Troop balancing

Is the dragon really dead No one uses dragons for forming loot Or trophy pushing This Troop has become The most ineffective troop in the game Mostly use for war in Past years But now You can barely get 50% destruction even with both xbows Set to target ground troops The dragon was the main stay Of clash of clans As well as the hog rider Even though This troop Make Appearances in All of the clash of clans commercials The hog rider might as well be dead himself Some troops Were just meant to be good war troops Since no one Forms or trophy push With Hog riders It made this troop the 2nd least effective troop in the game Especially With level 20 plus heroes one hit killing Them even with heal spell active. How much longer will you let everybody go crazy with balloons Currently I am a Max town Hall 9 And I specialize in creating defensive base design But in the last few months I've notice I'm losing Defensive matchups far too easily With the same attack Strategy Even when opposing attacker has no heroes or low Level heroes Because of Over powered balloons Even at town Hall 8 Vs 9 They still have a high percentage chance for the 2 star on Mid to Max level town Hall 9 [(Supercell Please we need a balancing update Or a new air defense defensive structure)]

Shh, don't tell that to the dragons in my camps with my 6000+ trophies legends base right now, they might start feeling useless. :)

Dragons are still great troops if you know how to funnel them.

Great for pushing trophies, gaining dark while you are pushing and still useful in war when hitting up for 2 stars 1 or 2 town halls higher than your own base.

Dragons are definitely not dead (saw 3 in GoT)

No defence buffs OP, to even mention these things is blasphemy. Say 10 hail barbarians and all is forgiven.

Ok firstly i would never use dragons for raids as they are far to costly to train a full camp i would rather use a cheap army and then the loots i get are not just to cover training costs but i still use dragons in war and find them effective usually on my th10 i can get a easy 2 star and 60 plus destruction and can still get three stars everytime on my th9,8 and 7 bases so nope dragons are not dead at all but a extra lev at th10 would be nice thou

Dragons do get an extra level at th10 though, then another at th11

Too expensive for farming and perfectly fine at th10 and 11. Hard to get triples with drags 9v9, as it should be for one of the easiest troops to use

BB has much better balanced troops because they level them equally and have equal cost. The downside is it takes new troops forever to catch up to old troops since they need like 9 upgrades to be viable and 13 to be competitive.

Still, it would probably help SC's balancing if they just released an upgrade for all troops at once... and... at least by the later levels, made cost/capacity equal for all units. If barbs and archers weren't just cheap throwaway then they wouldn't be seen as farming troops and would actually have to be balanced for. Pricey dragons, witches and pekkas would also have to be balanced properly so they wouldn't just be war and maxed based sorts of troops.

I hope that period key was broken, because this is such a long sentence, even then it’s not complete XD.


Anyway, Dragons are, IMO, a troop that needs a whole lot more skill than people give credit to the higher your go.

You need to do these key points in order to net a chance of getting a 3* those being simple to read but hard to do in practice. Destroy the AD’s, remove CC troops, remove an inferno, keep the dragons alive etc.

So, it’s not that they are ineffective at getting 3*, it’s that it’s very difficult to achieve.

dragons are more reliable but i have lvl5 & don't wanna save that much de spending all elixir

sometimes to push, you use more of 1 resource than the other to ballance your reserves, then switch to either the opposite troop loading or a ballanced one.

above th8, Dragons in war need so much more skill to get the 3 stars, but are great for a hit up for 2 stars. personally I have other attacks I prefer for war since my accounts are th10s and th11s, but for pushing when your pink balls are maxed out dragons are a great option.

but the problem with dragons is we have to next if both infernos are single target

to use dragons in legend league th11 , u need some skills ! but dragloons is a good strat for pushing in legend..it just needs more skills..hogs r good only for wars..so yeah..but pekka is more useless in higher THs..yeah !

I couldn't disagree more.

The dragon is not dead. In fact, it's used quite frequently at TH10 and TH11. Of course it's not high on the list to farm with. Its an expensive elixir hit. Would you farm for DE with valks?

The dragon is a very nice asset to have when attacking bases with deep IT's. And trophy pushing? Again, if elixir is not a concern- dragons can be a great comp choice.

Technically OP is not incorrect, he just needs to correct his punctuation. The dragon is dead, there are still 2 left alive, the one is dead, but moving so actually UNDEAD. the OP needs to correct his threads name to "Dragons are undead".

New halloween unit confirmed: Undead dragon. Blows down *any* level wall in one breath. :P

In the current war I am in the #2 of our opponent used dragons on our #1 and #2 bases and got healthy 2 stars on both. Both our #1 and #2 are TH 11's with maxed out defenses. This left their #1 to attack down and 3 star a lower base and they will likely win the war now. Dragons are not dead. The funnel is critical!!!!

In all honesty I never knew anybody did even use drags for farming unless you're th7 with max elixir.
Also dragons are actually great troops to use in war. I've used them in war at th8/9/10 and 3 starred with them at all those lvls, same with hogs.

Simply put, because it's fun to do so.

But I'll give an example or two... On one of my th9s, I have only 4 more levels for my BK to be maxed, everything else on the base is maxed. I farm with dragons and a QW and pull in with league bonus between 3-6k DE with every raid. It allows me to stay up in champs 1 or titans 3 and with the loot and league bonuses elixir (which I don't need at all) is ususally a wash anyways. On days where I have farming sessions, I bring in between 40-80K DE for the day in profit depending on the bases I find.

On my TH11 which is near maxed, (heros, walls and most troops and defences are maxed), If I want to farm for DE I use a few dragon raids and can top up DE in a day or two easily up in legends where you find bases with 7k DE or more regularly plus league bonus.

In TH8 and below where I have a couple of more minis I don't remember the last time I failed a dragon war attack.

So... Yeah... dragons are definitely not dead or useless as was stated by the OP.

That being said if you want to buff them a little more, then by all means go ahead :)

Th10: 38/40. Farm a king lvl a week with drags in Titan 3. Qw into drags.

I have a lab constantly upgrading and my heroes are flying and it's great. I even pick up the odd 3, not that often mind you but I do it. If you keep her alive and take down 2 ad before you start the drag portion they are lethal, and are very much the answer to bases you can't laloon :)

Now I don't think they're the best troop but they're not super useless as the op claims....however if there was to be a buff to drags I would be thrilled.....

Actually disregard my post. We should buff drags!!! More health and extra dps should be enough ;)
