Some threads are gifts that keep giving. Blombardo seems to be a fine person as far as I can tell, but alot of people feel justice every time they post on this doosey. Even those who play like blombardo must be curious if wars will ever return for him/her.Quote:

This is obvious for anyone building an account that is designed to keep low weight.. One builds the defenses that hold the MOST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK -- the best return for your investment - the highest DPS and HP with the lowest impact on war weight-- one who picks and chooses carefully and hyper optimizes their choices in defensive building (skipping some) and levels ( not maxing all of them but stopping when they reach diminished returns) is the best way to build defensively -- no matter what the MM says...Quote:

So yea -- you have to finish the light weight things first... which takes quite a few years of waiting and after your base is 95% max - and heroes / offense 100% done-- I see no reason to add infernos or eagles -- nor any reason to increase other heavy defenses up to near max levels.. because-- as I've said many times - I prefer having an easy time in the game where I can always get 100% every war... To do that - one must maintain lower weight and avoid max tens and 11's in your war; unless your sure that you have plenty of attempts to figure out how to clear every last one of them.
I miss the days of being able to use these 9.11's on top and get nice easy th9 and 10 mirrors... yes we can agree to disagree if you dont like the concept of a 60k th11 account being #1 that has a relatively guaranteed chance of getting 100% 3 star on its enemy #1 mirror while that enemy #1 mirror has an 85 to 95% chance of getting 3 stars back using its th9 offense against your (mostly)th8 defense and some th10 defense... at worst over the past year - with the penalties - you'd have an enemy th10 with 40/40 heroes having a 100% chance of getting 3 stars on you while you had a 90% chance of 3 starring his th10 with stronger defense. I thought that was a respectable solution to supercells MM problems (and the minority public who didnt engineer)...
But apparently that was not enough... so the latest functional version would pit those same 70k ish 9.11 accounts in the top 5 positions vs 2 max 11's and 3 max tens on the enemy top positions... so now the enemy has a 100% chance of getting 100% this war with half their army and a few spells left over in the end - while our accounts would have a 0% chance of 3 starring max th11 using NON max heroes...
and now we get zero wars... so its just getting better and better (sarcasm) for those playing this game.
--The good news is my local community has seen me doing a lot more volunteer work this past month; my home remodeling projects going great and I have lots of spare time to do things with friends... Bad news is -- if we actually DID get a war at this point - I probably wouldnt even notice it until its mostly over as I barely log in anymore lol... other than to do farm wars.
*Also of note the friendly helpful people in game support are totally unable to answer me on any of these questions - they just keep giving me cut and paste replies or general unhelpful things... sure is hard to get an answer around here... Lucky I've learned that we have to wait years to get something like an answer and often we have to figure it out on our own...
Sure would be nice if supercell would address this with an explanation; a vision and a public plan.

I would think by now you expect certain people to respond the same way.
Supercell never (IMO) will explain how you want, what their vision is, other than playable by all. The same way they still have not made a definition of engineering, or what the proper play style is. They run the risk of permanently losing a subset of their customer base. Better strategy is to make vague statements most agree with. Improve matchmaking, reduce advantage, etc.
I would say if you are looking for an answer, measure the results. You’re not matching with a hyper customized roster. I would deduce they are stating hyper customized rosters are not their concern and the goal would be to normalize them.
I'm sorry blombardo but SC will say nothing, as it should be. If you ask me they should even make all weights hidden, look how few engineer offensively, that's because it's not easy enough for the masses. If you like though the intro does say defence is just as important as attacking so I guess they have been saying it all along, it just was never true till recently. Any hopes you have of a MM like the one you loved so much are a waist imo. It took them this long to start fixing the MM and I can't see them reversing course for a few outliers. You had a good run of being able to line up incredibly easy matches, alot of the clans you faced didn't like it, and now it's over. I know that's not the answer you want but it is the answer. You just need to decide if you want to keep playing. I'd recommend giving it a go, balanced wars can be really fun and the close wins are all the sweeter. I really think it's time to just accept things for what they are.
The only reason to build an account that is designed to keep low weight is to gain an advantage in clan wars by exploiting the match matcher. SC has stated that they are removing this exploit. If this exploit has been removed wouldn’t it follow that diminished returns from defenses is nullified and that it does matter what the MM says. Is it possible that your way of thinking doesn’t apply to today’s game?Quote:

they actually said they would remove the advantage. Nothing was said about making it so clans couldn't get a match or punishing them in some way. While I disagree it is exploiting the MM it is gaining an advantage. Personally I see nothing wrong with it. If it gets removed Im ok with that too. There was a time where dehydrating before a boxing fight to make weight wasn't used and the first fighters who did got a 10-20 lb weight advantage. Today it is normal practice and the advantage naturally went away without the governing body having to step in.Quote:
