I was visiting someone else's farm when I was viewing the "Loading..." screen when I saw several ghosts show up floating from the bottom to the top of the screen. I took a gamble and immediately went to my own fishing spot and found the ghost.
The "Loading..... screen ghosts" might be a hint when the ghost is about.

Fourth day for the ghost on my lake,may 11:15 a.m. Pacific time. Got a diamond. Chicken does NOT have snorkel. Snorkel is by the coffin!
