for a high lvld TH10, n im just a new TH8, this will be hard. im guessing maybe ur AD and splash and a bit too exposed? for the 36 hogs+ healers thing, u cant stop it, its something u gotta suck up
There really isn't a base that's too effective against hogs, as Pranav mentioned you just need to suck it up. Seeing from your army composition it looks like you're doing some damage with hogs also. A necessary evil for trophy hunting.
Try using a different army composition in your clan castle. I used an army composition that I got from JetLife which consisted of 2 level 6 balloons and the rest either wizards or a dragon. Level 6 balloons have the potential of eliminating a whole hog army or at least a good chunk of them. The wizards or dragon are just back up. I've had more defensive wins than losses against hogs using that CC composition so perhaps give it a try.
Thanks veraplay. Here's the other thing, I haven't joined a clan and don't think I want to. But I'm realizing this puts me in a great tactical disadvantage both on offense and defense. That said, can you (OR ANYONE) kindly make suggestions on how to improve me base? Thanks
You're gonna need to join a clan and put your clan castle in the middle. I wouldn't suggest putting barbarian King in the center since he is pretty easy to lure out.

So, I'm not sure how helpful this will be, coming from a town hall 7, but I hope some of my advice is useful.
1. I'd suggest you consider changing the placement of your air defence.
I know from experience that dragons and other flying units are taken down with more ease by air defences than by wizard/archer towers. I find that by having your builders huts behind walls wastes a lot of space. Consider creating a base design that switches around the placement of these two buildings.
2. I notice that your collectors and drills are also protected. Although people gain a lot of resources from these even while not necessarily targeting your storages, if you aren't farming consider switching the placement of your collectors with that of your defences (e. g. I see your archer tower -left corner is more vulnerable than your elixir collector, switch 'em up)
3. Upgrade your defences until you've got them maxed out. If anything can stop those hogs, high level defences will do the trick. With that in mind, try farming to gain more resources, and in THAT case, you can keep all your collectors and storages close to the centre and protected by defences so no one can take them among low level players.

What's the best placement for BK and AQ? It seems a lot of BAM armies are luring them out and clobbering them before unleashing the dogs (um, hogs)?
There is not much you can do - good attackers lure your heroes and CC troops no matter where they are. Their pathing makes them vulnerable. The way some people combat hogs is having a base with defenses in one ring, then a ring of non defense units, and finally the core with IT and XBow and Th. This makes the hogs run around while taking fire and never going into the core.Quote:

And Finally - joining a clan is incredibly important! At higher levels mostly offensively, but against unskilled attackers who do not lure your CC troops they can devastate attacking hogs.
Thanks Prof. It is cool to have level 40 heroes, and that AQ is a total badass all by herself. I send her in with healers and absent ITs, she can almost take on a base singlehandedly.
To respond to your post though, are you saying inner ring it TH, IT and Xbows only, second ring is all gold and elixer storage and third ring is ALL of my defenses? Then keep collectors, builder huts etc outside? And where to place AQ and BK? As I'm finding decent players are now luring them out with archers and then just blow them away when they get close.
Some of the folks over in Exodias have good examples for this. But yeah, I'd say keep your heroes out of it as they lure troops towards them, so you don't want them in the center.

The anti-hog design is essentially a design that separates two layers of defense by non-defense structures so that the hogs going around instead of going into the center. then you set up giant bombs and spring traps to deal with those Mr. Ts....by trial and error you should find the best position of your bombs and traps. well, bear in mind that there is no single base that can resist all type of attacks or even one single type of attack, depending on the skills of the attacker. the anti-hog design is also know as vulnerable to gowipe and maybe balloonion attack.

A lot of people have switched to using smaller troops (Hogs, Balloons) rather than the bigger PEKKA and Golems that get wrecked by ITs.Quote:
