Town Visitors Question

I've just started playing Hay Day and have my Town open. Is there any advantage to fulfilling the three-building visitor or can I trash them? Do they give better rewards or am I wasting my time and resources doing them?

I've upgraded all my buildings to six slots and am working on reducing the time for each. I have finished getting the B&B to 40% time reduction and as I await to get to Rep Level 15 so I can upgrade my B&B, I'd love to hear which one you'd upgrade next, the Coins or the Experience/Reputation portion.

And, which should do for the Personal Train, increase visitors or reduce time?

I almost always send away all 2 and 3 stop visitors. They do not give any better gifts than the 1 stop visitors. My rationale is that I send away all 2-3 stop visitors, and pick up the 1 stop visitors from neighbors. Similarly, all the 2 and 3 stop visitors I send away are then transformed into 1 stop visitors for my hood mates to pick up, instead of serving their 2-3 stop visitors, which they send out for me!

upgrade wise, i did 1) 6 spots in all buildings, 2) max time reduction in b&b, 3) max time reduction in spa, 4) upgrade coins in b&B, spa, gift shop. the primary reason i focused on those 3 is that they do not require BEM and SEM like some of the other buildings. i still can't max coins on the highest upgraded buildings, so i've done a mix between the 3. i've also done a few random upgrades to the others, mostly coins.

many people would probably advocate exp/rep over coins, and many will say that coins are eventually useless because you'll have so many. well, i'm lvl 91 and that's still not true, and on the flip side, after lvl 100 exp is pretty pointless too since there are no new buildings / products / etc.

as for train, i concentrated on upgrading slots first, but again it was a bit of a hybrid approach. once i got to maybe 6 slots (i don't remember) i started working on time too. i made this a priority to upgrade, as it in part helps with my strategy of only serving the 1 stop visitors, since i can have such a high throughput of pickups from hood mates.

Great news to hear that I can send all them away and know that I haven't missed out on any monumental prizes. LOL I've upgraded mine to 33 visitors and if I do all the 2/3 visitors, I'm busy for hours and hours. Done with that idea. Thank you.

I'll take your advice on the upgrading. I just couldn't use my resources to upgrade the Grocery and saved them for my Barn. Glad you validated that idea for me, as well. LOL

I see your point on coins because I still need them as I only have three lobsters in the pool and only three ducks in the saloon, so I need my coins for a little while longer and it would help me collect more.

Since I'm on Level 51, are you saying that there's not much more for me to do after the next 50 levels but maintain my farm? I don't like to peek ahead to see what coming so I don't know how many more machines or crops/animals are left. I saw the cute 5th anniversary video and started playing that day, so I've only been playing for two months, so in two months I should be finished??? Yikes, that's not good.

That also answers my Personal Train question as I don't have a huge hood base so I should decrease my time first so I can visit my hood more times in between the dreaded 2/3 visitors from the Eggspress Train that comes barreling in. I've upgraded my Personal Train to 7 and there's only one or two that ever have that many visitors I can pick up.

if you're level 51, suffice it to say there is a LOT more you're going to need to work toward. for a while still, you're going to be getting new machines and / or products every level. the machines become VERY expensive at later levels, such as the tea stand i just spent 750,000 coins for. that wiped me out and i couldn't buy the 700,000 coin taco stand i'm even further behind on! at level 91 i'm still a few machines behind and need coin (but i do shop a lot, and like trucks).

keep in mind that the exp required for each subsequent level is exponentially higher, so no, it is not a linear relationship in that if you've made it half way in 2 months, you'll hit 100 in another 2 months. earlier levels are quite a bit easier, and become more challenging going forward.

from levels 100 - 150 you get diamonds every level and a field every other level. that's why i'm not building myself to max exp. many will also recommend to try to NOT level up too quickly, as you'll find yourself in a situation where you can't afford the new machines (like me!). that's why i picked coins over exp in town upgrades. you will need them from 51 to the foreseeable future.

agreed on the personal train - that's about when i chose to focus on time. i started to realize the capacity of 6 or 7 or whatever it was was about the type of pick ups i was seeing, and that thereby i'd get more throughput by decreasing time between trains. now mine is maxed and i get 10 every hour and a half.

Personally I took a hybrid approach with building upgrades. As there is little to no benefit in upgrading time on buildings which already serve quickly.

Stage 1
Upgrade all to max capacity

Stage 2
Reduce time for - Spa & Bed & Breakfast
Increase Coins for - Gift Shop & Grocery Store
Increase Rep/XP for - Cinema, Diner & Beach Café

Stage 2
Reduce time for - Cinema
Increase Coins for - Beach Café & Diner
Increase Rep/XP for - Gift Shop, Spa, Bed & Breakfast & Grocery Store

Stage 3
The last remaining for each shop (I'm not up to stage 3 yet)

As for personal train, as you have already noted - balance your upgrades based on the average townies that is usually available to pick up. If you rarely see 5 or more available, there is little to no value in upgrading to 6+; instead get those time reductions.

Where does upgrading your Train Station come in? My current train capacity is 12, should I keep upgrading or give it a rest?

I'm not thrilled that things are going to get more expensive and that should slow me down to make this game last a bit longer. LOL

I just got the candy machine and it was already out of my price range. Level 52 doesn't have a machine, so I'm going to start saving now. The price tag of 750,000 seems a bit outrageous, like 10 times the lobster and duck upgrades. I hope I'm still looking forward to new stuff by then, if I last that long. LOL

I'm trying to save to get all the pets, but maybe I'll give that a rest so I don't level up too fast.

Diamonds go so fast in this game....especially since I feel I spend way too many by accident.

I based that formula on my own gameplay.

I often have times where my B&B and Spa bottleneck (are full and more visitors are waiting for them) - so they needed time reductions. Occasionally the Cinema has a bottleneck too - so I upgraded time there in the next phase.

I priortised Rep/XP for the longer serve buildings. Because as you have probably already noticed, you get more rep on buildings that take longer to serve.

So I felt I got more gain by boosting the rep on those already high rep buildings.

Lastly there is the Grocery Store & Gift shop, they serve so quickly already so I didn't see the need to reduce time there, and as pointed out before quick serve = low rep. Therefore I decided to use those for a coin boost. Gift shop especially benefits from a coin boost as it can pay some serious coins for jewellery. You can get HUGE coins for Diamond Rings in there!

As for EGGspress train - it maxes out at 14 passengers.

All valid reasons and thank you for the explanation and I play the same way. I now have the B&B and Spa both by 40%, so I think I'll relax a bit since the rest aren't too bad for turnarounds.

Good observation in that you get more rep/XP and am excited about getting more from somewhere. LOL

I did not know about the EGGspress train, but good to know. The Tar Paint is fairly hard to find, so I might put them elsewhere for now.

It's not about the destination, it's about the journey. Why should you send away any townie, except for the odd one that ask for crazy amounts of products?
For quick gifts? What gifts? Oh, the TEM's? The saws and axes? Oh, the ones you can get tons of by 10 minutes of wheating? Its not the lack of "end game" content that ruins the game immersion, it's the quest for instant gratification. Instead, just play the game and have fun. Tons of people play the game for years.
So, all of them have no idea what they are doing?
I am almost at level 50 and having a blast. I am sure, once at level 150, i will still harvest my crops, feed my livestock, load up my machines, wake up my pets, serve my townies and cuddle with my fishes..simply because i love it and it is fun. Level, gifts, coin, xp...yeah, whatever.
