Is it worth doing barracks?

Lol at this story. If you lose 950k you have full collectors which has nothing to do with barracks. I can train mass drags with the barracks I currently have.

They are worth every bit of it.

No they're not. I've got 1 lvl8 barrack and 3 lvl6.

I dont think they are necessary unless you're trophy hunting. I've been farming my way to th10 and I still got 2 barracks at lvl8, one lvl9 and only one maxed. Why? because:
1. I'm not using pekkas, dragons healers to farm so a maxed barrack is useless
2. I need all 4 barracks at full speed to farm efficiently. no time to lose upgrading a barrack and having to wait more time for my troops to be ready.

Once I start throphy hunting barracks may become a priority, but not now ;)

So it basically depends on how you play the game, hunting or farming.

pd: saying that maxed barracks look intimidating is just plain silly.

Don't get lazy just because you are farming.

The extra space to queue troops is invaluable, upgrade them whenever the chance presents itself.

its just a few days without a working barracks, go for it!

Annoying while they are upgrading, useful when they are done.

I also found it an opportunity to play with the composition of my regular army (eg, how different is it to play with 3 Dragons instead of 4? as it turns out, it's not as bad as I thought)

For the sake of your sanity, don't do 2 of the same type of barracks at the same time.

Make noobs think you'll revenge them with mass Pekka if they raid your base. lol :P

As much as i want to say this is a stupid answer he's absolutely right!

It is also nicer having extra queuing.

Absolutely it's worth it, espicially if youre heading to a higher town hall with a bigger camp space. You need a bigger que space, so you would come back from a raid, with barracks cooking, not empty. I got max elix barracks on both of my accounts, i don't regret it.
