Need some Advice!

Hello!

I realised today the terrible mistake of having a maxed level town hall.

This is the state of my base at the moment; underleveled i know! I was tricked by the idea of having 3 dark elixer drills and the temptation for an archer queen and barbarian king proved too much.
I only found out today why all the bases I attacked have under 10k resources and was wondering if it would be worth it to push into a higher league to farm. I currently have level 5 barbarians, archers, giants and level 4 goblins and wall breakers. I haven't really attacked anyone in like 2 months because of the 1000g search fee and everyone holding 10k gold or less.

What would be an ideal league for me to join to farm some gold?
I was also wondering if it was safer to sit in silver 2 till my base is stronger so I don't get smashed by everyone?
I can just about scrape together enough gold from my mines to upgrade something everytime the builder comes off cooldown.

@xfgaming thanks for the thread was a very helpful read!

@Colton009 I've never read any clash of clans guides or anything up until now. Really silly of me! I had a great idea that maxing my town hall will give me extra mines and i'll be rolling in the money. I also wanted the extra dark elixir drills for my barbarian king and archer queen. Such a stupid mistake, looks like its going to we a slow grind to get my base up to scratch!

Ahhhh! It's such a shame you didn't come to the forums sooner!!!

Not to worry there are lots of players who have done the same and have bounced back. It just takes a lot of patience and perseverance.

I dunno anymore

I only have a lvl 5 TH and I kind of need to know how it is bad. I'm very stressed how I'm desperately trying to get coins and better defenses so I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I actually consider you guys lucky that you have such an awesome base so please tell me what's wrong with a lvl 10 TH.

Having a level 10 TH with under levelled defences and troops makes it that much harder to progress as troops and defences cost resources. Resources that you will get less of at TH10 with the loot penalty of attacking lower level THs.

This means that to get any decent loot you have to move up to higher cups to raid other THs your level to avoid the penalty. The problem is is that being that high and attacking advanced bases with under levelled troops and defences means that you will find it difficult to steal any loot and others will have no bother stealing yours which means you'll find it frustrating saving up for upgrades.

Man, you are in trouble.

Don't stay that low. TH7 will farm you dry.

Come up to 1600 T. Almost only TH8, TH9 and TH10 there. you should be able to farm a bit. Use your archers to attack exposed TH, you should get up quickly.

Forget angels for a bit. Don't think those are the fastest for quick gold/elix.

Your priorities:
1) mortar to level 6
2) wiz tower to level 6
3) upgrade your troops for better farming. What level are your minions? Level 5 can farm you nice gold with DE that you generate a plenty
4) pink those yellow walls when you can.

You know if I lightning your DE, I can get all your ressources at once? Change your core so you split your ressources. And get your clan castle in the middle. Nothing protect better than 25 archers or 6 Wiz coming out of the castle.

@Bomba From my experience right now, all the bases that I only have like 5000 of each resources to steal! Another problem i'm having is people are stealing 300k gold and elixir off me at a time so cant save up for the big upgrades. Don't upgrade your town hall till you levelled up your base to the max!

@Xarianax Thanks! Will make an update on my base in a few months time!

@Blackcollector Thanks for the advice. I will be following your priority list! I've never actually considered the lightning spell! Very few people cast it on the middle. My minions are level 1. I have never tried them before, but I had a quick go and they're really good! Looks like I've been wasting time on dragons. Would it be better for me to keep my townhall outside to protect my resources and for extra shields?

The best way to save ur save ur base is by gemming your level 6 troops or spending a lot of time getting the elixir .....GIANTS..ARCH..BARBS. Also once you have your 3 xbows up, will make your defense more solid!!

Those troops are valuable in your success to raiding at th10, but good luck what ever do.

I would start again... You have a long way to go!! I upgraded to TH9 too because of the xbows... I hadnt reach lvl50 yet!! I've spent more than 1/2 of my coc life at TH9... And i'm not even half way to maxing it... Best thing is to start over, max every building for every townhall... Much more pleasure!

It' not so bad :)

I've seen plenty worse than your base.

What you need to do is get yourself a top level farming army (quick to train and cheap as possible) as soon as you can, barbarians archers and minions, or giants archers and goblins. Also get yourself up to 1500-1700 cups and you will find lots of bases in the same sort of condition as yours loot them. Also it doesn't take maxed troops to hit inactive Th10 players mines and collectors so try to do easy exposed resources raiding (when you find them). And don't forget, try to do a few hours of raids without going offline. When your attacked ride the shield till the next time you have a few hours to kill.

Keep you TH outside. You won't win def anyway with those defs. You don't care about trophies anyway. To stay in the 1600 range, you need to win about 1/2 of your fights.

Don't rush the 3rd xbows and inferno towers. You need those mortars and wiz before. I haven't put the infernos in there because they cost too much for you right now.

i upgraded my TH9 at lvl 55,but it was recoverable.ur th also recoverable but only what u have to do that is patience.put ur th outside.save elixir for maxing ur troops.upgrade splash def as soon as possible then get xbows and upgrade ur walls to nxt lvl at least.

I've had a recent accident with my TH lvl 4 to 5 and I still didn't max out most of my storages so I'm screwed. Plus my lvl 5 TH has given me lots an lots of problems with defenses, too. Most of the time people get me really good with lightning spells when I on the other hand I don't have a spell factory yet, so I'm really stuck because I'm trying to upgrade storages and recourses a lot.

Funny I did the same thing at Th5 and at the time it felt like it was going to be a big struggle to get back on track, actually its not.

Your still in the early stages of the game and upgrade times are very quick especially in comparison with Th8 and Th9.

Th4 takes 7d 20h 9m (almost feels strange writing that) with 3 builds, to max out completely.
Th5 is still pretty quick with 26d 15h 9m (again with only 3 builders working)
The really big jump and something I have gladly just about finished is Th8 at 143d including all lab work.

In short its's the guys that don't go to the trouble of maxing, or even getting close to maxing, Th8 that normally get the big problems. A Th5 is, looking back, easy to max out. Buying the number 5 builder at Th7 was something I'm glad I did and if your enjoying the game I suggest you do. Time doesn't grow on trees but gems do (in CoC).
