Wall Upgrading to Lvl 7

Tried to search for some threads but couldn't find an answer to my question. I'm a few weeks off from maxing TH 7. I've maxed my army camps, done all the research I need, etc. A few more defenses to go. I have 95% level 6 walls. Now, I've heard a few people say that Town Halll should match wall level. When does this stop? I heard my clan mates saying level 6 walls is fine for a Town Hall 8. Not sure what I should do. I generally stay at Gold 3 for now, and also the occasional push. I have all level 6 walls besides 10 pieces which I will definitely get to level 6.

TL;DR: Should I upgrade to level 7 walls before I go to Town Hall 8?

It's up to you. But the higher you get in THs the harder the loot is to come by.

While lvl 7 walls are preferable there is no need to sit around doing walls with sleeping builders.
i had about 25 lvl 7 walls and the rest lvl 6, you will be fine going into th8
If all your defense and elixir upgrades are done start th upgrade finish lvl 6 walls and get a few lvl 7 before th8

If you raid hard, chances are you'll get more walls done in the first week or two of TH8, too. The first stage of a new TH is always heavy on elixer, so I always dump excess gold into the new walls as well as the old - your new defenses require very little gold, maybe even none if you maxed your storages while your TH was upgrading...

I say stay at 7 & max the walls. I'm at TH 8, have been for a few weeks and I maxed 7 including walls. Although loot is fine at TH8 it's not as awesome as at TH7 and you've got a lot of other stuff to upgrade with your gold (everything is so much more expensive - all my sub-2 million gold upgrades are already done). Why the rush to go to 8? Sleeping builders don't complain so let em sleep. Even if you only do some walls and then get sick of waiting it will make life easier at 8. I intend to max my skull walls before moving to TH9. The game is about the journey not necessarily the destination. I also reckon seeing purple walls will put off some attackers when pink won't. Finish your walls while you finish your other upgrades, including mines and barracks. But once you start having idle builders, go to town hall 8.

Definitely upgrade them, pink walls aren't a pretty sight :(.

If you're still a few weeks away you have plenty of time to upgrade them. Level 7 walls tend to be what most decent players aim for since 200k/wall is easy. Since your elixir upgrades are done just cook dragons/minions and raid TH9-10s with 300k+ gold. It won't require a huge time investment since you only have to raid once an hour and you'll knock the walls out in no time. BAM will farm the gold faster if you plan to stay online for a while and farm collectors, but dragons provide a nice break before having to farm a lot at TH8 again.

I think it took me 2 weeks to do all my walls, but I wasn't putting as much effort into it. Don't let builders sit idle to finish them, but do try to finish them before that point if you can.

Sleeping builders are wasted time that could be spent upgrading something. Time is the only resource you can't farm, it's stupid to sit with idle builders unless you're a maxed TH9 and don't want to go to TH10 for whatever reason.

It's not that hard. Since you get the loot bonus from attacking other TH you can upgrade a wall to LVL7 every 30 minutes. If you get to TH8 it's going to be harder from the loot decrease and you got a whole lot of problems on your hands then.
