Also, is there a decent way to stay afloat on DE, or is it just overall a large de sink? I'm currently at 1437 trophies, and I find a good amount of gold, but I occasionally have to pick out medium DE but low gold targets. I've heard 1600-1800 is good for TH8 BAM? I have lv 5 barb/archers and lv 2 minions.
I use BAM at 1500-1800 and im a TH 8. I don't find it too bad on dark elixir consumption. are you using minions on every raid? If so only use minions if you really have too, maybe 6-7 out of 10 raids i don't use minions, its a last resort just because of the DE cost. Because of this i tend to find i make alot of dark elixir just because im not spending it all the time.
Give it some time and practice and you will be fine, your aiming primarily for collector bases and or easy bases where gold or dark elixir storages are in the outer most layer. You will also find many people with their dark elixir storages outside there bases (yeah i know, madness!).
Keep practicing, you will get the hang off it :)
I'm currently hovering between 16-1700. I use BAM also. I take 20 level 4 minions with me which costs 180 de. I never use them all.... the 20 will last me for about 3 raids.
Also, TH8 with level 5 barbs & archers.
So only go for easy storage raids and collector raids..
Also, should I not queue minions with the rest of my army, instead replenishing the ones I do use, if any, afterwards when I use them?
Defo easy storage and collector raids. Once you get the hang of it you will eventually be able to take on harder bases when you know how to place properley.Quote:

I would sit between 16-1900. The way I got everything I wanted toward end of TH 8 was DE farm with Dragons...8 with 20 minions and get 1.5-3k per raid up to Crystal...which would put a small dent in Elixir which was no problem, then BAM my way slowly back to 1600 rinse repeat.
that worked well for me primarily because raiding once an hour was good sometimes, and then with Bam it's every 10-15 minutes....both of which suit my life/play style at different times of the day/week.
currently doing same in TH9 except gone to Crystal 1 and will probably float between there and Crystal 3. The extra 20 pop space makes all the difference.
I gemmed the lab building time at start of TH9 and in 14 days I have level 6 barbs, giants half done upgrading and my queen going to level 4, so I just find this an easy way to do everything I want....
maintain a trophy range
get DE when I want it
switch to getting elixir when I need it quickly
get gold the whole time

I've been using it with ok results, and actually slowly GAINING dark elixir. However, my raids haven't been very profitable, mostly storage raids usually between 100-130k gold. What's the absolute minimum loot to aim for per raid, using most of my army to get 50% and/or town hall? And I'm currently at 1437 trophies. Does potential loot get much better at 1500-1800? Because right now I mostly find 60k-90k TH7/8s.
It does get better in the 1500-1700's. Dont forget its the weekend, loot isnt very good on the weekend. I tend to aim for bases with at least 150k gold. During the week i easily find raids with over 200k of each :)Quote:
