Smelters

Why do we get 5 smelters but say only one dairy or sugar mill?
I have 3 smelters but they are mostly not getting used unless I get a special truck order. But I desperately need more of other production buildings. So what do you think is the reason behind this?

I’m not sure of the real reason why we can have up to 5 smelters, but the length of time it takes to refine the different ore and the amount you will need to produce jewelry can be daunting.

Not sure what level you are, but at level 139, I keep all 5 of the smelters working 90% of the time. You can get diamonds when you mine and if you make jewelry, you can sell it in your RSS or fill truck orders. Double coin truck events can be very lucrative. No need to increase the slots on your smelters beyond 3 (IMHO).

I was wondered about that too. I have 10 smelters, all mastered, they all work 24/7(I am a passionate wheater, so i have mining tools out of yin-yang), and yet, they barely keep up with my one and only jeweler. If it is an balancing thing, it makes for some odd balance..

I am on the 'wheat/mine/smelt/jewellery/truck' cycle and my smelters work constantly, and I still can't use all the ores. I only do it for the truck order vouchers, though I have loads already. I suppose it keeps me off the streets...

Oh but do you get a lot of truck orders for silver/gold/iron bars? I hardly get one in a blue moon.
If there were more orders it would definitely make some sense to have so many smelters! I could get those vouchers and more pets.

My thought about smelters it's because there are 5 different metals with various times to make them. I use them just like that, each smelter is dedicated to one metal on my farm. This keeps me with a steady flow of bars which you need to upgrade personal train, as well as make jewelry. As you get further there will be truck orders for bars. On my board right now there's 3 orders for 11 silver bars each. I'm level 98 though. I have mastered my smelters

i get many orders for bars, as well as jewelry. i'm level 93

If you keep deleting the truck board you get enough jewellery requests of all sorts
