I can easily have a tier 1 account with full th11 offense in the CWL system with an engineered account.. .of course once it gets added to war everyone would cry foul but... it has to be better than that - and built into the game in a way that cant be manipulated.

No, you cant. league matches are on paper and use the FW feature. no one would cry at all bc it wouldnt happen. You wouldnt get on a roster with such an account

We all can admit that different players have different levels of skill. That said --
The developers made a game.. a certain way - and I learned to play it that way. It isnt my fault that what I perceived to be the way it is supposed to be played was different from how they intended it to be played -- because they - as developers- have NEVER given a tutorial - a walk through - a guide - they have NEVER posted anything to help a player understand their vision as developers.

MANY players have done so.. myself included.

I fully believed that the way the game was developed -was done intentionally - and for that reason I promoted everyone to play the way that I had figured out to play.. I was not the first to engineer, - Not sure who was - but I'd wager that the name Martian is in their clan name --- but when our maxer clan got beat by someone who out engineered us - we figured out what that meant.. and we played catchup and quickly got good at the game - the way we thought we were supposed to play it.

Then the developers say -- oh wait a minute.. lets change things.. this isnt right... over and over.. thats rough on any player and can certainly lead to confusion in the forums.

Yes we had lots of fun doing 91 perfect 150 star wars in epic speed... I'd say 30% of our wars were guaranteed wins, 20% were very hard to win (as we were out matched but still got 100% due to me geming heroes and research to the tune of over $1200.00 to catch up to the engineered clans who out engineered us) -- I actually started to think that supercell mis matched clans on PURPOSE to increase cash flow..because players like me - would rather pay and speed up my progress than suffer a loss... Guess what -- sometimes we would have wars that were SO EASY they were boring.. so we would increase the difficulty of the next war - giving ourselves more of a challenge -slowly - and under our own control as we slowly grew as a clan- especially from the th8 to 9 brackets - and again from the 9 to 10 brackets (where we are now; although many of us just skipped ten and went right to 11 for the added offensive ability while still maintaining a mostly th9 below war scene with just a few tens on top to deal with.

I invite you to visit NightmareGuild2 - just say FORUM referral - look at ourlast war vs an asian clan.. and tell me - honestly - that you or anyone you know could handle those 86 to 90k bases... they were engineered extremely well with amazing base designs - that clan deserved to beat us and continue on their streak of 46 wins now -- Their current enemy clan visited us today - and informed us that they have ZERO th11 players in their clan - (this enemy had almost ten accounts with max heroes - max walls etc) So the match making is still feeding that uber engineered clan nice easy matches.. They are only about 4 months ahead of us in defenses and offenses... so we are almost as well designed as them...

But -- now - as always - the clan who engineers more extremely - better and longer -will always win. unless you have some insanely skilled players and luck... I'm not a scrub when it comes to attacking.. I'm just not amazing at it.. so yea -- my max heroes WILL fail on those hard 90k engineered bases.. sometimes I can land a 105k or a 108k... but thats rare. the game is too difficult for many people - its too easy for a few.


-- Any player - when given the instructions on how to play. When told - if you do THIS -- THAT will happen - will be able to make smart choices.

If you tell a player - increase your weight to 55k and you wil no longer get town hall 8 mirrors -- so that player knows to stay below that weight to maintain that level of complexity in the game... that player can then choose.

What this game needs - is an internal system to inform a player -- When you have upgraded X Y AND Z you will now expect to get town hall ____ mirrors in war. That player will then be informed.


What this game HAS now - is a system that keeps secretly changing. one that confuses players. Casual players witha profession, a family and little time do not have the ability to waste countless hours in a forum or on youtube researching the constant changes of a game that is always evolving... they need a game that has a set standard for upgrading - a set system of war matching and thats about it...


Why dont we handle this like in Starcraft?

1 Get each clan to have a war search button that lists basic stats. Defense weight -offense weight - hero levels - clan members - and win/loss ratio

2 start the war search and let it show you ALL other clans that have searches going at that moment - let you sort by stats in a spreadsheet looking sort button - sort by average win % or by defense or offense weight... etc... and allow you to click a button beside the clan that looks interesting to you -- click the button to compare the clans 'fake prep day' listing.. if it looks fair to you - click button and request a join

3 when you push that button to request a match -- (while war match is still automatically looking) you can see that ____ clan has requested a match in war - click here to PREVIEW THE MATCH'-- you can preview it -- and accept or reject it.

this is a secondary add on that allows players to take control of the war match during -- say - the first few minutes of a search... you can choose to use this - or simply sit back and allow it to auto match you.


Doing something like this will do a few things.

1-everyone will see public info on offense/defense weights (this info shouldbe attached to everyones account profile page anyway)
2-clans can do 'friendly wars' and get LOOT AND STARS... solution for so many farm war clans out there...
3 - game can still maintain the 'cant war the same clan multiple times in a row - must war at least 10 or 15 other clans in between' or whatever that rule is.
4- yes some noob clans may accidently accept a war with all their th3's on one side and the enemy having all 11's on the other.. it may be a funny joke for someone to do once in a while.. but who cares? unless your worried that the 3's are all just getting easy epic loot from the 11's .. aka Farm wars... this complaint is not really valid.

This is a WIN WIN idea for everyone and would easily remove 90% of complaints from forums.. cause you could arrange wars in a network of clans - or in other sites - agree on set start times - and simply look for the clans name in the list of available war matches...

yes it can be abused by people wanting to artificially create large win streaks by using burner clans over and over.. but really - who cares? everyone will know.. its not like you can hide something like that... just like the clans who do all th3/6 wars and proudly proclaim that they get 100% every war... sure -- thats great- proud of you - thats not on the same level as maxers doing 100% on maxers... but hey... each to their own.



We need good suggestions --that are simple and that have no negative side effects... this one may work;


-- i still think the old system in 2016 was my fav... it seemed perfect... a player with the knowledge of how to roster engineer- could get consistant wars - EVERY TIMe - hands down - no questions asked - no variables - all thetime.. every war.. we could get a th9 below -- if we wanted to add one th10 to the top -- we could.. and we'd get 1 th10 enemy .. it was a good system because we could easily predict the results --consistently every time.

did you like the results? did it benefit everyone? -- hey.. I'm saying it was PREDICTABLE and consistant! not that it was perfect. it was perfect for anyone who figured it out and upgraded their accounts to match how it worked.

This would solve your issue with 'roster engineering' since everyone on both sides could see and agree to the match before its decided / assuming they are proactive in their search rather than just sitting there waiting for a match..

If your max 11 offense with 45/45/20 can't 3 star a 90K base, you don't deserve to win.

Tier 1 being lowest and tier 5 being highest, I said max of offence and defence, so a full offence th11 has full th11 weight. If you're saying that you'll keep defences low, so that the system considers you low weighted, it won't work. If you're going to say that that's unfair, you can join the other pool of random spins. Manicured bases can be accounted for quite easily in this case as everyone is aware that one should enter this pool only if they have a balanced base, otherwise they'll be at a disadvantage.

I have nothing against engineering as I have come to realize that people have invested a lot of time and energy into building those bases and they need not be punished for intelligently upgrading their bases. But I'm merely suggesting a different pool for fair wars where the two sides have identical rosters.

If they've chosen a simple system to spread apart the 10's and 11's defensively that is out of proportion to the actual value the EAGLE provides, there are two ways to solve it. Give the EAGLE more value or reduce it's weight.

While it wasn't your suggestion, my point was that adding a second distortion (weight taxes) to correct for the first distortion is a horrible way to fix the problems that the first distortion induces. You simply fix the first distortion once you're aware of it.

Oh yes, very impressed by the players who have it, while others are enjoyment just for the comedy of what I might call "drunken clashing" in which it is just terrible stumbling error after bumbling error.

Sometimes lately I tend to think the average/median skill level has dropped quite a bit. To me it is oddly humorous to come online and see a 12% raid attack on one of my bases... 0 and I mean 0 loot taken by an equal th with more development than my own. What were they thinking attacking a th10 with nothing but hogs and archers and couldnt even take out my cc troops?

the cynic in me agrees with chrissxxx that allthough for sure part of the purpose of the eagle weight was to help seperate the base weight from th10 bases, a even more likely reason is to put pressure on people to gem troops. If you drop the eagle or get the th11 value pack, you end up in a bad spot where you ultra heavy, are not that amazinf yet on defence, and have townhall 10 troops at best. The pressure to gem bowlers and witch to max is big (Its big anyway, i did it on 5 accounts).

iether way the ridiculas overweighting of the eagle is amoung one of the most head scratching factors of the system. Interesting the warden is weighted so low? Why? To encourage raiding of course, and the cynic in me says gemming too.

couple of important points

1 the new matchmaker is designed to reduce the impact of lopsided (offence rushed) engineering, no one promised that there would be no more mismatches, in fact, in order to reduce the impact of lopsided engineering, without increasing war times, there will be an increase in non engineering related mismatches, due to smaller search pools of clans to match.

2 often when there are complaints of matchmaker fails, when you visit the clan it clear the mismatch was Iether a standard mismatch, a manicured and/or rostar engineered mismatch, and sometimes not a mismatch at all (but most are group 1 and 2, i,e, they are mismatches). The matchmaker change only adresses lopsided engineering.

3 there is mixed information. A clan who used lopsided engineering recently lost their 150 + win streak, engineers are complaining, people who run engineered clans are reporting harder matches, our clan who uses mild lopsiding were having it easy with a 19 win streak prior to update to losing 2 of 6 after and having half those matches going to 1 star or %.

4 people who mismatch are much more likely to come on here to angry rant, and everones tempers are boiling, so responses are not always data driven.

5 i guarentee you Darian he recieve a lot of positive feedback regarding the matchmaker, along with a lot of negative

i think we need to give supercell some encouragement for communicating and attempting to work this out. The were slow on modding but eventually they came through, perhaps history will repeat itself and over the next few months we will get a massively improved matchmaker.

Heros tend to be weak on defense. I can't speak to what their offensive weight is. As an example, the AQ is about a 5th mobile Air Defense that also targets ground and suicides against troops that don't target solely defenses. Useful, probably the best defense not named Eagle or Inferno. The warden on defense is less impactful and that's what you see in the base weight, not his offensive impact.

I agree that the fact that TH11 is divided into two groups in defensive rating of with/without EAGLE is probably not quite accurate to in game reality. The solution if they want a defining defense is to make sure it's a defining defense. They could have buffed the EAGLE instead of adding level 15 archers/cannons if they thought it wasn't defining enough.

It's impossible to have it both ways (defining defense in terms of weight and yet not defining in terms of impact) without screwing things up. I'm inclined to take TankSinatra's line on this "It's not been 'fixed' and in game for a good while. It's safe to assume they're aware of things, and it's probably working in a way that they are comfortable with." It'd be even worse if they added another layer on top to try and undo the issue. Buff the Eagle or reduce it's weight. Two options, both fairly easy to implement if they wanted to change things.

Warden along with other Heroes must be weighted low enough, because SC need people to grind heroes and gem the time for war, if heroes is too heavy then people will rely too much only on war troops upgrade, and low lvl heroes

a TH10 with 10-10 heroes but th10 war troops and spell should be able to 3* maxed TH9 consistently, but a TH9 with 30-30 Heroes will struggle to 3* a low weight TH10 with inferno and good wall let say 82K weight, and this will be a good match if Hero weight is too high.

And most people will not be encourage to grind heroes

UPDATE -- baby test clan;;

Second war in a row I managed to get 5 th9's (with developed defenses) on top of a war - with a defenseless th11 with max troops and 20/20/10 heroes -- vs an enemy clan with 4 max th8's and lots of useless 7 belows under it... Search took 20 minutes... The last clan had a war log with nothing but 100%'s all the way down.. they had no chance vs all those 9's and didnt bother to try. I expect the same from this match- their war log is also respectable.. but they cant 3 star a th9 using their th8 troops...

Roster engineering is alive and well... I have a th11 defenseless that matched vs an enemy clan of th8 below... that defenseless is like.. 7 in the war I think.. half way down...

This 'war match update' to fix things - did nothing -- really... just made searches longer, and may have taken -some- consideration into matching better.. but its very easy to manipulate still...

Once I have this figured out for th8below - I'll figure out th9 below.. th10 below.. etc.. just slowly increase weights until we find those points where your line up brings enemies that are of a reasonable difficulty... not too hard, not too easy... Shame that we- the players - have to do this ourselves with roster engineering.. just cause supercell cant figure it out on their own... lol

I checked some of the bigger win streak clans... Still in the 40's 50's and 80's... I imagine if I looked at the websites that track that data I'll still see a few in the hundreds...

complaints are rolling in just as fast as always...

I'm fine with the new match system. why not.. I've figured out how to get around it already... more or less... still have a few more tests to run using a few other roster line ups... to see which works best now.

search took less than 20 mins.

How on earth do SC see a TH11 with Max troops being the same as a TH9.
this shows SC do not consider Offence strength high enough in match making.

When are SC going to give the TH a significant war Weight. Or atleast give Troops a significant weight.

5 wars into the new algorithm and we have only had 1 war where we had an even match. Yet again we are outnumbered by 6 th11s.
We have tried excluding the Newly upgraded THs and still find we constantly get matched against highly engineered clans.

Just my two pennies worth on the rostar side of the discussion. Forgive me for not being in the elite x number of th11 bases in our line up, we aren't that big, but, hardly has the smoke cleared and the shout goes up to burn the witch, this time anyone who's roster disagrees with the groomed elite squad. Anyway, we run a stretched rostar, originally to counter the engis, eg lessen the impact of the advantage thru lowering our weight, and now simply because its the only mob we can turn out due to opt out etc. Advantage us yeah?.. nothing of the sort. Firstly, its impossible to match fairly, totally screws with the mm. But before we had the xmas/ halloween effect of either good or bad wars, but the 2 spins since we got lumbered with wars we can only get clan xp from. First war after spin we used a rushed attack/ defense th11 with first level eagle and infernos and 3 new th10s, 2 of which have dropped the 3rd xbow.. max th11 and max th10 against us, as well as the mid levels.. no chance. This spin we dropped the th11.. got an engi carrying 2 th11 mid defense and selective max troops, along with wardens and lvl 4 xbow. Ps.. have left troop type etc out on purpose as am neither complaining nor looking for advice. What I am suggesting tho is that maybe roster engineering at the top of the food chain may be advantagous, but once you filter down to the average joe, I can testify that the cons far outweigh the pros.. peace brothers.

Maybe SC could just add 'karma' as another searching criteria. Got a bad match? Check your clashing karma.

Honestly, to increase your luck with war matching, accept your lesser luck somewhere else. Maybe with the builder base, or another game, or women.
