I'm feeling this too. It almost seems that troops on both sides of the pond have been coded to hit walls as a last resort only...would explain the long gol walks, the valks repathing halfway across a map, archers running away from thing, etc. My one mini gob knifes all the time and the other barches exclusively, and I've seen all troops run way further than it would've been to just hit a wall.
Last war our 4 (max 10 except walls, ring base) was cleared by valks, they cored the base as expected but then instead of hitting the backend walls they went back out the way they came and went all the way around the ring to get the remaining defences. What should've been a time out was a clear.
Edit: want to clarify I'm not saying this is bad, this is actually a good side to the AI, and probably what prompted the change
Edit 2: this would also explain why there's been no issue with air AI

The AI has definitely changed, and IMO not for the better.

in that image you can see the queen gets deployed there is a barracks and collector within range.
then those two buildings are destroyed. Typically the queen would then go straight north shoot the wall and go in and attack the CC or the Dark Elixer storage.

she targets the barracks the other side fo that edge of the map (the one by the minion the eastern corner). That is just stupid, and this is repeatable . If I deploy a king in the same spot, he'll go bang on the wall. The queen 100% of the time used to shoot the wall and go in.
I feel this change reduces skilled play and instead adds randomness. i.e. u deploy your troop and can not control what it will attack because it's looking at everything on the map darn near.
That definitely seems like a bit of a line of sight increase, however she also went well out of her way to avoid hitting walls when you actually wanted her too. Could be just typical queen misbehaviour...
But in all seriousness this does seem to back my theory they're programmed to avoid walls
Can we get a response from supercell/Darian please? This is more important than clouds/MM/etc. It affects the actual gameplay at all levels.

Im playing this game for almost 3 year, practicing and studying the prediction of troops direction, and since the latest AI change my prediction fail most of the time.
As a TH10 who knows how to 3 star TH10,
I really enjoy the game but if I have to study troops AI all over again, not so sure I will stay much further.
It just feels like slap in the face.
It truely is like working with a complete turnaround of staff. Just got to get used to thier quirks n..... quirks.
