mean I think everybody should play that way.

You unlock it at that low level you sink to when you decide to cheat - it’s part of the cheat program usage, not part of Clash gameplay.

I think it is GOOD to let people have multiple accounts, it gives them multiple chances at the game.

Cheat programs let them attack the base over and over and over without waiting for the friendly challenge cooldown. Then they can record their touchscreen inputs and replay them in the real war attack. Current cheating 101 lesson lol.

If your 11 you play against an 11 stop this engineered game.

It would hurt those in clan families mostly. One clan that are part of several other clans. They often need to leave to go get troops from their other clans for their war attacks. If they are the leader or provide administrative duties they need to change clans. This would do harm.

Darian has explained this many times and now I have too, probably more times than he has.:) He has told us something to the effect that is not simple to catch the cheaters. They must find ways to detect the cheat and then ban them all at once. If they ban just some, the mod developers will change the ap so they cannot detect it the same way anymore.

He has said also that the investigate ALL reports of cheaters. So go to in-game support and report them. Complaining about it here, you know, I get it but it doesn't do any good because you can't name them.

They will not tell you anything because mod developers have been known to self-report and then use the information to find new ways to mod so that SC can't detect it. So SC will not tell you anything about what they round and it may take a long time for them to act as it is not simple. Darian explained the mod developers are smart people.

I've seen videos where they attack with 100s of troops. Usually just one troop. They can do whatever they wish.

What is odd is you have to do it on a regular basis. Maybe our clan isn't high enough up to run into this but I stay on the lookout for it. I've never seen it, not one single time in two years. I've seen what appeared to be cheaters but never saw a burner clan. It would be extremely frustrating to happen once but on a regular bases? I've seen vids where they could attack who they wanted from global. So they can do almost anything but force a match with them? I sure hope not.

He's from an all max TH11 war clan. I wouldn't be surprised if that matchpool is filled with mod clans

The Fair Play initiative made me laugh ... They can say dozen time they ban thousands of acc ... Moreover they protect thousand acc which are modding ... THEY do not hide anything ... Well they bring money and they bring yt clicks

1) yes it's cheating - they use mods to practice, not normal bases. Too bad SC support do not understand the difference.

2) using mods they can do it all - copy a base in a click, create any army, attack without 24h timer and so on...
(just search for "10000 golem attack" on youtube and see for yourself)

3) this will continue forever, why? - simple, SC is "monitoring" ToS per account, not per human, so as long as they have burners they do not violate ToS... even if they would monitor it per device (which they don't) the cheaters would just use 2 devices...

Depending EXACTLY what they said it might be worth forwarding screenshots of that by PM to one of the mods on here. If support were effectively and inadvertently telling you to cheat, they might be able to have a word with someone higher up in support.
