Dude Its 1 line of code, and Its simple to explain, Its a progressive system, increasing at an increasing rate, so the more lopsided you are, the higher your tax, so extreme lopsided gets extreme tax. Supercell said years ago balanced was the prefered playstyle, Its not complicated to code or explain.

A minimum hall weight per hall level set at, for example, 90% of the max hall weight one hall below, doesn't destroy the game for all hall rushers who rushed their defense even if there is no offensive check since many already have a defense that weighs in higher than than 90% of the max weight one hall below (dropping the big defenses and having such high defensive weight is their problem). Also, if you add an offensive check such that the minimum weight is only applied if the offense is high enough, you don't destroy the game for any of the hall rushers.

As for SC's response, I don't see them actually responding anyway.

I'm not against nerf's system. I like it. Whether SC has the ability to implement it effectively I'm not sure. I do know they already have a max weight for offense and defense for each hall level. They can use the numbers they already have to apply a minimum hall weight if the player's offense is X% of the max offensive weight one hall below. Very easy and very easily explained.

Nerf's would be better, if SC could do it properly.

your system with the extra check borders on being more complicated than nerfs, is it based on offence or not, is it townhall based, who am I?

nerfs is clear, Its a progressive system based on offence only, i havent code in 15 years and could code it in 30 minutes, mainly due to having to look up whatever language the kids are using now days.

Yes, that for the short term, and a link to dorsans system in the long term (or onyx's with set times and best fit) and ask why not implement that in the longer term.

They may have come up with the idea independently, but if they used the term "weight tax" with ClashTutor perhaps they got it from you.

I was happy to hear some statements recently from Darian that seem to be counter to what has been said before, though. Perhaps the tide is turning. As was mentioned earlier, SC is very slow to react sometimes. Look how long it took them for hall sniping and modding. Maybe they finally are getting close to the point of saying it is more important to force even wars than it is to support the "freedom" to upgrade however you want.

I hope you wrong, allthough Its possible supercell took the idea and left out the important part, Its strongly progressive nature, which clearly isnt in effect.

they definetly are doing something, our clan lost our matchmaker advantage since the initial update, i am learning new attacks and have dropped my eagle on my main 10.75. i even went to the air last war, and this war 0 starred a "Queen walk" of embaresment. Hopefully that wont prove to be a huge error (the eagle I mean).

Is it possible that this was one of the big reasons they brought Darian in? The devs probably did not have time to interact with us. So they needed a go between so that they could start applying a fix to the war MMA. They saw it was becoming an issue and Darian obviously has valuable experience in situations like this.

Yes, I agree. There is something going on with defense matching. I input a lot of data/matches and defense weights were usually very close for most of the roster. More extreme variance at the bottom and top. But if you look at the defensive weight break downs I posted in the sitcky of our last few wars, There is an obvious (really big difference in lane weights). It has made for some tough wars especially since those wars they opposing clans had offense and defense advantage. Defense matching was loosened too much and offense weighting was still to light.

I do feel they are at least facing the right direction though with the MMA even with respect to our clan getting extremely challenging matches.
