Are your gold and elixer storages maxed out? If not, spend those hours as best you can because TH5 has awesome loot potential compared to TH6, and full storages will make getting started so much easier.
Once you get to TH6, just work on your lab stuff as fast as possible - upgrade the lab, and get your troops upgrading. Also, all army camps maxed, and at least one barracks maxed. Do your walls while you do this, and any new defenses you get, to use gold.
Here's the layout I used for TH6 - it did pretty well, unless a TH7 decided to level me...

The first thing you should do is buy and upgrade your new mortar and wizard tower

I started putting my air defense inside my base at town hall 6 because of the giant healer strategy
This is pretty much a good call... the TH7 upgrade takes 4 days, which is a long time if you play a lot. I definitely wouldn't bother maxing everything at TH6, just max your troops and spells and army camps and at least one barracks (preferably more). Don't waste the four days of upgrade time. TH7 is definitely where you can get much better troops, and it takes ages to get your troops to level 4, upgrade your new army camp, etc, so you can easily "catch up" at TH7. Just make sure you enter TH7 with level 3 troops, then get them to level 4 asap.Quote:

Upgrade your mortar cannons and buy new defenses.
First thing u should do is go for TH7, between that time Upgrade Camp/Lab and do all the research u can. thats what i am doing. GL
Do your camps and lab upgrades first. Then mortars, wizard towers, etc
Fix up your base and prioritize your defense. You will be raided a lot.

I love these people that say they've maxed but haven't. Also, not maxing your collectors is really really dumb. They give you loads of free resources and you choose not to do them?!

THIS IS WHAT I HATE ABOUT UPGRADE GUIDES. They always tell you to upgrade lab first. They say that this will help you upgrade quick. BUT! THEY ARE WRONG! LET ME TELL YOU WHAT IS RIGHT NOW! My advice: Upgrade your Gold and Elixir storage before th6 and at least have all mines at lvl 8. after you hit town hall upgrade start saving gold and elixir. Don't spend them and drop your trophies if needed to prevent raids that take away loot. I always upgrade my town hall at night. The reason behind this goes to the first structure needed to built in this tutorial. After your town hall is finished upgrading, buy the walls and upgrade them to lvl 2. This will take 25000 gold, which is a really small amount. After that, buy the mortar, air defense and wizard tower with your three builders. They will be finished building during night, making you feel like you did not wait at all. and then upgrade other structures, first barracks, then the lab. HAVE FUN WITH THIS QUICK WAY!!!Quote:
