Small bump! This thread is a month old, dang i hope sc has seen it by now hahhah
I like the idea.
i have another add to the idea: the buff barb option (the one that gives more HP for the barb) maybe the barb could wear a shield?
I really like the concept of this idea.
Please correct me if I've read wrong but lvl 1 mutation is a continuation of stats of a lvl 6 original? If so they would need to bring out more levels of defence for balance.
Great idea
Seems like a pretty cool idea, hope to see it at least acknowledged by sc.
? What does op mean? Not in the forums often enough overplayed?
Do it!!!!!!!!!!
Bump, almost to 5,000 views!
Amazing! Almost 80 votes on saying yes! Thank yall
Instead of losing the mutation you previously chose, you should be able to switch between mutations.
That sounds ABSELOUTELY AMAZING! I WOULD LOVE ALL OF IT, apart from being unlocked at max troops, i think it would be better at town hall 6 as there is no point of upgrading lab from 4-5 as it unlocks no new stuff.
Working on a new update! Would you guys want...
Better mutations
or
Muatations for traps, spells and walls?
Better mutations.:o
Instead of just an increase of stats, I'd rather see some new abilities, like the one the Healer has.
Bump. Maybe if we can get some more votes that would be great :D
Hi!
While this is well thought out and highly detailed, it appears to be that you are suggesting something like alternate upgrade paths. While I think that this might work for towers, and even for spells, I think it is too complicated and based along the lines of other PC based tower defense games such as kingdom rush and the BTD line.
Yeah, it was sort of inspired by those types of games. And yes, it is very complicated and a bit over powered at the moment witch is why they would need counter towers and such. Since it is complicated it would add much more strategy and wonder to the game allowing us to experiment with different attacks :D
Any feedback is appreciated, good or bad :D
I guess a little bump couldn't hurt anyone right?
Personally I am not really bothered about this. There are too many updates (even if they are just small trivial updates like new level to archer/wizard towers or a new troop level) for TH10's... The vast majority of the money spent (as in real money) on this game is by people working there way up to TH10.... Just make clan wars.... this will be something for everyone. Giving the TH10's a pile of new super troops wont help develop the game for the 95% of players (paying $ and non-paying $).
This is really cool! nice pics btw ;) I would like to see this in action at some point, maybe halloween? :P
I think this is a VERY good idea i like who the troop will be disabled while mutated which will make it not as overpowered.I honestly think this can work this will cause some diversity between people's troops 😎
I think this is a great idea
This has to be the most genius idea ever but for the P.E.K.K.A. I think a better name then P.E.K.K.A girl is U.L.T.R.A
Indeed this is a very brilliant idea :) but the "what ifs" are the gems for the Scientists. Not all clashers are capable of investing money on their bases. The balance between chiefs will be dis organized. but as for me this is a very brilliant idea. having two options for mutations is a most of a catch. Some ideas are awesome like the Ice Dragon. maybe it will turn out to be Dragon level 5. kudos!
Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks!
Wow, great idea!
Thanks! But yes, scientists can be achieved withour gems but it would require more gems for more of em :D
I love this idea, just what the game needs to be even better, I have a few add-on's though: 1) Could towers be resistant to certain elemental or other special mutations? 2) Could towers have mutations when reached max level, like elemental attacks, double/triple shot, etc 3) and finally, when/if these mutants are turned back to the original state of lvl1, could the price of upgrade be cut in half, or does it stay the same?
1)Yes, depending on what towers and tower upgrades are thrown at us in the future :D
2)Yeah. I will be adding towers, spells, walls, traps sometime in the future.
3)No, when you are th10 or 9 with maxed troops then it will be easy to go back up but maybe the time can be
Almost 100 votes to yes :D
This is an awesome idea. Allows us to really raid bases in our own particular style.
What TH level would it be unlocked at though?
Lol i have high hopes for this to happen to the game but i doubt supercell will acually call one of the mutations "big daddy golem" or "valk husband" the first is not fitting with the game and the second is... Well creepy.
This will be great! I think this should definitely be put in the game. It just seemed to get a little too complicated with the mad scientist and the huts and everything. I think just the next lvl of lab should be good for mutations or have lower troops require a lower lvl lab (cuz im not far enough for a lvl 9 lab). But over all this is a good idea just needs to be simplified a bit cuz clash has always been about the simplicity of playing the game. But I think the game designers will do that and keep it in the clash style 👍👍👍
I like the idea but agree with the comments about not having it permanent. You should be able to choose between what unit u want, the mutated or the normal, or a mix of them. It is an easy way for supercell to almost triple the diversity of units they have available.
Well the reason that it is so complicated is so that the strategy of attacking would be completely changed and this way people could try SOOO many more strategies than we would have used to use
There would be, the mad scientist lab allows you to do this
UPDATE! I am now working on a new version of this idea, so stay tuned :D
I absolutely LOVE this thread!!!! One question: would this replace the lab? Or would it be a serperate building?
I had quite a few ideas similar to this in my head...
Since they are very close to the ideas in this thread, I thought I would voice them here
Firstly, the mutations idea. It is very sound and nice, offering many paths, but it doesn't leave too much creativity in the hands of the player.
So my idea was, to have a building called "the equipment shop"
Specific equipment would boost troop stats in a customizable way.
FYI, when I say min size and max size, that is just a marker. If your troop reaches the min size, any extra negative size adjustments will not reduce its size further, and vice versa.
For example, barbs
(min size=1, max size=2)
You can buy equipment for gold, to make their abilities suit your own needs

Sorry All my creative juices have run dry now :P
I am sure you all could some up with stuff as well though.
But just so you understand how this would help, here is an example, using barbs.
Option 1
Crystal Sword
2nd Sword
Pigskin
-This result is a powerful attack barb. He doesn’t have too much health, but has an extra powerful attack. He is quite fast, and could avoid mortar attacks.
Option 2
Dagger
Buckler
Rogue’s Cloak
-This results in a fast moving barb, with not too much health, but has a chance of dodging attacks. He has a mediocre attack, but makes up for it with his resistance to die.
Option 3
Hammer
Legionnaire Shield
Polished Armor
-This results in a slower moving barb. He attacks slowly, with a slow powerful splash attack, but can soak tons of dmg (maybe like 150). He takes up 2 capacity.
This is just the start. More options could give tons of ways to form a troop to your needs. And I happened to demonstrate with barbs. Imaging the fun you oculd have with more unique troops!
My last Idea was a hero making facility, the “colosseum”. In here, you can train heros for their specific troop. You can modify them using the mutations and combination method. They would be about twice as strong as their normal troop, with added perks. They would have a 0 min regen time, and return to you after battle
For example, you have a bunch of “wizard heroes”. You select one to lead your wizards. The first wizard you drop on the battlefield will be the hero, who can buff the other wizards around it when they are dropped. The hero drop would consume one of your troops, so if you have 50 archers, in reality you would have 1 archer hero and 49 archers.
BUYING the equipment costs gold. Once bought, in the lab, troops have to be trained with the equipment for elixir. If unsuccessful, then troop goes backwards 1 lvl. (reupgrading the troop will only cost 1/5 price). If successful, then tada, troop stats boosted.
How is this similar to mutations? it is simply an extension. The mutations idea was that a troop get a fork in its metaphorical road of upgrades. What this does is ad more side roads. Basically taking mutations to the next level (no pun intended).
For the heroes though, they shouldn't be as customizable. You should be able to upgrade them through the mutations method only, otherwise they could get too powerful.
The balloon aready cause some damage on the buildings under it. And i love the examples and idea, but you should be able to go back to the original and start over mutation. But it should cost more to start over the mutations.Quote:
Balloon
Option 1: Blimp- Drops a wall breaker every 10 seconds
Looks like a blimp
Option 2: Armoured Balloon- Increases HP and when the ballon is destroyed it falls and causes some damage on the buildings under it
Why did you bump this?
This is a good idea. It adds a lot of new troops and would keep SC working for a while. Chillax ultradragon it's a good thread, it's better than the horrible threads that you always say "hi and welcome to the forums. This idea has been ruled and it sucks. Goodbye." Stats or percent increases for a couple of them are needed. Great idea though.
This is awesome!
What do you figure you would upgrade these troops with? I was kinda thinking about the word "Mutation". It means to differ from the path of normality. So that got me thinking, what is abnormal of elixir (normal resource for normal troops)? Dark elixir, what if you could upgrade normal elixir troops with dark elixir, and upgrade dark elixir troops with normal elixir? And when these upgraded troops are in the barracks, it would cost both of the types of elixir to make. Example: Mutated Giant would cost 5000 (just an example) elixir + 50 dark elixir. How about that?
I kindda agree with this that way it wont be overpowered because if you could just bring them out normally it would be way to over powered so there should be a way to make it worth it plus this idea should go with the next (after clan wars) update because it would go well with a new townhall level
This is a really old thread, that's why he aked. Plus, this isnt really a good idea. This game does a good job of making you feel like you never missed out on anything. Having to pick between two things would ruin that, especially when it would be a ♥♥♥♥♥-and-a-half to switch if you dont like your first choice. Same thing for all the other ideas that have to do with different upgrade paths. There's a 50% chance that you will be disappointed and that shouldn't happen in this game.
You do realise i wasn't the one who bumped this or the one who made this thread, i dont think the guy who made this comes on the forums anymore so there is little point criticising the suggestion. (And i didnt say the idea was realy good, i said it was pretty good as it isn't a ruled out or stupid thread) it looks like a lot of thought has gone in to it and it has recieved a lot of positive responses so bumping it is hardaly a huge issue, With all the people posting ruled out ideas and bumping their own threads, even if someone bumping a decent thread was a crime its hardily the worst one.
