Should I go town hall 7 (from 6, not maxed)

I have recently dumped a lot of time into my mini account in clash of clans. I have questioned this move for a long time because I was never a town hall 7 on any of my accounts because
A. They were my brothers and were townhal 8
B. I lost them before the upgrade


Recently, my clan has really needed someone to step up and take on town hall 8s and high 7s. Well, my puny town hall 6 can do anything on those types of bases. I was wondering if it was ready or not.

Personally, I've never seen an issue with "rushing" to TH7. It's just at that townhall is when I'd recommend maxing or nearly maxing before progressing. That's, of course, if you're not going the engineered route.

Agree with above. Never seen much issue with rushing to twn 7...

Yup theres no harm in rushing to th7 and unlockng drags asp but if your reason to do this is to just attack th8 bases then its not worth it as in general a th7 isnt going to 3 star a th8 i would suggest recruiting some th8 bases for war if that's the case

Rush to 7. Max it. Rush to 9. Max it.

Just remember the golden rule, if your lab is done, upgrade your townhall.

That's what I did.

Play the game how you want. If you are truly looking for advice then it depends on what aspect of the game you enjoy the most or what you are looking to accomplish. There are varying opinions on these forums about how the proper way to play the game is as well as many people with their own personal agendas giving advice as though it is the only way to play.

My suggestion is to play how you want. If you feel it's time to move up then do it. If you don't then don't. Whether you rush or you max, or do something in between, all have positives and all have drawbacks. I have done both the maxing route and rushing route and enjoyed both for different reasons.

If it's to war and be stronger at war as you kind of alluded to, then as long as your offense is outpacing your defence it is beneficial to move up. Under the current format, it's only when your defence outpaces your offense that it causes grief for you and your clan.

I don't think it matters either way but will 2 builder huts progress is going to be slow.

OP, this is in no way the golden rule. Take your time with your Town Hall, get everything maxed, and then move on to the next. Ignore the dirty engineers.
