If every festival got added to tbe the game the would be no normal days left on the game and surely festivals are ment to be enjoyed with family and friends not on a game
How about adding the following holidays from around the world that falls at the same time as Diwali:
Lord of the Miracles: Lima, Peru.
Heroes' Day: Jamaica.
Kenyatta Day: Kenya.
Revolution Day: Guatemala.
Army Day: Honduras.
Overseas Chinese Day: Taiwan.
Revolution Day: Somalia.
John Paul II Day: Vatican.
Do you think that SC should only add Indian holidays to the game?
No this is only Diwali like environment
Very well said Mrlk.Though Halloween and Christmas are also festivals but they are included in the game! Then why not diwali or Hanukkah or others?
gohilakash,it takes up a lot of time and effort to create a theme specifically for a holiday.Creating icons,sprites,compiling/editing codes and then testing them....they all take a lot of time. With very little devs working for coc this would be a herculean job given that they already have a lot of things to improve in the game(i am talking about the matchmaking, ofcourse :p ).Since diwali is on 19th oct, they wont be able to deliver it by then.Yes,they could give out prizes or gems for Indian players but apart from that a diwali theme would be out of question.
Gorbash he is talking about a festival, not day....these two are very different culturally.Like you cannot compare halloween to earth day as they are entirely different from each other.
Wait what? A holiday is the day or days when a festival is celebrated. A festival is a day or period of celebration. The only difference between the two is that you do not go to work on a holiday. Festivals may not excuse you from work. There is nothing culturally different between a holiday and a festival.
Why can't you compare Halloween and Earth day? Neither are holidays, both celebrates a specific event. Are you saying one is a festival while the other is a holiday?
If you are going to differentiate festivals from holidays then there are a whole lot more festivals in the world than there are holidays because festivals does not have to be sanctioned by the government. If Diwali is a festival that will be included in the game then I want all the festivals included as well. You can find a list of US festivals here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._United_States. I am sure other countries have other festivals like Germany's Oktoberfest, Brazil's Rio Carnaval, Ireland's St. Patrick day, etc.
Firstly google the meaning of festival,u will find that a festival is a day or period of celebrations, typically for a religious purpose.I never brought the word holiday in my comment.
Secondly we cant compare halloween with earth day because one of these finds its significance through the cultural traditions of a particular religion(in halloween’s case its christianity, hunnakah in jewish, diwali in hindu..etc) and the other is a day brought into effect by government of a particular region or regions(in this case..earth day, rose day, aids day etc).Days are invented to raise awareness of a particular issue while festivals are based on beliefs of people.Got the difference?
Lastly,I totally agree with you, every festival should be included in the game and not just christmas and halloween....if this is a global game, then they should uphold that standard by either giving weightage to all or to none.
In conclusion i would like to say...its just a freaking game :p and its meant for our enjoyment. We should treat it as such.Let us leave the inclusion of festivities and other such things be discussed in parliaments of the real world...why are we debating over it for a game?
If multiple festivals of different types happen in the same time period, what are you going to do about it?
You are distinguishing festival from the holidays I mentioned in my post as if by definition festivals should be included in the game. I noticed that you underlined religious in the definition you presented. Why? Should Diwali be treated any differently just because it has religious connotation? Festivals do not need to be religious.
Why can't we compare a day with religious connotation with another that does not? What is so special about a religious day that makes above comparison against any other day?
This is a game made by SC and not a democracy. There are no doctrine that imposes equality for all.
This is a forum where we discuss all things about the game. The OP brought up the inclusion of an Indian religious festival and there are those who are against it, therefore we discuss it.
