Finally upgrading to Town Hall 9... Tips required for improved Gaming :)

Hi guys,
This is my first thread in this forum so please ignore if there are any mistakes.

After many days of considering and waiting patiently I've started upgrading my Town Hall from level 8 to 9. I know there's no going back but just wanted your opinion (or reassurance rather) on how I'll fair if I reach town hall 9 with this base (see attached image please).

I have maxed out my mortars, wizard towers, cannons and archer towers (two of which are being upgraded right now and will be done by the time Town Hall is done upgrading), the air defences are at level 5 each. The Teslas are under powered (each at level 2). What I'm worried about though is the level of walls and the horror stories I hear about the loot penalty at Town Hall 9 and above. Now I'm not boasting or anything but I'm quite good at raiding (clan castle, all troops and army camps are maxed, with the exception of balloons which I never use and the DE troops which I'll upgrade when I have 2 DE pumps), and get around 300-400k every other raid. So over all what I want to ask is what should be my next step:
1) While the Town Hall is being upgraded.
2) When I'm at Town Hall 9.

Thanks in advance for any advices, suggestions or opinions :)

1) save up resources so that you can get both xbows going when u upgrade
2) raid as normally but i dont reccomend going under 1500 trophies

That's what I'm planning on doing, collect enough resources to buy both X-Bows and upgrade the laboratory and dark barracks as soon as I reach TH 9. Thanks for the advice.

I'm a TH-9 since a good time. Sometimos farming at 1200-1400 is not Bad, but I prefer to farm in 1600-1800, where I can find many times a good loot. Remember to start getting DE and gold for Archer queen and X-bows. Also, remember to upgrade fast your laboratory, and your troops to lvl 6

Upgrade your storages to max and fill them before u get there.

Only tip i can give you is upgrade your stuff before going there ! Also wall to lvl 8...
i would cancel your TH !
With lvl 8 walls you have so much more not to do in TH 9!

I understand Level 6 troops are better than Level 5, but I wouldn't go out of my way to upgrade barbs, archers, or wizards right away unless the elixir is sitting there and the lab is idle. Better to spend that elixir on upgrading dark elixir drills up to level 6 which have very fast build times and high rate of return, and use that lab on hog riders, giants, and balloons. A lot of bang for the buck there.
Archers at Level 6 cost 7.5 mil elixir and 14 days, but you only gain 2 damage per second and 4 hit points. Other upgrades are much more time/cost efficient.
Giants at Level 6 are only 6 mil elixir and 10 days add 9 damage per second (even trade with 5 housing space) but a whooping 210 hit points. Balloons are even better, gaining 52 damage per second and 155 hit points.

I have been TH 9 for a few weeks after maxing TH8 and was worried that the loot would drop big time in my raids. HOWEVER I found that is not the case and just moving up in trophies to 1500-1700 range is really effective for every resource. I maxed my army camps, lab, and dark barracks 1st. then spell factory and have lvl 6 giants first and they are really great with the improved health in last update. AQ is defiantly something worth getting it helps a ton in raids and if you ever push she can make the difference in a lot of tight raids. But overall jumping to TH9 was all that it was hyped up to be! enjoy!

Thanks a lot for your advice, now I'm relieved. Will try to upgrade as many walls as possible to Level 7 before I reach TH9. After that it'll be army camps, AQ, X-Bows, and other stuff.
Also could you advise me on how I should go about with farming. Are there any popular designs for the same?

I am now about 2 weeks into Town Hall 9. Lab first obviously (which I was able to gem the time on, so it left a free builder and minions level 5 right away), queen is instant but after that 2 builders on DE drills until they are both level 6. 1 xbow started immediately, and the next 4 days later. Staggering the xbows by a few days is going to allow you to take them both to 3 non stop without worrying about sleeping builders. That 4 day stagger also allowed me to get all new buildings up.

-So, now I have 4 builders on task for about 30 days on just drills and xbows and the 5th builder cycles between army camps and the new storages and defenses.

-The passive DE income is the biggest upgrade from TH8-> 9 in my opinion (yes, more so than xbows) so I don't want to leave any on the table. Your heroes will thank you for it later.
