And most of us don't see a problem with SC trying to match this line up with a "similar " lineup.

Actually Darien said clans with a competitive roster could take a long time to match. With each passing day clans are adapting to the new match maker. I suspect less available clans are in the pool to match OP. 43 days times 5 builders is over 200 build days.

Supercell probably won't do too much to answer your concerns.
My base was a 9.11 with max heroes before the MM changed, but after I decided to drop infernos. I maxed out all my archer towers and cannons, left my mortors at lvl 5, 3 wiz towers at 5, and a lvl 1 bomb tower. Then got infernos and xbows to lvl 4 (best DPS per weight), and finally upgraded 5 wiz towers to lvl 7, and mortors to lvl 6 (1 hit skelly), now just finishing a few bomb tower levels.
Point is there are ways to stay engineered while you build defenses.
Now you have a few eagleless TH11s that gets 3 starred 5% of the time and you pair with some Th11s with select troops, and fill in the middle with th9s, that's how the Asian clans do it nowadays.

I'm here to point out that this is about day 46 now with no war in the clan where we parked the bulk of our spare engineered accounts (mostly un used now.. since we obviously cant get a war with them we have mostly quit playing those accounts)
Farm wars are going along ok... 'regular wars' with heavies mixed in are still matching a mix of BAD unwinnable wars / and sometimes at best having a small advantage on our side - results are extremely unique each war even using the same accounts you get big variances... very strange...
the MM used to be spot on perfect in matching weight to weight - easy to predict who was going to get what for a mirror... As i've said many times -- this game should be 100% above board- open and honest with its playerbase - fully explaining every detail of how things work...
They should not be worried about who finds a way to exploit it; they should be concerned with designing an open and honest system that works - one that everyone can understand and one that has very few loopholes for exploitation or error.
Easy as heck to do if they just wipe everyones account and make everyone 'max at each level'... problem solved. Then those who try to do it on purpose; along with those who do it on accident will no longer mess things up for the rest of the people who want these 'fair wars'.

When you say matchmaking used to be spot on when matching mirrors are you talking about 4 months ago, or 2 years ago? There is a big difference.
And obviously they can't make things perfect without obseving what people do in their game. Very few exploitations or errors? That's enough to make everyone suffer on daily basis, at the expense of your 1 clan searching for 46 days. Makes sense right?
I am guessing the OP is talking about pre August/September update.
Prior to this update we used to get matches with clans with an almost identical roster of max, rushed, .5 engineers. 30v30 or 40v40 with a spread from TH11 down to TH3. Why did we have such a spread? ans: Because we were inclusive (all adult clan) with friends and family and let everyone play. We had a ratio win/loss of 2:1 and always put in 100% effort, with our lowest percentage damage in the last 2 years of 92%.
Since the update we were matching with mass engineered clans, I guess due to out spread and style of bases, loosing 7 in a row despite still averaging 94% over those losses.
Due to the change causing losses and frustration (our 2 TH11s facing enemy 10xTH11 with key maxed troops and GW), many regulars have left the game, or gone inactive for the last 2 months, (we were always 30 to 40 green for war, now 15 max) forcing us to go to 10v10 (TH11-TH9) wars, and make a new clan to try out the new 5v5 with lower bases. Some are adding defenses early after upgrading town hall as they are basically being forced to do this to avoid the MM curse.
Since making a narrow 3 TH spread maxing base war roster, we have been finding winnable wars, even this has been taking hours sometimes with a TH6 and lower war. So it seems unless you have a clan with a small spread of maxing bases, clan wars are almost becoming a side event for the few, compared to fun for the masses in our clan as it was pre update.
How are they going to tempt these long term players back to the game? Who knows.....
It is good to hear the matchmaker is still working as intended by not giving you the mismatch you have engineered your clan to try to achieve. Each day that goes on with your clan not getting a match is another day that goes by with some other poor clan not having to get 100% destroyed by your extreme roster engineering. So, thanks for the update. Good news is always welcome. How much defense have you added in the last month on all of those accounts? Or are you just holding them as is, hoping the matchmaker goes back at some point to giving you horrible mismatches in your favor?
