How to Make hog riders less OP

Basically the hog rider can jump over walls and well demolish, so the idea is pigs, are the things that cause the hogs to jump are the pigs, so if the pigs arent there, he will have to make his own way around.
So basically all defencive structures will damage the pig first, unless there is splash, if splash occurs it will damage Mr T and the Pig.
Once the pig has ran out of HP, it will run in to 8 different directions moving between 6-8 blocks. The chance of running in the directions will be equal and totally random. it will run in, north, east, south, west, northeast, southeast, southwest, northwest.
once the pig has ran, and died, Mr. T will have to make his own way around.
