A product addiction

Hi, my name is Shealie54 and I'm a popcorn addict. "Hello, Shealie54."

Whenever I see popcorn in a RSS, I'm compelled to buy it 95% of the time. If I go below 40 in my barn I start getting the shakes. I'm sure this has to do with a shortage during a boat event when I first started playing HD, and what's normally a very common item was in demand and there was none to be found for days. I see the red and white popcorn container, AHA, it's mine! I make it regularly (along w/chocolate popcorn) and sell it only occasionally when kernels start popping out the sides of my barn. Sure comes in handy when I run into folks needing help and their crates call for 14 each (I filled three in a row yesterday).

So my question is: what is YOUR addiction? (My daughter's is fish pies, so I know there must be others out there with this "problem.")

I almost spit my coffee out! HAHAHA!! Guess you don't have room for expansion tools, huh? (But I would LOVE to have those quantities of dairy and fish! I keep trying...)

Mine is coffee bean and cacao. I'll buy them all if I see them. Currently have 127 cacaos and 91 coffee beans. I get nervous when it's below 100. So that means I'm going to be shopping for coffee beans for the next hour or so.

Anything shiny. I decided my silo was large enough and wasn't going to expand any longer, but just seeing those screws made me want them. Finally had enough to upgrade again,

Oh and chocolate cake. Don't know how many I have, it's not enough. It even coerced me to make a real cake last week. Found a great recipe for frosting.

me too but I throw them on the truck as soon as possible :-)

Me too *gimme vouchers* lol

But I don't seem to get many truck orders for them, so they get hoarded for a while.

me too (again) then I reduced stock below 20 each et voila, orders appeared! Btw you will never have more than 3 metal orders on the board, so delete those you cant serve anyway!

Haha!! There's plenty, so far! But I'm ALWAYS ready for the next boat if it calls for popcorn! LOL!!

Up to 67 at the moment and see no need to stop my machine. Been dumping animal feed and animal products like crazy to make room for more, more, MORE!! Bacon anyone? :D

popcorn on the 1st place. I just can't resist that red and white box. I buy it and buy it and sell it when it hits the roof of my barn. that is if I don't find anyone with open crate asking for popcorn first. I'll rush to fill it and then sing and dance around the room. then a quest to find new pile of popcorns starts (I never made it myself, my popcorn maker is always occupied with chocolate popcorns).

2nd place - jewelry. for more prosaic reason: vouchers. I desperately need more pets to feed :D
so I'll raid the hell out of you if I find jewelry, no matter if we're neighbours or not. I have no mercy (and no sane mind) in that situation :D

3rd place - anything that's hard to produce or is needed in large quantities: jams, dairy/sugar...

I throw away all orders for bars. No thanks, I want the orders for the finished "shinies!"

And I've noticed that I've suddenly started harvesting a whole lot of mining materials but haven't figured out why. Maybe it's because I've stopped expanding my silo and recently started selling those tools. Whatever the reason, thank goodness - I was down to zero on all of them and had to resort to buying them from the ad special a time or two <shame face>.

Ooo, I do the jams too, and juices. Hate not being able to help out on boats (or fill my own), and taking 6-8 hours to produce one jam means hoarding is a necessity. I have jars of jam in my real pantry, too, though I almost never make biscuits. It just makes me feel good to have fancy jams on hand. You know, JUST IN CASE.

Popcorn all the way! I have a weird infatuation with popcorn. I snatch up all I see in the paper. I try to have 100 popcorn in stock at all times. They're the first to go if I need room for the barn. Do I seriously need that much popcorn...yes, yes I do! :D

Popcorners unite! I'm not alone!! It's quick to make, easy to find, and boats always call for crazy amounts. And those little red and white containers just look so perky and happy in store bins. My daughter thinks I'm weird until she has to call on me to help fill her crates (like she did just this morning). :p And now I'm down to 40-something and feel the urge to go shopping...

Mine is jam. It takes so long to make. I like to have ample supplies. I sit and debate filling crates needing jam too. I take jam very seriously or as seriously as one could take fake jam. :/

Mine is chocolate popcorn! I can't get enough of it! I keep a min of 10 all the time I buy it just so I can sell it! I need help. If you put up chocolate popcorn I will buy it. I once passed it up in a shop then scrolled back to buy it! I also love soup and coffee's any kind. I am a compulsive shopper! But I never try to hoard. But it's so difficult!

Planks....

...and marker stakes. As a newbie I kept selling off my marker stakes, then really needed them and couldn't find any. Now I buy them compulsively --I have 59 currently in storage (but no land deeds so they are useless for now lol).

I am proud to say that I just came across a farm selling 10 markers and I did not buy them--but now I feel like I shoułd have LOL :)

Food items I can't resist are anything potato related. I love potato products!!

Syrup. Ever since I got the candy machine and have to make caramel apples. Love the high XP I can earn with truck orders asking for caramel apples, but it takes two syrup for each. So, I buy them even when I have 15+ in the barn; if I need to make caramel apples I will not have tie up my sugar mill.

But it is a restraint addiction because there is nothing I hate more than having a FULL barn. I keep an exact numbers of items so my barn can have more than 200 free space. I am very systematic and calculated about this in order to keep it free up.

I'm the odd "man" out here

I'm the odd "man" out here. Mine is Carrot Pies. Ever since the first time I browsed the DD I have had an obsession with carrot pies. I'm always thrilled to see a neighbor needing help with a boat and its carrot pies that are flagged. LOL Im not sure WHY I like them But i just have for about 65 levels or so.

Haha -- i just read this and saw myself! I have controlled my compulsion for cherry popsicles, although it is still there (making them even as I type here...). I was selling them and then going right out and buying more if my production wasn't keeping up. I kept hoping for a popsicle boat! But i have been privileged to fill some refrigerated popsicle crates. :-)

Anyway, i imagine at one point that I was selling and then buying the same popsicles over and over...

Expansion items. Mind you I am not currently expanding anything, and I don't hoard them either...but if I see them in the daily dirt I buy them, then resell in my RSS for my neighbors. Someone said they passed up some markers...yeah, that's really hard and I'm fully expanded on land and sea, but I did manage to pass some up yesterday.

I will also buy cakes and ice cream...those will always get the finger twitching, lol.

I am also a compulsive DD shopper, but am trying to mend my ways so I can get a coin surplus going instead of always saving for that next thing.

Edited to add: barn is at 700, silo at 525.
