I don't recall a true TH .5 being labeled as an engineered base until the effects of what engineering is today came along. It sure seems people have a tendency to change their mind despite what a viable base build was 3, 2, or even 1 year ago from now when considering the fairness in matchmaking in clan wars.
Lets review what a true engineered base is. What an engineered lineup actually consists of.
This is what an engineered base is.

You want to call this an engineered base? I'm ok with that.

This is not an engineered base.
Based on what y'all believe to be true, it's currently the opposite of an engineered base. Pulling equivalent if not harder TH 11s because of some so called nerf to TH .5 bases.
The hypocrisy doesn't stop here.

Nobody cares to mention that TH10.5 do pull full TH11s in war. TH11 with completely maxed bases, perhaps. If our strategy in war, keep in mind the most accepted base development strategy for the past 3 years, is the bane of matchmaking and to the degree of fault for every ones problems, why does matchmaking put our lineup to a disadvantage but we still win?
If our current war, war matchup #8 in the OP, is nothing but manipulating the matchmaking to our advantage due to TH.5s, why does the opponent have an advantage?

If our team only has 4 infernos and no EA, surely their TH11s with respectable heroes can roll right over our TH10.5s. But wait, then we have to attack into 2 EA while they have easier bases to hit on the rebound. Suuuuch a huge advantage TH.5s have.
Still going to win the war easily, regardless of their EA, regardless of their opportunity to attack TH11s with no EA, regardless if they clean every single base below.
EA don't defend a TH11. Max point defenses do. An eagle is not needed to defend against a max TH11's attack. You just need to be able to attack a max TH11 with and EA better than an opponent can attack a TH10.5. Which isn't even that hard.

It's a sad day for the forums. It's not very often that content is posted on the forum that actually teaches someone something new or with any sense of intervention. Some come here to learn a thing or two, rather than express their frustration with not being successful in wars and not being able to figure it out themselves. All to say a TH.5 is the filth that makes clan wars what it actually is today.
I'm going to keep updating my thread, because there are people who will find it viable. It's times like now that trusting my gut, knowing what success I have had at this game over the years is vastly more reliable than many of the comments made thus far. If I can lead a clan to 50+ war win streaks time and time again, through xmod infested waters, through matchmaking updates, through bad matchups, and through the engineering sprees, with nothing more than TH.5's, that simply means more to me than what most have provided to this discussion.
