Several things i came up with after a week of experience

Dear community, first of all please do not hate me if i do not follow the rules of the suggestion section. I try my hardest to do so. Also please forgive me for my terrible grammar and my terrible vocabulary.


So i am a Dutch person and i am addicted to C.o.C. since day 1. I do play for about a week now and i believe i got enough experience and knowledge to bring in these suggestions. Feel free to give me any feedback to improve the ideas but please no hating.


Idea 1: Waiting list
Let the users to be able to add up to 3 construction upgrades for their waiting list. This way they do not have to wake up during midnight to quickly start another upgrade. This might benefit the addicted people like me and keep their sleep schedule untouched. So they won't break mentally by having a terrible sleep schedule.

Con: This might be abused to level up things to fast on low level. Maybe enable it from a certain level?

Idea 2: Clan wars
Since the game is named clash of clans, wouldn't it make sense to actually be able to enemy a certain clan and actually go to war with them only for sources? To make sure it won't become to who has the best top, make it so that only a few attacks per day are allowed on only a certain range of level/experienced people around your own level/experience. This way the war stays legit and no bosses will crush wealthy new guys to give them a terrible feeling.

Con: Clans might enemy you while you don't wanna go to war, leaders might need to accept the war before it can find place?

Idea 3: Brother/sister clan
Be able to connect to other clans to chat in 1 chat all together and donate to each other. Since clans only have a maximum amount of people allowed, clans start to make second clans with some weaker people. These may be called education clans or secondary experienced clans or maybe booth camp clans. What ever it may be called, wouldn't it be nice to connect to an x amount of clans to help and support each other with donations and chat feedback?

Pro's: Better players won't only ask better players to join their clans. They will now accept the new people from android more easily. I did notice loads of android players are being rejected by the more mature and stronger clans simply cause they are not experienced enough. Having a secondary clan which does accept newer people will be a good thing to be around and help these people but not lose your own clans strength in the ranking list of best clans.

Cons: Couldn't think of any, maybe top clans doing this to even become stronger?

1: high lvls can only build 2-3 things at a time due to increased prices and reduction in resources gained.
low lvl ppl have it easy and have no issue with building, if they want to build more they can buy builders huts or do achievements for gems.

2: always in debate, there are many threads dedicated to clan wars, try using the search bar to find a few.

3: maybe so but u could just hop to their relevant clans to chat.

What prevents two clans from cooperating in an exchange of resources in your clan wars scenario?

Actually, queueing upgrades/builds has recently been ruled out. Also, I like the idea of clan wars but we need a little more detail.

I'm planning to pull a Mastermind and make a Clan Wars thread with pictures, stay tuned! (The pics don't hold a candle to Mastermind's, though.)

Please before you do, consider your idea very carefully.

Make sure you address and eliminate loop holes (such as the one introduced in this post). Make sure it is enjoyable by all (shared clan bases that only the leader can attack with is not fun).

Also make sure it keeps with the spirit of the game. Part of the game's appeal is that you can pick it up, do a quick battle, and put it back down. A successful clan wars implementation should not require folks to all sign on at the same time and play for specific durations (ala WoW raids) and should also account for the fact that many clans contain folks from different timezones. In addition people should be able to opt out without significantly impacting the clan wars effort.

What if the clan reached it's maximum capacity and someone suddenly hops to a clan belonging to the same group for a day. Someone didn't notice this and invites a high skilled friend in to the strong clan. There goes your spot.

This is why i suggest this option. Though it's just an idea and i really do thank you for trying to find wholes in the idea so we can see if it can be improved.

Well as i said the leader of clan number 1 would have to send his clarification of war. Which as to be responded to by the leader from clan number 2. If this clan accepts it then the war goes on. This could last an X amount of days.

Besides that, a voting system could be made where as 75% or more will have to vote for the war and more then 50% of that should agree with it before it actually would go any further. It's quiet easy to think those wholes trough with some creativity. Just go t to think of it's usability and if the players are willing to use it.

I did not say that only the leader could attack. I said make sure everyone would only be able to attack an X amount of level ranged people around him/her. So that it would NOT come down to just the leaders who fight for who is the strongest and can crush most of the others clan.
Sorry if i made you misunderstand that situation. I was trying to explain how it should not end up like.

You're not following me here. What keeps me from creating a clan full of farming accounts, declaring war on it, and rearranging the bases on my farming accounts so that I can easily collect the resources?

Clan warfare would have to randomized similar to the way matchmaking is now. However, this lends itself to all of the same problems we see with the current matchmaking system.

The idea of clan wars is a deceptively complicated one. Every idea I have seen for it to date has one or more of the following problems:

1. Technically infeasible. Multiple folks all attacking at once on a giant battlefield is a prime example.
2. Full of loop holes that would allow folks to do things they shouldn't.
3. Too complicated. Pretty much ways to try and deal with issues 1 & 2 resulting in ideas that contain a bunch of "plugs". If you need to make a huge list of exceptions for a given idea, the likely case is it simply is not a great idea.
4. Not fun. Requires the entire clan to participate and/or only allow the leader to do stuff. Examples of this center around a shared clan base that everyone contributes resources to but only the leader can attack with.

The fact is there are simply a ton of variables to consider, perhaps too many. Some other commonly missed ones that I haven't addressed yet in this thread are:

1. Clan disparities. For example a trophy based matching system that can be gamed by whole clans dropping trophies. Another example of this is dealing with clans of varying size.

2. Dealing with folks leaving and joining the clan or even leaving one clan involved in the war and joining the other.

What other problems are associated with clan wars? I'd like to make sure I address them all before I post my thread.
