Duplicate account

Hi all...

I know this will probably never happen but I've always been told, if you don't ask, you don't get.

I wonder if SC would consider allowing us a duplicate of our account to use solely in wars.

So say you are a max th10, you can "duplicate" this account which will always have the exact same troop levels and defences as your normal base. So you have 2 max TH10 accounts to take into war instead of one.

This duplicate account can only be used in wars/FC's and is subject to all the same rules.
You cannot raid in multiplayer or gain trophies with it or anything... no achievements except war stars, no donations, just war attacks.
You can build a different war base for this "duplicate" account for war but nothing else.

The only way your duplicate account gains strength is when you original account upgrades something, gaining strength. (Edit: your duplicate account uses your main account resources to build armies for use in war).

There are several reasons why I think this would improve the game.

1. Your clan can run bigger wars and balance their rosters more effectively. This will help newer clans who can't accumulate enough loyal members or have issues with people not using war attacks.

2. The number of clans warring will increase because there will be more accounts to use in wars. (For example, a clan with 50 members could easily start another clan and run the same sized wars with members split between them).

3. Clans will do better overall and wars will be closer because those players in your clan who are good/great attackers can have more of an impact with 4 attacks each.

4. You can cover for yourself if you have a nightmare attack... nothing worse than being the top player in a war and messing up on base 1 or 2 with no one being able to cover. (This would help me somewhat!).

5. You can talk to yourself in chat if you're bored :-)

6. You can friendly challenge your own bases with your own army strength.

7. Double the fun in wars.


The above are just a few things I can think of that would benefit the game, IMHO.

There are sure to be cons to the pros such as the fact the feature kind of already exists in that you can make an new account and push this up to match your existing one.

Not sure if it would be open to exploitation from the cheaters?

Would it require significant additional server capacity?


I guess there may be lots of downsides but I can't see them right now.

What do you forumers think?

So instead of facing 2 defenseless TH11 in the middle of the war roster you will have 4 defenseless TH11s. Instead of having one base opted out for war you will have 2 bases opted out due to hero upgrades. If these war bases cannot donate, does it count when you donate to them?

The demand for new recruits will decrease since you can simply create a 25 person clan and not have to get new people.

You can also develop a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. account now and do the exact same thing that you described. By doing so, there is a potential for more gem purchases for SC. Having the game create a duplicate account reduces the potential revenue for SC.

With tbe current mm issues your idea would just be doubling the pain

Lot of points made there - thanks for the reply - see below - my attempt to answer.

If you are getting defenceless TH11's in the middle of your opponents war roster, I don't know what to say.
But if you would normally face two and have to face four, then you would also have two more other bases for those defenceless accounts to attack. So nothing would change there. You would still be matched as close as the MMA can on offence and defence, overall.

If you opt out for hero upgrades, you duplicate is also opted out. Where is the difference from now?

I guess it would count if you donated to them for war.

The demand for new recruits will always be there... people quit or move to different clans... there'd just be more clans to move to and from.

Nothing wrong with building minis... but you must surely see how this would help the more casual players?

Why Mrlk?

Example... you have 2 th11's, 4 th10's and 7 th9's that are green for war. The rest of your greens are th6 and th7 fillers (usually minis).
If you put those mini's in, you are roster engineering in the eyes of the MMA so you'd probably get a lopsided match.

With being able to duplicate your base, you can do so with 2 th9 accounts or 2 th10 accounts or 1 th11 and 1 th10 account allowing you to run with a tight TH spread and lessen the chance of a lopsided match.

This makes sense to me.

Yes there is a huge difference between facing 2 defenseless TH11s vs 4 defenseless TH11s. That would an additional 4 hits using maxed out troops vs 4 hits of non-maxed out troops. This means that there are 4 more chances for the defenseless TH11 to hit the top bases while the less than maxed troops will not have a chance against TH11s.

The difference is 1 base opted out vs 2 bases opted out. Where as if you have 2 accounts that is separate from each other you can choose to opt one out while the other is opted in.

If I have a 30 person clan and everyone has a duplicate then I can have 25 of them opted out and still go to war. If I have 25 of them opted in then I can have a 50 v 50 war. Why would I put in more effort in recuiting more members if I have more than enough to keep my clan in war? Recruiting just for the sake of recruiting is one thing but the necessity of it will be greatly reduced because there is no immediate need for it in war. After all the duplicate base is only used in war.

I actually don't, which is why I am responding with points against it. I am not sure if this will actually help casual players, they are casual for a reason. I do not think that giving them more bases will make them play more.

Double the bases to donate to, Double the war bases to fill= more raiding for elixir and DE. More work for the casual player.

Sorry but you wouldn't... how could you match 2 more defenceless accounts with the same offence/defence weighting in your roster... remember, your bases are balanced so would an engineered clan to squeeze so many lopsided bases in against you?
Just because an engineer can duplicate their TH11 bases doesn't mean they can manage their roster to get them in against the same roster of the opponent.
I cannot say for sure because it would require testing.

I can't follow this logic either. As it stands now, you have one base. If you opt out, you are missing one base - one player.
If you have a duplicate base in a new system, you are still only opting one player out.
You don't have to put both your base and the duplicate in.

Would the bit in bold not help your clan?
Also, what if your clan has 14 members and 6 are out for hero upgrades. Can't manage to recruit those extra few players... you don't war. There are a lot of clans like this. Duplicates would help them.
That smaller clan would always need to recruit.
And if you have an established clan, you still should recruit because there are always better players out there.

I am not saying it would make them play more - but a casual player in a casual clan may find benefit in having a duplicate account.
