Frustrated with game

I am a level 77 player who has been playing for several years. I have a great neighborhood, although we aren't very fanatical. I have starting growing very annoyed at the increase in what I assume is bot activity in the game. For me, the newspaper is a joke! There is no way to actually look for what you might need as it will already have been bought by bots! And this is no longer confined to expansion materials. It applies to literally everything available. I just needed to vent and was wondering if I'm the only one feeling this way. I am seriously considering quitting the game as it seems impossible to advance or open land anymore. Any comments or suggestions?

There are many avid shoppers in the newspaper. You need to be quick. When I go on a shopping spree, I go for anything produced.

If if you see a suspicious farm, you can take a screenshot and report the farm to in game support. Likewise, if you suspect you are a victim of the bot buyer.

Welcome to the forums. It is easy to feel like things are not as fun as they used to be. Since your NH is not fanatical (I assume you mean in the derby), change the way you play. Concentrate on things you have control over. If you haven’t earned all your achievements, pick a few to work on. Work on earning full mastery on your machines. You still have a few machines to buy, so work on earning coin by selling in your RSS. Your neighbors and friends will love you. Choose more carefully the boats and trucks you do.

There is so much that you still can have fun with. At level 139, I still change up my game. I rarely use the DD, not because of bot activity, but because my barn is always full.

From what has been discussed here, SC is aware of the bot farms and they are trying to get rid of them. With the impending update, maybe working on bots is not in the forefront for several more days.

Why do you know that bots have bought?

Most of the time I am too slow / my internet connection is too slow.

I'm an avid shopper. I have not really noticed a decline in the percentage of the time I'm successful in getting a certain item, whether expansion tools, rare food items, fruit, etc. It is always hit or miss and the percentages are not high for anyone.

If you only go to the paper occassionally and only try one or two times, your luck will not be good. I rarely get anything on first paper, as I might not have opened it as soon as it was available. Close that one and wait patiently for the mail box to start wiggling and then immediately open the new paper and move quickly. Lather rinse and repeat. It is certainly possible to get good items if you stay at it, assuming you have a good Internet connection speed.

Edited to say I think it is too easy to blame all problems on bots. There is undoubtedly bot activity, but there are a great number of people looking for the same items you are and they may just be quicker or have a better connection.

I understand your frustrations. A player even Don't start selling his planks but somebody Bought it. I don't know if its botting of something. Second is expansion materials that IMO are too much to store in my 125 spacing barn. Or else maybe I'm wrong?

SamirMishra, you may want to look in the “New to HayDay?” Sub-forum. There is lots of information there that can give you ideas of how to build your barn and silo. It sounds that you may have leveled up too quickly. This game is not about speed but resource management.

Lots of posts in bugs and problems about so called "dog bots" that grab upgrade items.

Some ideas on how to rid your own game from infestation, but nothing material about removing the problem within the game as a whole.

I'm level 96 and have been playing this game on multiple farms for over 3 years. There most definitely has been a change in the newspaper situation, I started to notice it about 4-6 months ago. There is nothing wrong with my internet connection, I have the same internet provider/connection that I always have, and there is no issue except for when I'm trying to buy from the newspaper. Even when I time it to open the paper to be the first in, all of the "good" items are already sold. The only reason I even bother anymore is because sometimes people will continue to add items and I can luck out and be the first to grab those, also it's great if I need low-demand items like chili popcorn and bacon & eggs, I never keep those in my barn because they are so easy to just buy when I need them. I don't know if the problem is "bots" or what it is but something definitely has changed. The bright side is that these recent changes had me come here to this forum to try to figure things out, and I have learned a lot including about the trading system so now I am going to try to do some trading instead of focusing so much on the newspaper. :)

I know sometimes, some people have what seems like a delay, a feeling that your jumping mailbox is just a second behind which sometimes fixes itself after a maintenance. It is rather hard to describe when it happens to you.

lets just say if you are looking for eggs and you hit a refreshed mailbox and go to the egg ad and eggs are gone and money collected already... Is frustrating!

I have a galaxy tab s2 (two qad core processors, 3gb ram) and a galaxy tab È (single quad core, 2Gb ram)

On rare occasions I can buy an expansion item on the s2, never on the tab e ... the paper just opens too slowly.

I could buy stuff on the s2 much more easily a year ago, I just assume there are more people going for the stuff now.

The Big problem to buy in DD is mostly because the coins is worthless , to oldtime players We have so many we can buy all things we see , And no real reason to sell anything , If we dont simply wish to get rid of it ,
And this meens many try to buy and few sell things ,
And that is why the "bot buyers " have good times , if the coins hade a value the bot would have a hard time ,In Lyngby Farmers we hade 7 farms that hade 'bot buyers on them "10 Days ago ,
But HD got them finally , ( I was on the way to stop playing for a while no fun playing if you have a bot on you )

Thanks everyone for the replies and suggestions. I don't believe it's my internet as I have a great connection and the fastest speed available. Maybe it's not bots, but as one reply stated, no,matter what the item or how fast I open the paper, I am almost never able to purchase anything. And if I do, I only get one chance at one thing. Then everything is gone. Maybe they should try to make the paper different? Local? I don't know. And can anyone tell me about trading and how I can find it here on the forums? As you can see I'm new to the forums. I get lots of building expansion items that I usually sell as I don't need them. It would be great to trade them for land tools. Thanks again

Still, it should not be so. Trading is not officially supported by Supercell, and it is odd it ends up being the only way some people have of finding what is needed for upgrades. We end up open to scamers, as has been reported here, without being able to denounce them.

I have the same experience as you SundaeToppings, with the DD. I remember when I first started to play that it was so exciting to go shopping and my NH friends would go off and come back with so much to share with us, even one of players would take orders from us and more times than not, be able to complete them all.

I have a thought on this: Groups that have been setup on different media platforms such as FB, Kik, this forum and I am sure others where trading takes place for most items in HayDay. I believe this has made a difference to the DD. I also used to shop the night that Derby closed because people would sell tools they didn't need that they received as prizes but it doesn't happen now. I know SC don't support trading outside of the app but with their not being able to control the bot situation, players have to resort to other methods, to sell to others.

I also feel something has changed. Only a few months back I could get what I needed. I'm fast, my tech is responsive, and nothing wrong with the internet. Yet recently, I've noticed the same thing as mentioned by others, items are selling meteorically fast!
Everything sold in nano-seconds.

As someone has already said, it's only if I'm lucky to get somewhere late and get lucky that I find anything at all! And friends' RSS has also helped.

No idea what it is, but it sure feels like something!
