Lazy Tom

I have just spent 15 diamonds for a day with Tom, he found one item and now is asleep for 2 hours, hardly fair Hay Day, taking off the time for his sleep and mine, this is expensive. Also, how is it that none of the tools are on the list for him to find, this is the whole point of employing him. Not happy with this at all

Sorry to hear of your frustration. This is how he is by design and why there is a 1 or 3 day free trial (i believe). Also there are a few thread regarding Tom and effective ways to use him if you search the forums.

For 15 Diamonds its good value especially if you can find 9 cheap diamond rings or cakes that take hours to make every two hours.

I have never seen diamond rings on the list, nor any decent tools. What do I do with all the cakes there's not a great deal to be made selling these items on the roadside shop sales.

You are probably not at a high enough level yet. Diamond rings are unlocked at level 40.
You need the jewelers to make diamond rings out of metal bars and a diamond. To make metal bars you will need to mine to collect ore. Those ores are used in the smelters for making metal bars.

Didnt you use him doing the 3 days free trial?

Anyway i love tom! Hes awesome, I often mannage to spent 15 diamands and then just pick shovels the first few times get my 15 diamands back and then I still got 2-3 times where I can look for something else..

It keeps my smelters up running nonstop all 5 so why would i complain? And I get the diamands I spent.

Hey Bob

The only problem I have with Tom is that you can only hire him of for a day or longer not a part day. This means for many of us we cannot get full value unless we use him at weekends and thats assuming we have nothing else on. I would never hire Tom during a work day as I would not get VFM. Surely this is something Supercell could look at? I agree with posters that Tom is great for saws axes dynamite etc this is how I stock up on those items. Unfortunately I was working away in Brisbane last weekend and didnt hire him and now my smelters will be redundant until next weekend.
