Thanks! I'll try your tip too.

Congrats on getting all the event fish.. There is still only four people that have posted who have completed all 90 normal + all 12 event fish. I keep repeating how massive and difficult an achievement this is.. You have been added to the table as well, so keep me updated as to your progress...

First attempts of the day for my last 2. Result: 2 Zander's, 1 Sturgeon, and 1 Silver Carp (closest)

So I am getting really frustrated. For the second global fishing event in a row I have caught well over 1000lbs of fish but am still missing 3 gold-award fish: Carp, Barb and Sturgeon. Is getting a gold award fish just down to luck or is there something special to look out for? The fish that I catch that put up the most fight generally end up being really low weight bronze fish. I have caught loads of high value silvers but only ever 2 gold and both were Zanders. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Craig
Craig, There's a few of us on here at the moment that are trying for the gold Carp and Barb especially, that's why I started adding the different award areas in the OP as quick as I could this time around. This should help you a little bit..?? These two seem to be proving the most difficult to get, but the Sturgeon is not too difficult.. Because of the award allocation areas, quite a few are in the same area, so yes, there has to be an element of luck I'm afraid. You still have just under two days left, so you might make it. Good luck.

Finally I am on the list again

Regarding to the gold special fish, I think it is totally random. For me it was the sturgeon and the zander. Didn't get them last time around, but now got them both within an hour. Keep trying, you guys, do not give up..this coming from a rather poor fisher woman (in regards to tactics) :)
Ok thanks for the advice. I had read back a few pages but missed the updated table on page 1. I had another 8 attempts using some of the tips and got some really high silver values but still not gold. I guess I'll just have to keep trying later. Thanks for all your efforts on the fishing posts John.
