Questions about queuing bam

I'm using 72 archers, 56 barbs, 36 minions. Which should I do?

A. Queue the minions beforehand, and I don't use any. I now have X barbs, X archers, and 37-72 (depending on how long it took to find a raid) minions, which is far too many.

B. Don't queue minions, and I use all of them. This greatly reduces my efficiency, having to wait 12.5 min for 36 minions (between 2 dark barracks).

Obviously, these are both worst-case scenarios, but it's just an example.

queue up 10-20 minions

2 barracks archers, 2 barracks barbarians, 2 barracks minions. Don't worry about the numbers, just use what you have :).
