The point of walls?

I am about to max out my defenses at TH9. All my walls are skull, with about 50 level 9 walls.

Our clan is in a trophy push and I managed to reach Master II. The sad part is I spent so much time farming walls yet I don't really see a point, none of the real trophy armies care about walls, especially hogs and balloonions.

I basically see 3 types of attacks happening - Hogs (85%), Balloonions (4%), Golem/Witch/Hogs (11%). These are estimate numbers, don't quote me - just my experience!

Since level 6 wall breakers, there is no real difference between level 8 and level 9 walls - takes 2 for both... I also don't see myself grinding 250 level 10 walls!! :o

So the question is, except for protecting your resources while farming, what is the point of walls?

For someone who is a TH9... im making the assumption that you have been playing for a while...

Therefore the answer to your question is available in the History of CoC.


SC Create a Super new Troop (either new or Buff to existing) in one release, then there will be a change to Defences etiher an upgrade or New one introduced... This then alters the balance.

Basically the point is that although Walls seem usuless now, up until recently this was not the case, history dictates that SC will release an update that makes walls more significant again....When they Nerf Hogs/Balloons then guess what....

Personally, i think lvl8 walls are fine, i cant see the point in going any higher than lvl8 when last trophy push all i copped was hogs and bloons/minions. As for farming, most​ farmers are usually too intimidated by black walls, if not then maxxed defenses tells me not to even bother trying to farm.

At this present moment walls are useless with troops like Hogs. I've spent countless hours maxing my TH9 and walls then someone just drops 40 hogs with heal and wipes me out.... not a chance of winning!!!

Relatively easy to fix the hog problem. :) Not 100% effective but it works most of the time.

I hear what you are saying and had that at the back of my mind, however, balloons/minions have gone untouched for a long time though, and hogs were just nerfed.

I pray you're correct!

I will try to do all level 10 walls at TH9, simply because I'm not yet attracted to TH10. I'd rather wait a few months for TH11 and then farm the ♥♥♥♥ out of them with my maxed TH9 armies.

Bill is correct, but for now walls are overrated. Thus why I have turned into a DE hunter for my heroes (since all my def are maxed)

I don't believe Balloons need a nerf, they are perfect as they are very slow.... If Hogs were as slow this would stop all these constant 100% losses.
